Saint Obama-- prodigal son of the Whitehouse--finally comes home

Heads I win...tails you lose.

Indeed, ever since Barack Obama began campaigning for president, he's had it both ways:

Recall Mr. Obama's "go to" line on the campaign trail; it would work every time: (quote) "As a Senator, John McCain voted with Bush 95% percent of the time...so a vote for John McCain means four more years of  GEORGE BUSH."

Finally, after serving as a punching bag for 2 months, McCain himself put on the gloves and began fighting back..." Barack Obama's political career was launched at the home of Bill Ayers, an avowed anti-American terrorist!"

At last, the foundering McCain had discovered an effective tack: he would go after candidate Obama personally, as Mr. Obama had done to him.

But never lacking in resourcefulness --and backed by the media-- David Axelrod (Obama's "consigliere") quickly defused McCain's charge saying..."the accusation about Ayers was "guilt by association," brazenly skirting the fact that painting McCain as another Bush was indeed, guilt by association-- and the media KNEW it, but kept their "code of silence."

Obama survived, only because the press did not expose his radical roots in Chicago; and as usual, Obama had gotten it both ways.

And little has changed since he was sworn in as president.

Never in the history of the modern Whitehouse has the once-aggressive, mainstream media given a president such latitude to have it both ways:

EXAMPLE: After the 800 billion anti-stimulus bill was rammed through Congress, the press hailed it as if it were the next Marshall Plan: "The President's active efforts to create jobs by rebuilding our nation's infrastucture will lead the nation out of recession."

But the press conveniently ignored the fact that ONLY 30 billion was allocated towards the rebuild . And doing the math; we see that 30 divided by 800 = 3.7%.

That's right ladies 'n gents (and all you pro-Obama media types); after all the posturing by the press, and all the braggadocio from the Whitehouse, our beloved anti-president is spending only 3.7% of an astounding 800 billion (1.2 trillion when you factor the interest) on actual infrastructure.

And the code of silence?  The destination for the balance of the money-- thousands of new government administrative jobs to dole out Obama's new entitlement programs-- is seldom mentioned.

And those proud recipients of all the Obama largess? Can you guess who they'll be voting for in the 2012 election?

Bottom line: Obama's anti-stimulus is the biggest vote-buying scam in American political history.

Chalk another one up to Obama having it both ways.

And what about now, as the media has become embroiled in the Obama-manufactured CIA torture controversy, and the now-cancelled photo release?

In a quote from a recent Whitehouse press dispatch..."President Obama's change of heart on releasing photographs documenting prisoner abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan by the American military, is a practical decision to save lives of American soldiers."

Another sugary press release crows..."The President's change of heart deserves our respect and support"...."Once again, Mr. Obama has demonstrated ably that he does listen to the experts."

Splendid-- we now have a President that can change his mind. Such candor.

And get out the maple syrup; the media is lathering on sweet praise for the great "Obama Epiphany," yet there's scant mention of his administration's treasonous announcement back in April, directing the Pentagon to turn over 44 graphic photographs, each depicting abuse of detainees in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush years.

This was all in conjunction with the plan to sic our brave attorney general, Eric Holder, after any of  Bush's lawyers who'd given the green light to the CIA to waterboard captured terrorists.

It was to be the "great Obama master plan of distraction."

Whether conceived by either Rahm Emanuel, James Carville, Axelrod, or Obama himself, the sheer brilliance of the plot lay within its simplicity; put Bush's CIA lawyers to the fire, while under so-called "pressure" by the ACLU to release 44 of the worst photos depicting captives held at Abu Gharib prison.

This was the Obama administration's grand concept of "ex post facto"...putting the previous administration on public trial in the media, while diverting  attention away from the actual business at hand-- passage of cap 'n trade, climate change, government health care, and the other radical leftist agenda of the democrats.

It was all so clever-- the photos would distract a "concerned" public (and the rest of the world), while letting the Obama gang in Congress get away with legislative murder.

But who'd a thunk the entire plot would be foiled unwittingly by the most diabolic of all the Obama characters-- our cherished Speaker of the House-- the inimitable Nancy Pee-lo-si, whose lies have ironically blown the whole shindig sky-high.

So now with Pelosi under fire, suddenly-- in his great, infinite wisdom-- Obama will not release the photos, and the hysteria to prosecute the Bush CIA lawyers has mysteriously died down.

In his Machiavellian soul, Obama was quick to grasp it was time to breakout the political fire extinguishers, and quell the whole sinister plot...all for one basic reason: he could foresee that all the furor & investigation, would eventually lead to the evidence that might crucify his beloved Speaker on a cross of prevarication-- and his most vital cog in Congress would be banished in shame.

And it would all be to the great disgrace of the democrats-- negative publicity that our shiny anti-president could ill-afford.

