Sarah's irony

"Those phony politicians! They're nothing but a bunch of crooks!"

This is the bitter political irony that haunts Sarah Palin.

In 2002, after serving three terms as mayor of small-town Wasilla, Palin ran for Alaska's lieutenant governor, finishing a narrow second in a five-way Republican primary.

In the proceeding autumn, long time U.S. Senator Frank Murkowski would win the Alaskan governor's race.

Governor Murkowski had all but decided to appoint the charismatic Ms.Palin to serve his two remaining years in the U.S. Senate, but instead chose his own daughter, state representative Lisa Murkowski, then named Palin to the Alaskan Oil and Gas Commission.

That was irony number one, and a huge one at that.

Two years later, the "Anchorage Daily News" was urging  Palin to oppose Lisa Murkowski, and thwart her chance at a successive Senate term. But shockingly, Palin declined, revealing that her family- particularly her teenage son - opposed it.

Indeed, what other person would have put family before the limelight of the U.S. Senate? Only Sarah Palin would be forthright enough to admit that.

That was irony number two.

Then finally, the payoff: In 2006, running on a clean-government platform, Palin got "retribution," defeating the incumbent Murkowski in the Alaskan gubernatorial race.

Now the final irony: how Palin - rated the most popular governor in America in 2007- a year later would become one of the most polarizing figures in U.S. political history.

Despite being the most accomplished woman to have entered national politics in a generation, Palin fell hapless victim to her deep sincerity and candor; and the leftist media had uncovered the one weakness that could entrap her.

Playing defense was not how Palin had risen her way to the top political post in her home state.

But after electrifying the Republican convention with her "lipstick on a pit bull" speech, Palin mysteriously emerged a month later, meek as a chihuahua - ironically, a victim of bad advice from campaign handlers, who had encouraged her to play nice.

Immediately - smelling blood in the water - the media sharks began circling for the  kill.

Remember the prank caller from a Montreal radio station, pretending to be President Sarkozy? Then follow that up with the fateful interviews with Couric and Gibson, and it was absolutely stupefying how fast she had crashed - never to recover.

Thanks to "Saturday Night Live," it was Sarah Palin, the brilliant orator of late summer '08, to the "I-can-see-Russia" airhead by October- does it get any more ironic than that?

And more ironic yet- half of Americans currently view her negatively..."not bright, not educated, possesses a 'cheerleader' mentality."

But the other half sees her as..."fearless, stands up for conservative family values"...and..."just what the Republican party needs."

Nowadays, America's electorate has sunk to the lowest common denominator in our nation's history:

People no longer demand (or respect) honesty in their political candidates. This of course,  results in America getting the government it deserves- phony politicians who'll stop at nothing to keep themselves in office.

And herein lies Palin's problem: let's call it the "Serpico syndrome."

In his classic 1973 hit movie, Al Pacino playes Frank Serpico, the brutally honest New York City cop who refuses to take bribes. Ironically, his fellow officers would set him up for an eventual fall, before he could make the rest of them look bad .

And Palin has become the Republican's Serpico; she has that rare, intangible quality of sincerity that makes her a decided threat to all other candidates; thus she was set up to fail in '08, and would be set  up again in 2012 should she decide in favor of a run at the Whitehouse.

Sarah Palin running for president would be like Michael Jordan when he attempted to play major league baseball; despite his incredible athleticism, Jordan quickly discovered the difficulty of hitting the curve ball -something that requires years of experience.

Palin, at some point, needs to realize that like Jordan, she doesn't yet have the seasoning for the big leagues (national politics) - which also requires mastering curveball media questions.  Ironically, she's just too brutally honest to run for President.

But like Jordan playing basketball-- if Palin sticks to her game (state politics)-- the one obvious place where she'd have maximium impact would be (hello) in the U.S. Senate!

But opposing Lisa Murkowski for her incumbent's seat presents problems; Alaskan polls taken in early 2009 suggest Senator Murkowski is doing a good job; so why "cannibalize" one solid Republican for another?

Why not compete where Sarah could really wreak havoc upon the devious democrats - where her honesty could really get voters excited?

Here's the obvious race nobody is talking about; go after the most dishonest, sneaky democrat of them all- Chuck (the scum) Schumer!

A Schumer- Palin contest would be the biggest draw in New York since the Ali- Frazier fight.

Every media outlet would be there for the political story of the decade... "Migrant Palin pulls a Hillary and defeats Senate incumbent Schumer!"

