Why our spies failed us--the Democratic wall of shame

Here's a little brain-teaser for all you 80's music trivia buffs. Recall the Autumn of 1984 when the English group, "The Fixx", broke onto the pop charts with their smash hit..."One Thing Leads to Another."

The song was not only the group's biggest hit, but carried a resounding message that could serve as a motto for America to avoid another possible 9-11-- or perhaps even, a possible Third World War.

When it comes to America's most famous foreign policy blunders, it was indeed, one thing that led to another.

In 1977, Jimmy Carter, (the "Mr. Rogers" of U.S. presidents) made one of the most ill-conceived decisions of all time: He issued an executive order placing all nine U.S. intelligence agencies under Stansfield Turner, who's primary qualification for the job was that he had served as Carter's trustworthy buddy & college roommate.

It was a fateful decision back then that may continue to haunt America for the rest of this century.

Turner-- having no spy agency or intelligence experience-- issued an administrative order to curb the clandestine activities that had brought the CIA partisan criticism from Idaho Senator Frank Church-- yet another liberal do-gooder who would damage America irreparably.

On Halloween, 1977, Turner circulated a surprise memo informing 800 CIA agents & staffers of their dismissal. Many of these ex-agents went all the way back to the OSS of World War II. Many spoke Arabic, Farsi, and were highly fluent in other foreign languages.

Literally overnight-- as far as our ability to gather intelligence-- the U.S. was now flying blind. But that was only the beginning of the ironic castration of the CIA (and our other intelligence capabilities on the ground) that led up to 9-11-- and beyond.

Under Congressional pressure-- led once again by the treasonous, foolhardy Senator Church-- the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was enacted in1978 after revelations of domestic spying "abuses" by the FBI, CIA and NSA were documented in reports issued by the "Church Committee" in the Senate.

Carter stupidly signed the act, twittering gleefully... "One of the most difficult tasks in a free society like ours is the correlation between adequate intelligence to guarantee our nation's security on one hand, and the preservation of basic human rights on the other."

And so then our intelligence was hamstrung and hampered, the colossal blunder eventually culminated in 9-11, and is now continuing to wreak havoc upon our foreign policy to this very day.

Yes as the song goes...one thing leads to another; a list that could be likened to an unbroken chain of foreign policy follies:

1978--the pro-USA Shah of Iran is deposed
1979-The hostage crisis- the origin of radical Islam/worldwide Muslim terrorist movement
1980-the Russian's surprise invasion of Afghanistan
1982-the Marine barracks at Lebanon is destroyed by a truck bomb
1991-Saddam invades Kuwait- a total surprise to the US
1993- the World Trade Center bombing
2000- the destroyer Cole is attacked & nearly sunk
2001- September 11
2003-faulty intelligence leads to Iraq invasion

Would any of these have happened if Carter had not dismantled the CIA?

Fortunately, Ronald Reagan appointed William Casey to form a new branch within the CIA -- the super-secret Directorate of Operations (DO)-- and US intelligence was saved from even sliding further into oblivion during the latter part of the 80's.

But the loss of  800 highly-experienced CIA agents had done irreparable harm; and to this day, the US has few ways of operating clandestinely in the Middle East.

After Carter's CIA calamity, we had no one who could "blend in" within an enemy country. No one to speak the dialect or "know the ropes"--we  could only eavesdrop via satellite or listening post--our ground capabilities had been completely trashed by the Carter/ Turner twins of liberal treason against America.

By the time Clinton took over in '93, al-Qaida correctly perceived him as another fllppy liberal and decided to bomb the World Trade Center--having no fear of reprisal.

But Clinton's most fateful decision was the icing on the cake Carter had baked to cripple America abroad-- he "custom-created" an appointment to use the U.S. Dept. of Justice in places Janet Reno would not dare to tread:

Jamie Gorelick was picked as "deputy Attorney General" to serve as "Sheriff" Clinton's chief deputy of cover ups.

Her role? It was to prevent overseas information (via the CIA) from uncovering the Chinese campaign money scandal, and having it reach the FBI in Washington.

Gorelick eagerly began looking for ways to use the U.S. Dept. of Justice to smother the potentially explosive Clinton scandal-and Eureka--it turned out to be Church's FISA law!
She created a "firewall" that prevented the  FBI to cross over to the CIA  and detect Clinton's super-stealthy, dastardly foreign shenanigans.

