Now given all that, we mustn't forget about Mr. Obama's legendary peace mission to the UN, and his face-off with that trustworthy guy, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev - the Russian President.
The mission centered around the Obama administration's CANCELLATION of a missile-defense network in Europe - initially proposed by the Bush administration in 2007. A powerful radar system was to be erected in the Czech Republic, with interceptor missiles based in Poland -protecting all of Europe.
Last April, Mr. Obama also sabotaged both of the Pentagon's two main "boost-phase" missile interceptor programs: the airborne laser (ABL) and the kinetic-energy interceptor (KEI).
The airborne laser takes a standard 747 aircraft and loads it with a massive-megawatt beam weapon, with the acronym "COIL" - Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser.
Using a deformable mirror (via hundreds of moving actuators) COIL compensates for atmospheric turbulence. Using infrared, plus its hyper-accurate fire-control system, it can hit a fast-rising misile from a distance of hundreds of miles - a ready-to-go state of the art, high-tech missile defense program.
Designed to destroy enemy missiles as they arc up towards the stratosphere (boost phase), COIL is ideally suited for both Iran's Shahab and North Korea's Taepadong 3 series ballistic missiles.
And what about the Chinese, and their perilous, state of the art "carrier killer" DF-21 missile? The DF-21 rises at a blinding Mach-10 speed towards the upper atmosphere; then its large warhead plunges earthward with smart-bomb accuracy...a deadly threat to all US Navy carrier battlegroups!
But although COIL is specifically designed to deal with our most serious naval threats, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates canceled the Airborne Laser Program's portion of the Pentagon's missile defense budget, saying, (quote)..."The ABL's proposed operational role is highly questionable."
Highly questionable? Who's side is Gates on?
Of course, Gates was only taking orders from our Commander-in-Grief - now the world's most foremost peacenik: (quote) ..."There is uniform acknowledgment that the Pentagon's procurement system right now doesn't work," said Mr. Obama.
COIL was built to show off how a beam can destroy a surprise enemy ballistic missile attack upon launch. But although tests have proven the system to be both accurate and deadly, according to Obama and Gates - its role is uncertain?
Just how does a schlameil like Obama - with NO background in managing anything, and NO training at any war college - come to such a conclusion, merely months after assuming control of the United States' military?
Which leads us to the Kinetic Energy Interceptor (KEI). This system - designed by Defense contractor Northrop Grumman- basically employs an aircraft-based high energy laser, designed to "fry" enemy missiles in mid-air, from either land or sea.
The KEI consists of a mobile launcher, an interceptor and a command/control battle management system. It is deployable anywhere in the world using conventional U.S. military aircraft. So far, an original KEI-modified aircraft has been successful in tests off California's southern coast.
But guess what? The Department of Defense's fiscal year 2010 budget does NOT include funding for the KEI. But why?
Secretary Gates has told the Senate Armed Services Committee that funding for the second aircraft now will instead go for "technology demonstrations...and no additional aircraft are proposed or planned." Said Gates..."to make proper use of KEI in the field, 20 of them would have to fly in close orbit of a country suspected of preparing a missile launch."
CONCLUSION: President Obama wants billions for ACORN, illegal immigrant healthcare, inner city welfare, and just about any other social program that has to do with wealth transfer - but NO MORE allocations for anti-missile defense.
With funding for both the "ABL" and "KEI" canceled, and F-22 fighter production relegated to "hold," plus reductions in other advanced weapons' systems, we can only assume that Barack Obama's Nobel Prize could not have gone to a more spineless (er, peaceful) President.
And with all of our pals out there in the "world community", the Russians, the Iranians, the North Koreans, the Taliban, plus our good friends that call themselves by that strange name, "Al-Qaida," why should America worry? According to Obama, war is practically obsolete!
Ironically, the Nobel "Peace" Prize was named after Doctor Alfred Nobel of Sweden - the scientist who invented DYNAMITE.
So have a blast with your award Mr. Obama. You surely have earned it. Because of you, it is indeed "peace in our time."