And - considering the contrast- it's not even a longshot; not only would Palin be able to utilize her agressiveness vs. the wormy, slithery Schumer, picture the two in a one-on-one debate:

In one corner, the beautiful, talented former governor of Alaska, versus the swarmy, sneaky, smirky Charles "we-can't-drill-our-way-out" Schumer.

By late summer of 2010, it would be cinch to be the lead story on the national nightly news:

Imagine, soundbites of the fiery Palin, chopping away at democrats (Schumer) for their traitorous energy policy & deficit spending , while Schumer would be doing what? He'd be on the defensive- something that almost spells defeat for any longstanding incumbent.

Picture it...Schumer vs Palin- it would be like Dracula against Wonder Woman; light vs. dark; truth vs evil.

The scummy Schumer is certainly not lacking in guile; but he has done nothing in his entire career but win elections- all in underhanded ways.

Schumer has a history of playing on the border - but he always seems to come out unscathed.

During his first term as a U.S. Congressman, he was censured for using his taxpayer- funded staff to illegally collect campaign contributions for his re-election.

Schumer knows the best way to win elections. He's the unequaled master of the political innuendo; he has an uncanny way of negatively casting political opponents in one-line soundbites.

Defeating Schumer is key to any possible resurgence of the Republican party in the near future; and Sarah Palin would be uniquely suited to repel his unfounded scurrilous attacks.

Picture the firebrand Palin in the Senate, sponsoring bills to re-open Alaska for drilling offshore, and speaking on behalf of America's one overriding problem - lack of a coherent energy policy. Here is where Ms. Palin would shine like a constellation.

It's actually a dream scenario for Republicans - Americans all across the nation, rooting for underdog Sarah Palin, patriotic energy expert, vs.Schumer, the creepy defeatist author of the "we can't drill our way out" mantra, who'd rather send OPEC $700 billion annually, than permit Americans to improve their standard of living with cheaper domestic energy.

So Republicans, let's end all the irony.

Wake up and realize that Sarah Palin is one in a trillion: a magnetic HONEST politician, with that certain intangible quality that no one can define, but everyone recognizes as capable of political miracles; and being the woman who's indeed, come a long way baby.

"Will the politics of irony lead to the door of the whitehouse in 2012?"

"I can see Russia from my house!" Tina Fey, impersonating Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live

"When you think about it, Alaska is also near the North Pole, so Sarah Palin must also be friends with Santa." Jon Stewart, on claims that Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience

During his interview with Katie Couric on CBS News, Joe Biden had this to say, “When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television in 1929 and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘look, here’s what happened....’”

But the mainstream media quickly swept his history-challenged blunder under the rug, and FOX was the only major outlet that ran with the story: "Mr Biden had been of the mind that FDR had comforted the nation on a device nobody had, at a time when he wasn’t even president!"

This gaffe, combined with Obama’s fictional utterance that "his uncle liberated Auschwitz"  (he’d have had to fought with the Red Army in order for that to be true), makes one wonder if the Obama/Biden ticket is not only just the first Presidential tandem in decades to feature not a day of military service, but also, the one most bereft of historical knowledge.

And president elect Obama, with no working knowledge of business or economics, had his crack economic and business team work for hours crafting a credible statement he could release about AIG, when the company first announced it was insolvent last September. After all the brain strain, and countless hours of editing, Obama couldn't even get the name of the company correct when he issued his remarks.

Yet Obama and Biden both escaped untouched; neither gaffe was challenged by the mainstream media

Is this a sad state state of affairs for our country or what? In a recent post-election poll, 35% of voters view the Republicans as the party who's candidates are incompetent, and beholden to policies that are out of touch with the needs of the public.

Today, our liberal media is literally able to choose the incompetents as winners, and discredit Republicans as losers, who ironically suffer politically by virtue of their desire to put their country first. Yes America, patriotism is the most dangerous platform  to put forth these days in the new era of  the politics of irony.

Now Sarah Palin, one of the most accomplished woman ever to run for high office, has  successfully, and perhaps permanently, been lampooned into Alaskan exile by the liberal media.

It's actually become formulaic...anytime you want to ruin a Republican, search the video tapes relentlessly, and fire up the ole laugh & gaffe machine .

Can you imagine how Mrs. Palin must feel, that as a person seeking only to serve her country, she was made to seem as if she was some foreign carpetbagger seeking the self aggrandizement of an office she had no right to be seeking in the first place-- and all because she was considered too incompetent?.