Gorelick's enthusiasm in enforcing FISA eventually cast her a prime player in the blame game for 9/11. It is she that made it impossible for our intelligence agencies to cooperate, and created the domestic hole for Mohammed Atta and his fellow terrorists to operate within.

Recall the middle 1990s. Messrs. Charlie Trie and John Huang were taking illegal money from the Chinese-- laundering it-- then passing it on to the Clinton campaign fund. They were often seen carrying suspicious brown paper bags when they visited Washington.

If these activities had been investigated thoroughly, Clinton's presidency would have made Nixon look saintly.

And so Jamie Gorelick saw to it that the FBI and CIA were not able to "co-mingle" any criminal or security investigations. In her infamous March 4, 1995 memo, she instructed then-FBI Director Louis Freeh that for the sake of "appearances" the FBI would be required to adhere to an interpretation of the law far stricter than the FISA Act required.

This so-called loophole in FISA erected her famous "wall" between various aspects of our counter-terrorism programs between the CIA and the FBI.

If the Chinese scandal information had ever reached the FBI, Bill Clinton would have not only lost in '96 to Dole, he would have been impeached for high crimes, instead of for his "Monica misdemeanor."

Ironically, US government agents knew of Mohammed Atta’s affiliation with al-Qaeda fully two years before 9/11, but the Clinton-era policies had prevented CIA intelligence officials from sharing that information with the FBI

The effect of the wall confined the CIA to conducting intelligence abroad, while the FBI was confined to counter intelligence at home --BUT-- they had to follow "due process guidelines," or else information could NOT be introduced as evidence in a US courtroom.

So we now had 2 slicks in the Whitehouse-- slick Willie & slick Jamie.

And so again our intelligence community was hamstrung and hampered, which eventuated in 9-11-- the most massive failure of US intelligence since since Pearl Harbor--all because of the ironic legal handicapping from Gorelick's "Chinese wall".

In the days before September 11, the wall specifically impeded the investigation into Zacarias Moussaoui. After the FBI arrested him, agents became suspicious of his interest in commercial aircraft, and sought a criminal warrant to search his computer. The warrant was rejected because FBI officials feared breaching the wall.

The FBI's Washington lawyers had contended..."they lacked sufficient evidence to satisfy the 1978 FISA act."

When Moussai was picked up for immigration problems, FBI investigators were prevented from telling counter-terrorism agents that his personal computer contained names of Arab men enrolled in flight schools. These Arab men proved to be the 9/11 hijackers!

One thing leads to another.

Historians note that it was the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I, but eventually caused the Second World War. But will Gorelick's infamous memo ironically spark a possible future World War III?

In the early days of the Clinton presidency, China began focusing on obtaining our most up-to-date nuclear weapons and misille technology.

The espionage "succeeded" largely of the Goelick's memo, which she originally had wielded to keep secret the $4 million in campaign contributions funneled into the Clinton war chest  by our good friends, John Huang, and Charlie Trie-- members of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA)-- a cover for the intelligence agency of Red China.

It may turn out to be blood money.

What was lost to China-- US rocket booster tech and nuclear intelligence-- was made in return for millions in illegal campaign donations in the run-up to Clinton's 1996 re-election.

One of the most important investigations hindered by the Gorelick memo involved a Taiwan-born Chinese-American scientist who worked for the University of California at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Dr. Wen Ho Lee, who was wanted by the FBI.

A FISA warrant was issued on Lee’s personal computer for evidence that he was passing on nuclear secrets to China. It was later subsequently denied. Lee had been charged with 59 counts of espionage. All but one were dropped; and the penalty was time served.

Is it possible this "failure to okay a FISA warrant " was a quid pro quo?

In a 1978 republican investigation of the cover up, Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Nicholson revealed.. "for some reason, there is a department attempt to thwart a review of charges that the DNC and the Clinton/Gore 1996 Reelection Committee gave seats on Commerce Department trade missions in exchange for contributions."

But after a full twenty-one months after accusations of illegal fund raising, law enforcement officials eventually conceded they had no way to prove anything--again thanks to Gorelick's memo.

Jesus once said in the gospel of Matthew..." do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing". And that is precisely what the Gorelick memo had done --keep U.S. intelligence agencies flying blind all throughout the 90's-- and unable for the FBI on the right, and the CIA on the left --to know what each was doing.

In his testimony to the 9-11 Commission, Attorney General John Ashcroft told the commission..."We did not know an attack was coming, because for nearly a decade, our government had blinded itself to its enemies. Our agents were isolated by government-imposed walls".

