Jim DeMint for President?
Why Not?
Sure sounds a lot better than "Mike Huckabee."
For one thing, doesn't "Huckabee" sound like some fugitive character from the Andy Griffith show?
(begin dialogue)
"Hey Opie, where ya goin'?"
"I'm going fishin' with Huckabee."
"Well that's fine son. Have a good time; Oh 'n be sure to tell Aunt Bee when you'll be back; she's gettin' ready to bake some of her mighty fine elderberry turnovers."
"Oh BOY!" Se ya' later Pa."
But before we go any further, let's give "Huckabee" his due: As they say in ol' Mayberry, (quote)..."That Mike Huckabee plays a mighty fine ghee-tar on Saturday Night. Sure does!"
Indeed; it's everyone's highlight of the weekend: tuning into Fox cable, and watching Mike Huckabee play "wanna-be-a-rock star." Now mute the sound. See if you can tell the difference from the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour- only without the applause meter.
Even funnier than the amateurs performing on Huckabee's hillbilly horror show is the vain attempt by Fox to portray him as some great soothsayer - as if he were the hallowed conscience of the Republican party.
Yes, whenever those nasty, dastardly libs from the Obama administration say/do something outrageous, we immediately run to our remotes...click on Fox, just in time to catch... "and here with us tonight to comment is Mike Huckabee..."
Who even pays any attention to this scab? This political pretender.
Who (or what) is this Huckabee anyway? What does he stand for, other than the flat tax? Worse, whenever someone even mentions "the flat tax," do your eyes not roll around, then glaze over? Can you imagine a yard-sign/bumper sticker in 2012, that says..."Vote Huckabee; he's for the flat tax"
How lame can you get?
Doesn't "the flat tax " sound like something to oppose? Who, besides the even lamer Steve Forbes, even talks about the stupid thing? Yet Huckabee acts as if supporting a flat tax will tide him to glorious victory!
Rejoice conservatives! It'll be Republicans winning going away in 2012 -riding into office on the great Huckabee's coat-tails; the country awash with people clamoring for his electrifying, stupendous flat tax! Hallelujah!
CONCLUSION: Mike Huckabee needs to retire from politics and get on with his life's work...reincarnating the once-popular Ted Mack format of the good ol' days, so he can continue to hold America spellbound every Saturday night on Fox, with his homespun talent show.
But a presidential candidate? No way.