It's the classic Republican Achilles heel:being outmaneuvered by letting the media put personality and style ahead of substance, then be made to look erratic or incompetent.

But in reality, how many erratic or incompetent people have been able to ascend the office of a state governorship in recent political memory? Ironically, we must go back to Jimmie Carter. And more ironically, he was the one who the liberal media championed right into the whitehouse.

And America doesn't see the irony in the failure of Sarah Palin to establish her credentials as someone who is just what the country needs now: a decisive, incisive person who could delegate her attention to the critical issues at hand. And she entered the race only at the behest of John McCain, and not for her own personal gain.

Yes, mention Sarah Palin now and it's, "hardy har har, that airhead". This is a fiasco for all of America, and is a definite bellweather as to how the political landscape will be mapped out for the election of 2012.

PREDICTION: the 2nd phase of the battle for the re-election of Obama will be much fiercer than the first election! The media is again spewing out a even more lethal strain of virulent disinformation, espionage, and dirty deeds. It's the old football strategy...run the same play again until they figure a way to stop it.

So this begs the obvious question? Why in the world can't the Republicans put 2 and 2 together and ask themselves..."is there something dastardly in all this?... could there be a SPY amongst us!

Espionage has always been a crucial part of victory in any conflict; and be it political OR military, all is considered fair when it comes to elections and war.

EXAMPLE: look at the final 10 days before the Nov 4 election. The polls were rigged showing Obama far ahead; but it was undeniable that Obama's support was fluid, and the undecideds were still at 11% ( an unusually high percentage for that late in a major election).

But JUST when Mrs. Palin seemed to have regained her footing, fashion-gate broke with a fury! It was as if Palin had been uncovered as some kind of a fugitive child molester on Amber alert. America reeled in anger in 'righteous indignation' that she had dared to go on a shopping spree at Neiman Marcus, as if it were a treasonous offense, subject to the firing squad!

And the timing of the news was a dead giveaway-- this was no mere scoop by some deep-digging, eager-beaver reporter.

Why was the news released that FAR past the actual event of the infamous mysterious shopping spree? And why was it even such a big deal in the first place? And why was it was the LEAD news story for that day, and for much of that week? And what did they expect the lady to wear during the campaign?

If Mrs. Palin had not looked classy, the media would probably have dubbed her "blue light Sarah"..."second hand Sarah", or someone who's out of touch with the proper appearance of a first lady.

And ironically, if there ever was a fashion gaffe extraordinaire in first lady fashion history, picture Michelle Obama on stage at Grant park, in her bizarre ersatz neo-ketchup-stain-themed "designer" dress, that looked more like a Halloween costume than an election night frock.

The first thing on the list after Mr. & Mrs. Obama finish measuring for the whitehouse drapes, should be the acquisition of a full-length mirror for the Lincoln bedroom

Meanwhile, Mrs Palin remains entrapped in a media-designed conundrum that is not of her own making.

Now, even after the election is over, the democratic espionage operatives have released a second wave of pre-emptive strikes (so-called McCain campaign insider facts from an unnamed source) that are sure to damn her well into 2012, which question her intelligence, and claim Mrs. Palin didn't perceive Africa as a continent, nor knew of the countries comprising Nafta.

But how is it possible that an educated woman, from the era in which she attended school, could be so geographically or politically challenged.? Hardly.

But nowadays, much of public IS educationally challenged themselves, and easily led to believing that Palin is little more than a female version of Homer Simpson: a dismayed, chuckleheaded, moose-hunting housewife, who just somehow happened to craft together the eskimo/whale/walrus-hunting coalition to win the governor's seat of Alaska.

But in reality she is a smart, accomplished leader with an amazing record of getting conservative things done in her home state. Plus she was a successful athlete, is a loving mother, a shrewd yet honest politician, with a faithful, handsome, loving spouse. In short she represents every thing liberals feel threatened by.

This is textbook liberal dirty democratic shock and awe politics-- at the emergence of any initial threat, destroy the potential opponent with a slew of trivial facts, but couch them as though they are threats to national security.

And those espionage agents from the democrats have shown that they take no political prisoners. All political threats are vetted and savaged before their victims literally realize what hit them. Joe the plumber's entire life was vetted more thoroughly in one week than Barack Obama's entire political career was in the last two years since he declared for the presidency.