Predictably, the tragic consequences of Gorelick's memo have since received scant attention in the liberal media; but for all practical purposes, it--along with Carter's CIA folly, and Senator Church's insistence on passing FISA-- cannot be held as some simple (albeit monumental) blunder, but could rather be classified as seditious malfeasance.

But in retrospect, is it any wonder-- that despite all the cataclysmic consequences of our blunders-- America continues to be hamstrung  by lack of foreign intelligence? And with the appointment of Leon Panetta as our newest CIA director, clandestine will still be out, and US intelligence capabilities will continue to careen downhill even further.

Could the United States have won World War II without intelligence?

Could the independent state of Israel have survived for 60 years without its fabled intelligence force-- the Mossad? Would that nation still remain if it had been tied down by some foolish restrictions regarding secrecy or human rights?

But this is what intelligence agencies do-- preserve the safety of an ENTIRE nation!

By playing hardball with the enemy (torture, interrogation, coercion, deception) you trade some human suffering on the part of your foe, for the saving of your own countrymen's lives, and you AVOID--not INVITE--any surprise attacks.

But liberals shy away from such tactics in the name of human rights and being fair, and will continue to lead America down the doomsday path to more foreign policy disasters.

The "Obama Doctrine"...defending America by cutting the military

Publius Flavius Vegetius was a noted military strategist from the late Roman empire.

Despite having a name sounding more like a star from the Food Channel, Mr. Flavius was also a renowned author, whose famous work, "Epitoma Rei Militari" (A Summary of Military Matters) served as a guidebook for military commanders for centuries, long after its "publishing" (circa 390 AD).

Nothing is known of his life or station beyond what Flavius tells us in his work, which carries his most famous and well-known quote ..."Si vis pacem para bellum"-- "IF YOU WANT PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR"!

It seems that ole Flavius had the right idea way back then, for it's as though nothing has changed in the world for 1700 years hence -- a nation not prepared for war nowadays will most surely not long experience peace.

But apparently back in the mid 90's, Mr. slick-Willie Bill Clinton never got the memo, who's reckless actions with China then have now greased the skids for a possible future war.

In spring 1996, China had responded angrily to a foolhardy decision by President Clinton to allow Taiwan President Lee Teng-hui to visit the U.S. So Beijing began "scheduling" missile launches in the Taiwan Strait as part of Chinese war games. These tests were clearly meant to intimidate the people of Taiwan.

But in it's own show of force, Washington dispatched two aircraft carriers to the strait of Taiwan --the Independence and the Nimitz-- to ensure peace and fulfill its role as Taiwan's security guarantor.

The display of U.S. might led Beijing to back down; but Clinton's gunboat diplomacy  nearly succeeded in blundering the US into a Sino-American War-- a fact which has since been smothered by the liberal press.

Clinton had failed to realize a most salient point: the Chinese have always taken Taiwan more seriously than the Clinton administration could have ever imagined; and of course, adding to the miscalculation, our intellIgence at the time was faulty.

After Mr. Clinton's dire provacation, China, instead of going to war, vowed revenge.
The Chinese had learned a lesson-- it was time to muscle up.

Beijing decided that it would go all out to develop a way to  wipe out the nearly invincible stature of the "umbrella defense" shrouding all American attack carriers. The result? The deadly DF-21 missile.

Recently, details have begun to emerge from "Jane's Fighting Ships" of this 'kill weapon' to target & destroy U.S. aircraft carriers-- an anti-ship ballastic missile with up to a range of 2000 km. The sheer size of the DF-21 enables it to carry a warhead big enough with the capability of destroying a U.S. supercarrier in one initial strike.

But what's most intimidating is the incredible speed at which it flies upward (making it highly invulnerable to interception). The DF-21 rises above the atmosphere at Mach-10, reaching its maximum range in less than 12 minutes. It then plunges rapidly with "smart bomb" guidance capability to strike a moving target at sea-- thereby rendering the US naval carrier umbrella almost useless.

Imagine all US carriers-- going the way of the World War II battleships-- becoming obsolete almost overnight... all through the courtesy of Mr William Jefferson Clinton.

And the Chinese are manufacturing thousands of the DF-21's, with long-on odds of getting through any possible US defenses by sheer overwhelming numbers.

But how could the Chinese have come so far so fast, when back in 1993 , China could barley boost a satellite into earth orbit? Well take a guess. Mr. Clinton sold critical missile technology to the Communist Chinese in return for campaign contributions.