So now saint Obama-- prodigal son of the Whitehouse-- has "returned to his senses," back home on the side of sanity and patriotism; and now publicly states..."I will NOT release the photos!" (play "Hail To the Chief" music)

And St. Obama (never one to omit details) has seen to it that Chief of Staff (chief thug) Rahm Emanuel has privately called each of the major media, relating, "if you continue to seek Pelosi's scalp, you will face the ultimate disaster-- no more access to the Whitehouse press corps."

And true to having it both ways, if Mr. Obama HAD released the photos, great praise would have been forthcoming  for his "great wisdom," his "presidential  transparency," and "change" from all past administrations.

Some call it a "flip-flop", some call it lying, and some call it judgment.

But in any event, a new teflon president has been crowned.

The "mob offer" Pelosi may not be able to refuse

In today's entertainment section, let's recall one of the classic TV series, "Hogan's Heroes", which starred Bob Crane.

Like M.A.S.H, it was one of those timeless, all time favorites, complete with a cult following, and a cast that worked "just right" performing together on the small screen.

Undoubtedly the favorite bit player of Hogan's Heroes was sergeant Hans Schultz, played by Austrian actor John Banner. Throughout the series' entire 168 episodes (1965-1971), the hapless Sergeant Schultz would repeat a favorite audience laugh line, the immortal, "I know NOTHING."

And in the cinema section, let's review one of the all time great movie scenes, the second to last in "Godfather I", where Michael Corleone tricks his hated brother-in-law, Carlo, into revealing, "who gave the order" to assassinate his beloved brother, Santino.

In the classic scene, we quote Michael as he confronts Carlo face-to-face..."Only don't tell me that you're innocent...because it insults my intelligence and it makes me very angry!"

Within minutes, after spilling the beans, Carlo meets his fate, and is executed by Clemenza.

And in today's political section, the headlines read... "Pelosi Says "CIA Lied to me...they are guilty of misleading the Congress of the United States"..."I was never told about the fact that waterboarding had been used on a terrorist suspect."

Interesting...Madam Speaker has embarked upon the Sergeant Schlulz defense-- in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary--she steadfastedly claims..."I know nothing."

So now, in a "Carlo-like" gross personal miscalculation, she has made BOTH the CIA and mainstream media... "very angry, and has insulted their intelligence."

Atta-girl, Nance! You've just put yourself onto the fast track to the political gallows.

Throughout her press conference, Pelosi gave a performance worthy of Mr. Porky Pig (a-yeeb-a-deeba), stammering through vague answers which all but revealed that --despite her non-pareil political acumen-- one cannot fool their own subconscious mind, and the truth within her could be veiled no longer.

Bye bye speakership-- hello retirement into private citizenship.

But fancy Nancy probably need not worry about inflation; she has a net worth estimated to be 35 million dollars (much of it in Microsoft stock), plus the vineyards she and he husband own in Napa Valley.

It's been a storied two year stint for our besieged House Speaker, dominating the pulpit as no modern Speaker has ever done before. If Machiavelli himself had been a Republican opposing her, the smart money would have been on Pelosi.

In her acceptance speech to Congress in January of 2007, she HUMBLY stated..."I accept this gavel in the spirit of partnership; not partisanship."

Partnership? The late Saddam Hussein aside, has there ever existed a more radical political control freak in our lifetimes than "Nazi" Pelosi? Until now, she's literally eclipsed everyone in D.C. in raw political power.

But even that may not save her, because her own party may ultimately turn out to be Pelosi's "Clemenza." The democrats are all too aware of the sheer irony: a plot to get revenge on Bush's CIA lawyers has boomeranged back in the face of a lying House Speaker; so either Pelosi goes, or this row goes on for months-- a distraction the democratic legislative timetable can ill afford.

But dare she refuse to step down..."Pelosi-gate" here we come.

Indeed, fate has a funny way of getting even; its called "hubris," a word of Greek origin which as defined by Miriam Webster: Exaggerated pride or self-confidence.

Pelosi is the original charter member of the Capitol Hill "4-H club." There has been no one serving in Congress with such hubris; such hypocrisy; such haughtiness...or hostility.

Hostility? As far as Republicans have been concerned, she's wielded the speaker's gavel like a billy club at a bouncer's banquet, and has never yet missed an occasion to sabotage GOP policies ever since taking that gavel in early 2007. Partisan debate has been non-existent.

Haughtiness? In August of 2008, Pelosi adjourned the House, turned off the lights, and killed the microphones, thwarting  Republican attempts  to schedule an offshore drilling vote, thereby saving the day for her cherished constituency-- California environmentalists.

Hypocrisy? Pelosi holds a large stock position in T.Boone Pickens' alternative energy company; yet another reason why she has blocked every offshore drilling measure with political impunity-- plus owning several California restaurants where she employs a staff of mostly illegal aliens.