And similar to other Republicans like Palin, and Joe the plumber, Mitt Romney also has "IT"...which can be loosely defined as that unique quality of being a true people person, and be the candidate who would serve their country and the people first, rather than for some ulterior political motive. "IT" is the quality the liberals fear most...a true American patriot.

And "IT" is not something that can be described by one adjective , or even in one sentence, but "IT" (as defined in political parlance) is that ability to connect with people, whether it be on TV, or when you walk into a room. "IT" is that rare gift to radiate honesty, morality, charisma, eloquence, sincerity, and that sort of persona that can only come from an upbringing of strong family and moral values.

So like Palin, the job of the slander-crats was to immediately savage Romney when it became apparent he was about to burst upon the scene during the primaries.

So Romney also died a swift political death by the " ten  thousand small media cuts" method. His capital crime?...he flip flopped on abortion from when he ran for Massachusettes governor in 1994, so therefore, he could NEVER be considered as a legitimate competent candidate for president.

So now the republicans find themselves in a moral dilemma: they are the party of morality, right to life, and the truth, but they can never win the next election on moral grounds.

The Republicans have to shake off the fair play tradition, and campaign from a paradoxical standpoint: "Must we now fight dirty to clean up our immoral and treasonous opponents, who would do harm to America?

Yes Republicans, you are up against people who will go to no end to lie, slander, cheat, or be complicit to voter fraud and intimidation.

And  the Republicans need to realize their situation is about to become even more  desperate with Obama in power, and must counter-attack with some pre-emptive strikes of their own.

And above all, the Republicans must throw political correctness to the wind, STOP THE LEAVE-IT-TO-BEAVER' gee-whiz-golly campaign tactics, and start the pugnacious fight to a successful 2012 election victory, with the ultimate final goal...de-throning the dangerously deceitful Barack Obama.

"C'mon now...a Communist takeover... here in America? YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS! "

QUOTE: “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”…wrote Thomas Jefferson-1788. Back in the colonial days, there were many independent newspapers. In late 18th-century Philadelphia, there were more than 20 different newspapers of all political stripes.

But the American public today has largely been asleep at the wheel. We have been muzzled by the liberal media. WE HAVE NOT BEEN VIGILANT!

So now, in this impending election, an unsuspecting ill-informed electorate may vote to drive the bus of our democracy into the ditch of socialism. And should it come to pass that Obama wins, America may never recover from the ride.

But what if any public figure dare to warn or speak out? The media assaults would be unrelenting…they are to be attacked by the press, and automatically labeled as a right wing extremist.

Example: Peer into the sinister collective mind of the Obama campaign. They pounce on anything that even sniffs of opposition..."What do they think this is... a free society?...crush them immediately...then upon our triumph, we shall pass the very law to quell them permanently...it will benignly be labeled, the 'Freedom Doctrine'. They will suspect nothing”.

Is this some 1984-type Orwellian tale? Ask Sarah Palin, or Barbara West;  currently they are under an unrelenting investigative attack, for daring to speak out publicly and warn of the impending dangers.

But for the sake of America, if this only were a story, it would be labeled a fantasy....wild fiction...a best-seller book… a box office-smashing movie...an Orwellian nightmatre…a Rod Serling tale on steroids!

"A communist take-over, here in America, the land of the free??? Hardy har-har. You must be nuts. YOU CANNOT be serious!

What’s the big deal about ACORN? Oh, they’re only just trying to stop all you Republicans from voter suppression. You guys can’t fool us—we’re for change!

Oh those radical, fanatical Right-wingers...how dare they oppose Mr. Obama! He's the one for the middle class. He’s so-o-o articulate... he'll be a much better president than that cranky old McCain.

And that Joe the plumber guy?...whataya mean? He doesn’t even have a plumber's license!

Obama isnt telling the truth? Oh, that's just more of all the Republican's hate speech.

Brainwashing by the liberal media? What are you, some right wing nut-job? Those guys on Fox and   talk radio have YOU brainwashed. They’re the liars! Barack Obama is the one for change. Look around…how bad can things get? Look what that George Bush did to us for the last 8 years! That’s why I'm voting for Obama...no more of that BUSH!"

And ironically for America, this 'no-more Bush- just get-even-with-Bush' backlash, is what may finally push America over the brink.

It’s the perfect storm for a by-the-rules, socio-marxist takeover. But anyone educated and rational enough to see it coming, is virulently ridiculed by almost everyone else, discouraging them from speaking out in public.