Back in the early 90's, Chinese "boost vehicles" were grossly unreliable. On average, only one satellite launch in four could be expected to succeed.

American companies, especially those in the communication & satellite businesses, had been paying hundreds of millions of dollars to launch their products on U.S. boost vehicles.  Then Mr. Clinton came up with a clever deception: for "economic efficiency", he encouraged US companies to collaborate their space technology with Red China, the premise being the cost of using a Chinese booster was just $25 to $85 million per satellite launch, as opposed to four times that in the US.

Thus, in pursuit of this "efficiency goal," US space tech companies such as Motorola, Hughes, and Loral fatefully decided to share America's most sensitive missile technology secrets such as  "altitude-control systems", and how to test fire a "kick motor" for the booster's last stage.

The perfection of this kick motor gave China the same American technology to launch MIRVs (multiple, independently targeted re-entry vehicles), and "hydra-warheads" that vastly increase the firepower of nuclear missiles.

The intricate details involved in the transferring of such critical military technology have since been covered up and scrubbed from all official US documents. But the damage had been done; the 8 years of the Clinton presidency coincided with the most massive breach of military security in American history.

Mr. Clinton, in his best imitation of Pontius Pilate, has since dismissed the horrendous technology transfers as being... "beneficial to commercial satellite technology".

Good job slick Willie...hope you enjoy the memory should the US and China ever come embroiled in a World War III.

Now, in fierce catch-up mode, China is modernizing its military at an astonishing rate. And besides the "foreign aid" from Mr. Clinton, the Russians have paid dearly for trusting the Chinese in selling them airplanes, their Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker-D carrier-borne fighter.

But China-- though reverse-engineering-- has copied the hard-hitting Su-27 Flanker fighter and its engine parts, re-designating the plane as the Shenyang J-11, an advanced fourth-generation fighter now serving with the Chinese Air Force.

Now the Russians, furious about this security breach, have subsequently suspended all further sales, having also miscalculated the growing ambition of the Chinese toward their avowed goal of displacing America as the world's #1 military power.

And our charming and trustworthy Chinese friends have all but  come out and declared it:

“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable: when using our forces, we must seem inactive: when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder and crush him.”
– Colonel Sun Tzu

On January 11, 2007, in a surprise event, the Chinese launched a missile from a mobile transporter-erector launcher (TEL) armed with a kinetic kill vehicle, and destroyed their own weather satellite from a low, polar orbit. This missile was launched with no advanced warning from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The Chinese are going all out to develop weapons to shoot down US satellites--something else that the liberal media has chosen to censor.

These weapons endanger not only intelligence and military satellites, but civilian networks as well-- precisely the reason they have been developing and testing these weapons, and as Chinese Colonel Tzu has stated-- “bring the opponent to its knees.”

And China has stated as much in a chilling excerpt from another military author:

In reading from Colonel Li Daguang’s "Space Warfare"... “Destroy or temporarily incapacitate all enemy satellites above our territory...counter US missile defense systems... maintain our good international image by covert deployment... utilize space strike weapons concealed and launched only in time of crisis.”

And now, can you just picture all the ever-confident Chinese generals gathered together in conference, watching a video spliced together of Barack Obama's "greatest hits"-- his testimony to unilaterally disarm America.

The Chinese cannot but help to draw one obvious conclusion: our new anti-president is another gullible liberal lily, following in the footsteps of Carter & Clinton, who also grossly had misjudged the intentions of our enemies.

Recall the words of "optimism" from then-candidate Barack Obama on the campaign trail last fall... "As president, my sole priority for defense spending will be protecting the American people".

But unfortunately, defending America is the one campaign promise Obama has recklessly decided not to keep:

Promise # 1: "I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful defense spending.”

Translation: Trillions for unemployment, welfare, state government subsidies, for ACORN, the illegal aliens and everything else-- but CUTS for the military.

Promise # 2: “I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.”

This is right at the very time that the ballistic missile danger to the US is real and growing; i.e. Kim Jong IL and North Korea.

Promise # 3: “I will not weaponize space.”

Our banking, communications and navigation systems almost entirely depend on satellites. Space lines of communication are as essential for commerce today as sea lines of communication were two centuries ago. Does Obama mean he wouldn’t provide defensive systems for our satellites? Apparently so.

Promise # 4: “I will slow our development of future combat systems.”