From the outset of her speaker's career, Pelosi has been a virtual political fox on steroids; examples abound:

Feb. 2007-- After the democrats won control of Congress, Pelosi immediately quelled the revolt of her own majority party against impeaching George Bush, telling the Washington Post that... "an impeachment investigation was off the table...you never know where investigations might lead".

Yes indeed, fancy Nancy suffers not for lack of political savvy.

Sep 30th, 2008-- the first scheduled vote on the 700 billion TARP bailout: Pelosi and the democrats had been licking their chops at the prospect of getting their hands on this unplanned mega-bonanza, and after long, backroom negotiations, the measure had just enough bi-partisan votes to pass.

But after getting late word that the TARP bailout was exceedingly unpopular in many blue-dog democratic home districts, Pelosi quickly stepped to the podium and made an extemporaneous, divisive, bitterly partisan speech that --as she had calculated correctly -- would turn the 10 Republican existing "yes" votes into NO-- purposely sabotaging the vote.

Yet despite all her cleverness, the haughtiness, the arrogance, and most of all, her support by the mainstream media, Ms. Pelosi ultimately could not escape her overriding hubris, committing the only “no-no” that could have derailed her-- insulting the intelligence of the press, and making them angry-- very angry!

During the entire 111th Congress, the Pelosi House dictatorship has led directly to the railroading of the 800 billion stimulus bill, the 3.4 trillion budget, plus a plethora of other democratic sponsored measures.

But in the parlance of the most Reverend  Jeremiah Wright...Pelosi's chickens "have come home to roost."

And now, having aroused the ire of the CIA-- combined with alienating the mainstream media-- her political career may soon sleep with the fishes.

30 years later--Obama caves to left and mimics Carter

Memo to president-elect Barack Obama: the recent terrorists attacks in India, underscore the reason why you must immediately withdraw Leon Panetta from the position of CIA director. The Mumbai attack could have been prevented, but India kept no intelligence personnel or police along their sea coast.

And Mr. Panetta has been a strong critic of the CIA's detention program and warrantless surveillance. He has equated the interrogation technique of waterboarding, or simulated drowning, with torture, and has said,  "It is illegal, immoral, dangerous, and counterproductive".

But without agency or any intelligence firsthand experience, how would a clueless Panetta be able to design a mission, or interrogate a key Al Quida operative, with radical Islam burgeoning worldwide, and the Taliban on the rise in Afghanistan? Is this any time for on the job training?

Panetta, a good manager-type of executive, is filling a position requiring someone with a adequate set of skills that would give him the AUTHORITY needed to run a spy agency. After all, would any big-city mayor have any hope of keeping his job if he were to appoint someone as police chief who'd never been a cop himself? Is there any difference here? This is nothing short of a massive blunder on Obama's part, despite what his liberal supporters of the appointment may say.

Obama seems to be conducting some mad scientist experiment with his attempt to prove that one need not be sophisticated in the field of spying to become the head of a department of spies. Obama is now playing with the safety of America. Panetta has absolutely no experience in the intelligence world, but was once the director of the Department of Management-basically another Clinton pencil-pusher running a new show. And if the country is attacked because of this, who would take responsibility? The liberal left, who basically coerced Obama into making such a clueless appointment?

Yes; it's that "change" thing again. Panetta has no knowledge of CIA structure or staffing, and will undoubtedly cause agency morale to plummet. This also means all the old CIA hands will be fired that support coercion, interrogation, eaves-dropping, and prisons. So who will replace them? The Peace Corps?

With Panetta at the CIA's helm, clandestine is out, and transparency is in. So now, let everyone in Congress be apprised of the agency's every move-that's the way to do it! Play "I've got a secret" on Capitol Hill. Homeland security is out, and Pollyanna is in. From now on, we'll make nice with Al Quida, and they'll certainly return the favor. Perhaps their next planned attack won't be as harsh. Maybe they'll switch from boxcutters to nail files in the new Panetta-Obama era of being nice to the bad guys.

And maybe if Iran's president, Ahmadinejad, NOW decides to attack Israel, or Osama hits New York again; Mr. Panetta and Obama can send a "strongly-worded" message to remind them that they're not being nice. So in this new era of being cute with our enemies, what would happen if maybe we did capture Osama? We wouldn't (couldn't) interrogate him under the new ground rules?

Yes; let's be nicer to our enemies, just turn the other cheek, and see how nicely they return the favor. If we had found Osama bin Laden before the Sept. 11 plot, and EXECUTED him, we might have avoided both the Afghanistan and the Iraq wars, prevented the 3000 casualties of 9-11; and the World Trade Center towers would still be proudly standing in lower Manhattan. Yes, that’s what a good, FUNCTIONING, CIA intelligence agency can do.