Just look beneath the surface: is there more than just an election at stake here? Is there something sinister about to take place? Is more than just the presidency being decided here?  Any Intelligent educated American can sense the plotting and scheming.

If you connect all the dots, you cannot deny it. Something strangely un-American may be at work. There is Obama's shadowy history in south Chicago. And who was it that trained ACORN in their rent-a-mob tactics of Marxist intimidation? Badgering and rabble rousing; all under the guise of a benign name, ACORN. Could any fiction writer have come up with a more sinister storyline?

This all smacks of textbook 1984-style Big Brother Marxism. Everything is in place! Nothing can be proved, but so many questions linger.

Why are the public school teachers ALL for Obama?...why are ALL the unions? The young people? Almost ALL  are for Obama. The media set-up of disinformation. Government funding for ACORN. Where do we stop? Everything points in the same direction.

Norman Bethune, deceased member of the Communist Party of Canada, was of particular inspiration several generations ago, with his writings extolling the virtues of communism:
Bethune's -"The Dogma of the Duped'- goes like this:

..."Communists must morph into liberals, feminists and socialists, and myriad front groups...(ACORN)... identifiable by words like "human rights," "equality," "international" and "peace"...all to divide and subvert society."

"In overthrowing the government, the lower classes shall eliminate all injustices, and create a worker's haven on earth."

"Their mission is to take (through violence) what rightly belongs to them...only Marxism can relieve hunger, poverty and the drudgery that fills the lives of ordinary working people everywhere; and that they...are to dig the grave of capitalism."

"...despise all capitalism, because it involves competition and market forces. It allows other people the opportunity to prosper and be free...favor monopoly or state capitalism, because then they own or control everything and everyone. Then take over the labor movement..."

"The Liberal media must marginalize and ridicule as “right wing fanatics”, all people who warn of the Communist threat".

Heard enough? Still not convinced? Just turn on your TV. Liberals and leftists are quick to parrot the mass media of ridicule against all conservatism, thinking  that all the character assassinations (Comedy Central; Saturday Night Live) are "cool."

Read further on into the radical-red mind of Dr Bethune..."when evidence of any skulldugery surfaces, denounce it as a lie...then smear the messenger!"

..."Communists do not believe in family institutions or morals. Everything is free. Communists are dedicated to the destruction of the morale of the people by undermining their faith in their moral and social patterns."  (atheism; expanded abortion rights; same-sex marriage.)

..."agents shall abound, especially the homosexual, feminist, socialist, Zionist and liberal circles, human rights commissions, employment-equity causes, and diversity officers...they are the modern political commissars.”

“ Hate speech is censorship applied selectively”, (Freedom Doctrine).

But how frightening can it get? And we're only an election away from this all happening!

But the one overriding mainstay that is vital and key to over throw...the silent subversion factor: to be so deviously subtle, that the public is not to be aware- until it’s too late. Enter Barack Obama, beguiling speechmaker, and eloquent soothsayer of doom...

..."Times have never been worse, so you must elect me in order to sustain hope; so that we may bring about change!”

Now think carefully America; this is why Obama, even into this pre-electoral eleventh hour, shuns all traces of complacency! He outwardly feigns confidence, but inwardly remains near desperation as his campaign obsessively watches the polls.

Obama is warning his sheep to not get complacent..."remember New Hampshire"…"take the day off work"… "go door to door"… “round up your friends”…call your grandmother...this thing is not over...”

And if Obama could think out loud...

“...Just push me across the finish line, so I can destroy your flawed Constitution, and stand up for poverty and equality, extol socialist freedom, and effect the final glorious takeover!”

And if his daydreams could be heard...

...“And after it's all over, it will be too late for America. And only until then, will you realize that all along-- it was to be THE CHANGE that you all were so easily deceived in!”

"Set your alarm clock Senator McCain...it's time for your wake-up speech"

                                                                           McCain Wakes-Up-His-Campaign Speech...

...My friends, I am addressing you now because I think the entire country is in dire need of a wake up call. Now that my opponent has taken the advantage, it's time for more than straight talk; it's time for some blunt talk because we're rapidly approaching the time of decision. And before you all make your choice, the one thing to remember... the primary job of a president is to make important decisions...sometimes ones where the lives and fortunes of many people are at stake.