Our combat systems are becoming ancient. Our air force is flying B-52 aircraft, which are based on 1950s technology. Our army is driving 1960s and 1970s vintage vehicles. And older equipment is expensive, time consuming to maintain, and potentially dangerous, not to mention obsolete.

And while Mr. Obama blithely decides about setting aside national security and grossly cutting our military-- what about the economy stupid?

Following the installations of the policies Obama puts forth, the defense & aerospace industry will have to shut down a large percentage of their factories & offices; and the employment of hundreds of thousands of defense workers will be affected across 50 states.

The budgets from these programs comes directly from the Congressional Appropriation Acts every year, so the money would have been there had Obama decided otherwise. But with this reckless stoppage, cutting such a large portion of our technical work force leaves a huge gap in the gross national product.

But according to the "Obama Doctrine", what is more important is bowing down to the Taliban, North Koreans, the Iranians, and our good  friends Putin and the Communist Chinese. And since they're all so straightforward and peace loving, why should we need to spend on defense?

"Si vis pacem para bellum".  But will Obama bring war by preparing for peace?

Mr. Obama’s views reflect that of a knee-jerk liberal academic, who not only exhibits a shocking lack of knowledge of history, but also thinks that the US is the primary threat to world peace.

His naivete and his statements suggest a shocking misunderstanding of national security issues. And like Clinton, he could blunder America to the verge of a war with China-- a war they've been preparing to fight for almost 15 years!

But Mr. Obama does exhibit one unique presidential strength...he's not afraid to speak with our enemies, who see him as a weak appeaser, who violates Flavius' law-- preparing for peace and inviting war.

Thus Obama feels the need to Increase government spending on "more important" things like green energy initiatives, failed public schools, national healthcare, higher taxes, bigger government (except the military) etc.

And with co-president Michelle by his side (who may be actually calling the shots) he will march us on towards one world government under the UN, and his dream of a socialist utopia.

And what is scarier? Korea launching ICBM's unchallenged, Iran working on nuclear weapons capability, or Obama proposing to weaken our national defense? If he gets elected again for a second term, we could be defending ourselves with bows and arrows.

Both Obama and Clinton, along with the majority of liberals in Congress, have made their position very clear-- surrender is an option.

Obama isn't exactly going to go down in history as the next Teddy Roosevelt. Instead of carrying a big stick, he has chosen the path of your typical liberal lily, who will defend gays, the poor, the unemployed, the rights of women, criminals, illegal aliens, the prisoners of Gitmo, Hamas, Hezbollah, Castro, and everyone else -- but not the United States.

Exponential stupidity...believing Obama will defend America

Nuremberg Germany--1936: Hitler's 8th Party Congress "Rally of Honor" (Reichsparteitag der Ehre) celebrating the invasion of the demilitarized Rhineland, which back then, constituted the restoration of Germany's lost World War I military honor.

Today, everyone is familiar with that frenzied scene from the incorporated footage made at that Nuremburg rally, where Hitler spoke to the masses positioned in front of three towering columns-- emblazoned with 3 huge swatstikas as the backdrop:

"Seig-heil...seig heil..seig heil", shouted the frenzied crowd, as Hitler would pause after delivering one of his classic motivational one liners, as he sought to infuse his fellow Germans with the basis of Nazi fanatacism-- absolute unquestionable allegiance to "Mein Feuhrer!"

And late last summer in Denver-- as if a Rocky Mountain coronation were not lofty enough-- Barack Obama, in his best imitation of the rally at Nuremberg, seemed to aim for Mount Olympus when he stood  atop a podium in front of an enormous, Greek-columned stage, to accept his party's nomination for president of the U.S.

But just like Herr Hitler, Obama brazenly told his BIG LIE..."We are the party of Roosevelt. We are the party of Kennedy. So don't tell me that Democrats won't defend this country". And then, came forth the biggie.... "I will never hesitate to defend this nation."

But don't hold your breath waiting.

Since taking office, Mr. Obama has announced plans to close the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, to halt military trials of suspected terrorists there, and to make CIA officers follow the Army field manual’s rules on interrogations .

And by his mixed messages on all foreign policy fronts, he puts America in jeopardy for another Sept.11- clearly illustrating he's yet another flaming democratic liberal appeaser.

During his campaign, Obama purported to expand the size of the Army (false) and repeatedly suggested that he would launch unilateral military strikes into Pakistan in an effort to kill bin Laden. But that tough talk has now been toned down, and "unilateral" has been changed to "only after consultation" with the Pakistani government.