But the operative word here is 'functioning'- A CIA with no ability to get tough might as well become a branch of the USO, according to the liberal leftists. After all, the goal of the CIA is intelligence-not public relations, as Obama has suddenly come to believe by appointing the 70 year old Panetta .

But is there a reason Obama feels he needs to give Panetta a job? Is this some sort of a quid pro quo? This is a very poor fit based on Panetta's lack of experience. Does Leon have something on Barack, or could he possibly be this clueless?

Former intelligence veterans have a litany of concerns about what will amount to the most inexperienced intelligence director to be appointed since the creation of the CIA in 1947. And current employees are enraged that a political hack is being named CIA director. It's demeaning to the entire 20,000 person staff. It's painfully obvious to anyone with agency experience that Panetta is unqualified to lead the CIA-end of discussion-period!

In choosing Leon E. Panetta to be the next CIA director, President-elect Obama appears to have concluded that a spy chief who understands politics, may be better equipped to carry out the incoming administration's national security agenda than one who understands espionage

This is like appointing the head of Starbucks as director of the FBI, because that person has great organizational experience. And what if the FBI had no powers of interrogation? What instead, if our public enemies were given coffee and donuts, and encouraged to discuss their experiences? How well would that work out?

Could the United States have won World War II without intelligence? Because the OSS was capable of killing certain Nazi operatives (and used clever deception), the Allies were able to convince Hitler that the D-day invasion would occur at Calais rather than Normandy. This shortened the war by at least a year, and possibly saved the entire western world!

Could the independent state of Israel have survived without its fabled intelligence force, the Mossad? It was the Mossad that uncovered the Arab plans for the 1967 Six Day war, where the Israelis knew the Egyptians and Syrians were coming; and the resulting pre-emptive Israeli air strikes prevented disaster and gave the conflict its name, "6 -Day War". How many lives were saved because of the brevity of this war?

But this is what intelligence agencies do --by playing hardball with the enemy (torture, interrogation, coercion, deception) you trade some human suffering on the part of your foe for the saving of your own countrymen's lives, and avoid any surprise attacks.

This is the purpose of intelligence-it's security. You save your own country from possible disaster through pre-emptive intelligence operatives: spy-vs-spy...We vs. Them. That's the real world out there. You will not be safe by playing softball with the enemy. Being  sneaky is a necessity- not by being open and playing goody-goody.

For years after World War II, U.S. intelligence forces had done their job well. The CIA succeeded in stalemating the KGB during the Cold War era in Asia . The agency had been staffed by the former members of the OSS , our World War II spy service. Before 1977, the CIA was highly effective world wide in keeping Washington informed as to what our enemies were up to.

But then came the election of Jimmie Carter in 1976, and the sad dismantling of a once-proud, highly-motivated intelligence organization. Carter, like all liberals, believed in being "fair". So what did Carter see as the first place to single out for reforming? It was those nasty, dastardly, secretive, 'immoral' CIA brigands. After all, hadn't the CIA taken part in assassinations, deception, blackmail, torture, and other knavish misdeeds during the 50 's and 60's?

Today, it can be noted back in history when Carter made one of the most ill-conceived presidential decisions of all time: He issued an executive order that placed all nine U.S. intelligence agencies under the coordination of one man: CIA Director Stansfield Turner, who was 54 years old at that time

Stansfield Turner had no agency or intelligence experience of any kind. He was Jimmie Carter's college roommate at the Naval Academy. Carter probably would have done just as well to appoint Mr. Rogers, or Mr. Magoo for that matter, because like Carter, Turner saw the world through rose colored glasses, and was blind to the true realities that indeed, America had many implacable enemies around the world, especially in the Middle East

In October of 1977, Turner issued an administrative order to sharply curb many of the clandestine practices that had brought the CIA much of its criticism from the liberal members in Congress back then (i.e. Idaho Senator Frank Church).

Long time CIA veterans began complaining about Mr. Turner's abrasive, arrogant style. So Turner callously decided to clean house. On Halloween of '77, Turner circulated a photocopied memo informing 800 staffers (mostly Republicans) of their dismissal. Many of the people fired were seasoned agents, going all the way back to the OSS of World War II. A lot of them spoke Arabic, and were fluent in other foreign languages.

It has been noted by many historians that Stansfield Turner was the single worst senior presidential appointment in U.S. history. Turner has been described as..."a CIA traitor, appointed by Jimmie Carter to castrate the agency...In eliminating virtually all human intelligence on the ground, he put the U.S. at a strong disadvantage, especially in the Middle East and Afghanistan".

But Obama and his idealogues have decided to repeat History 30 years later, just like the last liberal president who ruined the CIA with an inexperienced, party hack appointee.

Leon Panetta may not know very much about foreign affairs or defense matters. He is wholly unacquainted with the questions and quarrels that have roiled the U.S. intelligence community for a half century. But, as a veteran political warrior, he will do what President Obama expects of him.