But I must point out, that although my worthy opponent is an articulate, intelligent, calm and level-headed fellow, who certainly looks presidential, the one thing he excels at is his INDECISION: he's expert at taking both sides. My friends, this gets you by in a political campaign...it's great for the pollsters, but not in the Whitehouse. Has Senator Obama ever been forced to make a really important decision?...one that could involve the lives of hundreds of our soldiers...or react during a critical moment that could lead to either averting or blundering the country into an unforeseen war?

Has Mr. Obama ever been confronted with ANY crisis? A commander in chief must make unwavering decisions when lives are at stake; What I perceive Mr. Obama doing is to basically use his Joint Chiefs of Staff as subcontractors for any crucial military decisions.

Every president faces international crises. Kennedy and the Cuban missiles. Johnson and the gulf of Tonkin; Nixon and the Pueblo incident; Ford and the Mayaguez crisis; Carter and the hostages; Reagan and Korean flight 007; Bush I and Saddam's Kuwait invasion; Clinton and Kosovo in the Balkans; Bush II and Sept 11. A president must always be ready to answer the zero-hour call for either decisive action, or inaction to avoid war. There is no time to negotiate. You can't vote "present", appeal to the UN, or hide in the Whitehouse.

Look back at our recent history. The last time our country was disgusted with a Republican administration, our nation chose to make a 90* turn. The public voted for an inexperienced liberal named James Earl Carter, a peanut farmer, who tortured our nation with 444 days of indecision during the Iranian hostage crisis. The man meant well, but he waffled in the Whitehouse, consulted with the U.N. and the World Court, and froze in his tracks, while our hostages were tortured and badgered until Reagan brought them home.

Examine my opponent's LATEST position on Iraq. He's had several. Yes he was against the war in 2002. Since then he's been dependably inconsistent. But now, the situation has decidedly changed. History is about to prove that we made the right decision. We are about to achieve a near-miracle accomplishment, a stable functional Muslim democracy, in the center of what was previously an area of instability and hostility. And Senator Obama wants us out. He would have us not only forfeiting our hard fought victory, but also he would be forfeiting the great peace dividend we are about to reap that could go on for the next hundred years.

Yes my friends, the war has been costly, but eventually we may recoup our expense a hundred-fold. As we speak, foreign investors are preparing a surge of their own. A United Arab Emirates developer will soon break ground in Baghdad on a 30-story $270 million hi-rise tower. It will house shopping malls, office space, and apartments. The cessation of sectarian tensions, and the dramatic improvements in security have attracted developers worldwide to Iraq.

The Mayor of Baghdad, Saber Nabat el-Essawy, is positively exuberant: His vision is to one day look across the city and see billions of dollars worth of malls, luxury hotels, apartment towers, outdoor amphitheaters, gardens, stadiums, and parks.

At our 80-acre military base at Rashid, a massive 5 billion dollar development has already attracted 16 foreign bids. This will include a state-of-the-art medical center, apartment complexes, hotels, shopping centers, and a sport stadium. A sports stadium? Apparently the Iraqis are planning on some long term stability, which well might last A HUNDRED YEARS! Now that the fighting has subsided, the Iraqi people are demanding cars, satellite dishes, phones, I pods, computers, and high definition TV's. Cell phone use has surged to over 70% in Iraq.

The future possibility of Iraq becoming one of our main export markets is there for the taking. The abundance of Iraqi oil is a resource for the capital they would send us to buy American goods...appliances, software, hardware, prescription drugs, airplanes, food, electronics, beverages, and whatever other markets we could develop.

But Senator Obama wants to cut and run, because he feels our money would be better spent on the alphabet soup of social agencies he has planned. Mr. Obama would subordinate our free market economy to his own liberal big-government style of socialism. Maybe he should be running for president of Sweden. Who knows?...maybe he could grow their government from the bottom up? But I don’t think that would work very well here!

But now that we've largely solved our problems in Iraq, the next president will undoubtedly be facing an even more menacing situation next door in Iran. How will the next president deal with a nuclear Iran, in the hands of Mr. Ahmadinejad? He's testing missiles. His engineers are spinning uranium into its heaviest molecular form, so it can be used to trigger a nuclear explosion. His first nuclear test could be in less than two years, and it could very well occur in Israel’s backyard.

Mr Obama said he would start negotiations with Ahmadinejad without preconditions. Would he return successful, or would he only succeed in becoming the next Neville Chamberlain? What if Iran then launches a surprise attack on Israel? Or Israel strikes first at Iran? Would Senator Obama agonize in the Whitehouse? Would he waffle, or get involved, and risk a wider conflict by aiding Israel? What if Iran blocks the straight of Hormuz? We would face a fuel shortage overnight, and our military planes would quickly run out jet fuel.