Barack talked Reagan-esque bold during his acceptance speech, but predictably, has shown Carter-esque appeasement in his first months as our anti-president.

Obama sees the world as though the enemy is just  like us. But they view his administration as an opportune time to time to extract apologies, build up their nuclear and conventional forces, and are secure in the knowledge that they'll be no consequences to aggression.

Meanwhile, to show his "toughness", Mr. Obama has pledged to send additional troops into Afghanistan to push back against the Taliban insurgency. But to what end? Unlike the Bush doctrine to eliminate al Quida and establish democracy in Iraq, there has been no definition of winning in the Afghan theater, because Afghanistan has been determined by most experts to be...the "unwinnable" war.

In his first fifty days, Obama sent out peace feelers to Iran, and offered a compromise to the Taliban. And now, he's proposing huge new aid to Pakistan (the same failed policy of the past three administrations).

Is Obama the reincarnation of Jimmy Carter-- or worse...Neville Chamberlain?

With his new, "get-nice-to-our-enemies" policy, he might as well have mailed engraved invitations to Bin Laden and al Qaida, to let them know it was open season on Americans again.

Appeasement is a formulation for disaster. It goes against our long-held foreign policy that the United States, as the world’s preeminent power, can only be secure if it reinforces its strength throughout the globe, and with no exceptions!

Throughout history, America's strongest presidents achieved greatness only through their projection of absolute military power--not through weakness by being some lily flower:

-Bush I rolled Saddam out of Kuwait
-Reagan bombed Libya and ended Moammar Khadaffi's international terrorist party
-Kennedy caused Khruschev to blink and then to withdraw Soviet missiles from Cuba
-Truman rolled back Stalin and the Communists, immediately after taking over for FDR
-Teddy Roosevelt walked with a big stick
-James Monroe in1825, said "keep out-- don't dare come into our western hemisphere!"

But as of now, we've returned to the Carter era of the late 70's, projecting nice-ness, and turning the other cheek.

And what if ruthless Islamic radicals test Obama? They tested President Carter and he failed-- and the cost of his failure was calamitous-- the radicalization of Iran, the rise of violent Islamist movements, the loss of a strategic ally, and the emboldening of America's adversaries worldwide (i.e. Osama bin Ladin), which culminated in 9-11.

Then after a "post-Carter' pause, Islamic radicals tested the next nice guy--Bill Clinton.

They tested Clinton in Somalia and he failed; they tested him in Tanzania and he failed; they tested him in New York City in 1993 and he failed. Finally, they tested him in Yemen in October of 2000 by ramming an explosive-filled boat into the USS Cole, killing 17 Americans and nearly sinking that ship.

Clinton failed his tests, confirming to Osama Bin Laden his view that America was a paper tiger-- prompting Sept.11.

And now we have Barack H. Obama, and his aversion to the use of force is written on his sleeve.

During the campaign, candidate Obama promised to hold non-conditional talks with America's foes-- making his bold statement that if elected..." he would open dialog with the enemies of this nation"

Then he "misspoke" about the "tiny" country of Iran, and about preemptively invading Pakistan, illustrating his shocking ineptitude in the realm of foreign policy and basic geography. And for sure, none of his statements (or his gaffe-prone political posturing) escaped the notice of America's enemies.

Even Joe Biden mused about the prospects of... “An international crisis.. a generated crisis...to test the mettle of this guy.”

So with cowboy-six gunner Bush long gone, and Mr. nicey-nice Obama on board, could our Muslim extremist friends be racing each other to "test" the mettle of our anti-president?

You can count on it.

Appeasement is always is provocative. It’s like waving a red cape in front of a bull-- a sign beckoning… "here we are, come 'n get it!"

And in yet another genuflection to our enemies abroad, Obama took another step for political correctness (and to please his radical Code Pink and ACLU supporters) by ending the classification of “enemy combatants." Then in a memo to the Pentagon, he changed the verbage from "war on terror" to..."overseas contingency operation".

How sweet! Imagine how our enemies in the Middle East must have interpreted it:

"Oh that Barack Obama, he's such a nice guy! We'll have to be nice in return. We'll just forget about all the Great Satan nonsense and let bygones be bygones-- and forget our Muslim extremism. And oh, that Obama has such a way with words! We just love his desire for a new America before the eyes of the world."

