Thomas Jefferson once said: "Information is the currency of democracy". So what would be the consequences of an election where media disinformation had distorted the First Amendment?...where the freedom of the press was employed to suppress the truth; and had abrogated their duty to report fairly on both sides.
How would our nation survive a president who was elected on a platform of voter fraud, media disinformation, lying by omission, and thuggish tactics of intimidation? Does this sound like democracy to anyone? Does this sound like the United States of America?....or more like some BBC news story about an African dictator's election, or a bolshevik takeover of a previously free country.
We are in an era of low voter information. Through every fault of our own, we have slowly allowed our cultural mainstream to sink to the lowest common denominator. People are simply just too busy to be bothered with newspapers, or reading a book, or actually paying attention to anything other than themselves. Out-of-context TV sound bites are the weapons of choice in this war of disinformation. The war is about to be won. People now staunchly refuse to be confused by facts.
What's happened to America in the last two generations? What does this portend for our future? It's an ironic twist on the heritage of our American Revolution, and a shameful travesty of John F. Kennedy's inaugural call to action: "ASK not what I can do for my country..but DEMAND everything my country should do for me". Are we still the land of the free? Or is it now more like " the land of the dependents, and the home of the entitled". "Giveth me an inch, and I shall taketh a mile."
But you cannot warp the laws of society. There is no free lunch. Someone has to produce it. But the die has been cast now for 40 years. It's not "fair" to have wealth of your own-- you must share it with the disadvantaged. Yes; forget charity from the heart; make it a law! Make it fair to tax small businesses out of existence. Make it fair to tax the inheritance of a family, whose parents toiled hard to pass on their enterprise to their offspring. In what section of the Constitution are these laws to be found?
Yes, make it fair to tax the hard-won wealth of everyone who’s earned it-- tax their homes when they sell them. Tax their dividends more heavily. Double the tax of their capital gains. Tax their utility bills that use fossil fuels to heat their homes.
And in the interest of fairness, should anyone dare say "enough!"...send armed men in uniform to arrest and prosecute them.
Tax the corporations...send them offshore. Tax the smokestack industries that pollute: Yes; put them out of business. And tax the energy companies into oblivion, because they are "too profitable". Let our chief export become the billions we send to OPEC. Tax-tax-tax, and then say it's not enough! And get away with it all because the media did not reveal the plot until it was too late.
But wasn't this country founded because of the tyranny of taxation? Our Constitution was drafted so that there would never be another King George the V...that there would never be another tyrant to seize our property, demand our money, or restrict our free speech.
But the pendulum of our freedom has swung 180*. We are now in an era where people are willing to forfeit their democracy, all but for the sake of a free doctor visit; and then trust an unfamiliar physician that they had no voice in choosing. Everyone is now responsible for everybody else.

Today, people know the name Thomas Jefferson, but they perceive little of the significance of his innate understanding-- how democracy is won, and more ominously, how easily it can be lost. There is evidence everywhere that our democracy is in peril; that our freedom of speech, and fair electoral process is about to be curtailed.
Unbelievably, in the swing state of Missouri, democratic local sheriffs and county prosecutors are threatening arrest and prosecution to the purveyors of any outspoken "untrue" criticism of Barack Obama. They plan to respond immediately to any ads and statements that might violate Missouri "ethics" laws. What if these people prosecuted were to appear in front of some liberal Missouri judge?
Obama's campaign has taken a hard stance against all criticism. Other truth squads are forming in other swing states with democratic governors (i.e. Rendell in Pennsylvania). And in the swing state of Ohio, democratic secretary of state Jennifer Brunner, is aiding and abetting the leftist group ACORN, by refusing to allow the vetting of their 600,000 "new" registrations, all of which were accepted without any showing of valid I D. Yes, 600,000-- in a state that has lost 400,000 residents in the last four years. The mainstream media reveals nothing about this. Yes America, this is all happening right now.
Is Barack Obama about to sing the swan song of our democracy? Is this anything different from the methods of Marxists...subvert the educational system; poison the young about their country...seize control of the unions; procure the manipulation of the media; propagandize the people-- tell them their country "is no longer what it once was"...corrupt the elections, drive a wedge between the masses; and complete the triumph of a socialistic victory over our about-to-be lost way of life as a free nation.