These Muslim dictators have no moral code. You can't hold them in good faith in any diplomatic agreement. Yes...they will lie, and try to lull us into a false sense of security. That's why you don't negotiate with a dictator or a sworn enemy. An Islamic theocracy and our American democracy are polar opposites. Iran has spent the last five years buying up American technology on the black market, and making electronic detonators for the roadside bombs, which have been used to kill and maim our soldiers in Iraq. This Ahmadinejad character is no friend of ours!

My friends, the best way to assure our own national security is to develop our own resources, so our children don't have to fight any future energy wars. If we were to begin a Manhattan project of new offshore drilling, in the short term, it would put one million people to work! In the long term, it would translate to even more workers, more oil, lower gas and diesel lprices, and we can keep that 700 million we send annually to Opec in this country for new investment in jobs; and enable people to purchase a new car, or washing machine, or home improvements, because people would no longer be spending so much on gas!

Mr Obama would create five million new green jobs in alternative energy. But he must have been quoting from an estimate from the National Council of Mayors, which said five million new alternative energy jobs will be created in the next 30 years! THIRTY YEARS!

That's a long time to wait for a new job.

Mr Obama says we use 25% of the world's oil, but we have only 3% of its reserves, so we should plan on driving less, turn down our thermostats, and reduce our standard of living so the rest of the world can catch up. That's his plan for real change.

My friends, you can't grow the economy without a low cost supply of energy. Our factories run on natural gas...our heavy industries use diesel vehicles, and our airlines run on kerosene. Mass-produced electric and hydrogen cars are years away. 60% of our electricity comes from coal. And I plan on supplying the rest of it with new nuclear plants, that would put many other people back to work. And Mr Obama is against it all. He promises to replace all fossil fuels in 10 years. This would jeopardize our military security. Tanks, Humvees and jet fighters can't run on wind or solar.

Mr Obama is the taxman. He would place a carbon tax on coal plants; a tax on natural gas. Like that old song from the Beatles...he will literally tax your heat! Mr. Obama despises fossil fuels. He will have Al Gore whispering in his ear, as he dismantles our present energy infrastructure.

If you want to know what your Obama future will really look like, just watch the news from Atlanta, and see the gas lines winding around the block. This is what the democrats have done to our country from their anti-American energy policies. No new drilling...no new refineries... tax the energy companies. Blame George Bush. Strangle the free market. Do the bidding of the environmental puppeteers. Pretend alternative energy is just around the corner. Let the people keep paying 4 dollars a gallon, so they can continue to send their money to Opec, instead of to the bank for their mortgage payment.

My friends, as your president, in my first act of bi-partisanship, I will go directly to the Congress, and meet with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. I will tell them that we are going make a maximum effort to drill our way out of this present energy crisis.

We will develop our alternative energy supplies. We will build 45 new nuclear plants, and we will get rid of Opec in ten years after we perfect our shale-to-oil, and coal-to gas domestic energy supplies. There's your five million jobs!...and they're all ready to be filled now under a new McCain-Palin administration.

Governor Palin is America's most shining example of the perfect energy czar. She has the experience where America needs it most...solving our energy problem! We are going to find as much offshore oil as we can, which will lower the price of gas, and restart our economy.

And we will go to work on our infrastructure, and construct new corridors of hi-speed rail, and take the burden off our airports and interstates, conserve fuel, and create another job boom in alternative transportation, and put our engineers to work developing geothermal, solar and more efficient wind power.

But my friends, none of this will happen without your support this November. You may not agree with all my policies, but as your president, we'll regain our prosperity and place in the world, because the economy comes first, and restarting it requires realistic policies backed by firm, unwavering decisions. And I ask you to think very carefully about whom you choose to send back to Congress, because a president can accomplish little unless the people and the entire government are all on the same page.

And after you go into the voting booth, and begin to mark your ballots, I'd like you to think of our soldiers abroad, who are serving in Iraq and the Middle East. They're not on the front page any more, or in many news stories, because we're winning: but just the same they are still out there everyday, accomplishing their missions, and securing our freedom back home. Keep them in your prayers. Remember those who have died, or have survived with amputations and terrible burn wounds. We've payed a heavy price, so like Ronald Reagan always said... we must stay the course.