Obviously, Mr. Obama thinks he can use his speech abilities to entice Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, North Korea, etc., into falling in love with him and becoming a fan, just as he's always managed to do with all his other "fans" around the world.

And of course, in the eyes of the Obama administration, Ahkmadinejad, Putin, Bin Laden, Kim Jong II, Hamas, and Hezbollah, are all very obviously such nice guys themselves, and honest, forthright, open minded leaders; so we best trust them to behave as good world citizens.

Meanwhile, Obama can't turn away fast enough from the Bush policy of an aggressive war on terror:

First, he appointed an inexperienced lily to run the CIA, Leon Panetta, who has zilcho familiarity with espionage. Then he sends a letter to Iran expressing his willingness to open dialogue with that rogue nation.

And in an "outreach" to our enemies, he recently mailed a sweet letter-candy gram to the so-called moderate factions of the Taliban, proposing to end the Afghan insurgency. But it's blatantly obvious that it's the inflexible EXTREMIST Taliban leaders who are orchestrating the war-- not the moderates.

Maybe he can win over al Quida if he called Rocky Mosele of the international star registry, and named a heavenly body after Bin laden. Wouldn't that be nice?

But whatever, Obama believes that America is ALWAYS the bad guy, and that we should rehabilitate ourselves through following the wisdom of all liberals-- being nice and giving the other side a chance to "love" America.

So as his liberal supporters urge, let's all be patient and give Obama a chance:

-a chance to invite a domestic attack
-a chance to reduce our military by 25%
-a chance to be viewed by the world as a contrite nation, rather than carrying a BIG STICK
-a chance for Iran to complete its nuclear program to fruition
-a chance to leave our borders wide open, and for al-Qaida to sneak piece-by-piece an atomic weapon through  Mexico,  assemble it some mosque basement, then detonate in Times Square
-and a chance to blunder us into a flash war in the Middle East

And so far, all the nicey-niceness has worked just as we'd expect:

Iran has recently declared itself to be a space and nuclear power; North Korea is testing its ballistic missiles; and Russia is now using bases in Cuba as well as Venezuela.

America is a Christian country that values life-- while our terrorist enemies live to DIE for their beliefs. So we cannot ever let our guard down, because that can only have one eventual outcome--we will be attacked again, even with a nicey-smiley Obama in office.

Our enemies see Mr. Obama for what he really is-- a callow, accommodating, wildly inexperienced and weak foe. Unfriendly regimes and networks-- like oil-rich dictators (Hugo Chavez) and radical Islamist countries-- will always seek to exploit a tepid American foreign policy.

Will Russia take the opportunity to gobble up Ukraine? Will al-Qaeda now “pull out all the stops” to kill Americans? Will Lebanon “disintegrate"? And will Iranian President Mahmoud Ahkmadinejad  attack Israel and possibly sink ships at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, and cut off our Mideast oil supply?

So what would Mr. Smiley Obama do then... call the UN? Go on a "diplomatic  rampage" and send a strongly worded message?

Can you be a world class appeaser without being, at the same time, the enemy?

And worse, the effect of the recession now gives Obama a chance to weaken the entire infrastructure and personnel of the US military. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said, "The spigot of defense spending that opened on 9/11 is closing."

Obama promised, "I will cut tens of billion of dollars in wasteful spending." Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, thinks we can cut 25 percent from military spending WITHOUT impacting national security.

Once again, like the Carter--Clinton days, we'll have yet another attempt made to wreck our military by the liberal lunatics within the Democrat Party, who are not democrats, but are more aptly described as Communists in bureaucratic clothing.

If President Obama "brings the troops home" and dismantles much of our military to save money to help the poor masses, it will be an open invitation for Iran, North Korea, Russia, and China to attack us, and attempt to wipe us out once and for all.

30 years later--Obama caves to left and mimics Carter

Memo to president-elect Barack Obama: the recent terrorists attacks in India, underscore the reason why you must immediately withdraw Leon Panetta from the position of CIA director. The Mumbai attack could have been prevented, but India kept no intelligence personnel or police along their sea coast.

And Mr. Panetta has been a strong critic of the CIA's detention program and warrantless surveillance. He has equated the interrogation technique of waterboarding, or simulated drowning, with torture, and has said,  "It is illegal, immoral, dangerous, and counterproductive".

But without agency or any intelligence firsthand experience, how would a clueless Panetta be able to design a mission, or interrogate a key Al Quida operative, with radical Islam burgeoning worldwide, and the Taliban on the rise in Afghanistan? Is this any time for on the job training?

Panetta, a good manager-type of executive, is filling a position requiring someone with a adequate set of skills that would give him the AUTHORITY needed to run a spy agency. After all, would any big-city mayor have any hope of keeping his job if he were to appoint someone as police chief who'd never been a cop himself? Is there any difference here? This is nothing short of a massive blunder on Obama's part, despite what his liberal supporters of the appointment may say.

Obama seems to be conducting some mad scientist experiment with his attempt to prove that one need not be sophisticated in the field of spying to become the head of a department of spies. Obama is now playing with the safety of America. Panetta has absolutely no experience in the intelligence world, but was once the director of the Department of Management-basically another Clinton pencil-pusher running a new show. And if the country is attacked because of this, who would take responsibility? The liberal left, who basically coerced Obama into making such a clueless appointment?

Yes; it's that "change" thing again. Panetta has no knowledge of CIA structure or staffing, and will undoubtedly cause agency morale to plummet. This also means all the old CIA hands will be fired that support coercion, interrogation, eaves-dropping, and prisons. So who will replace them? The Peace Corps?

With Panetta at the CIA's helm, clandestine is out, and transparency is in. So now, let everyone in Congress be apprised of the agency's every move-that's the way to do it! Play "I've got a secret" on Capitol Hill. Homeland security is out, and Pollyanna is in. From now on, we'll make nice with Al Quida, and they'll certainly return the favor. Perhaps their next planned attack won't be as harsh. Maybe they'll switch from boxcutters to nail files in the new Panetta-Obama era of being nice to the bad guys.

And maybe if Iran's president, Ahmadinejad, NOW decides to attack Israel, or Osama hits New York again; Mr. Panetta and Obama can send a "strongly-worded" message to remind them that they're not being nice. So in this new era of being cute with our enemies, what would happen if maybe we did capture Osama? We wouldn't (couldn't) interrogate him under the new ground rules?

Yes; let's be nicer to our enemies, just turn the other cheek, and see how nicely they return the favor. If we had found Osama bin Laden before the Sept. 11 plot, and EXECUTED him, we might have avoided both the Afghanistan and the Iraq wars, prevented the 3000 casualties of 9-11; and the World Trade Center towers would still be proudly standing in lower Manhattan. Yes, that’s what a good, FUNCTIONING, CIA intelligence agency can do.

But the operative word here is 'functioning'- A CIA with no ability to get tough might as well become a branch of the USO, according to the liberal leftists. After all, the goal of the CIA is intelligence-not public relations, as Obama has suddenly come to believe by appointing the 70 year old Panetta .

But is there a reason Obama feels he needs to give Panetta a job? Is this some sort of a quid pro quo? This is a very poor fit based on Panetta's lack of experience. Does Leon have something on Barack, or could he possibly be this clueless?

Former intelligence veterans have a litany of concerns about what will amount to the most inexperienced intelligence director to be appointed since the creation of the CIA in 1947. And current employees are enraged that a political hack is being named CIA director. It's demeaning to the entire 20,000 person staff. It's painfully obvious to anyone with agency experience that Panetta is unqualified to lead the CIA-end of discussion-period!

In choosing Leon E. Panetta to be the next CIA director, President-elect Obama appears to have concluded that a spy chief who understands politics, may be better equipped to carry out the incoming administration's national security agenda than one who understands espionage

This is like appointing the head of Starbucks as director of the FBI, because that person has great organizational experience. And what if the FBI had no powers of interrogation? What instead, if our public enemies were given coffee and donuts, and encouraged to discuss their experiences? How well would that work out?

Could the United States have won World War II without intelligence? Because the OSS was capable of killing certain Nazi operatives (and used clever deception), the Allies were able to convince Hitler that the D-day invasion would occur at Calais rather than Normandy. This shortened the war by at least a year, and possibly saved the entire western world!

Could the independent state of Israel have survived without its fabled intelligence force, the Mossad? It was the Mossad that uncovered the Arab plans for the 1967 Six Day war, where the Israelis knew the Egyptians and Syrians were coming; and the resulting pre-emptive Israeli air strikes prevented disaster and gave the conflict its name, "6 -Day War". How many lives were saved because of the brevity of this war?

But this is what intelligence agencies do --by playing hardball with the enemy (torture, interrogation, coercion, deception) you trade some human suffering on the part of your foe for the saving of your own countrymen's lives, and avoid any surprise attacks.

This is the purpose of intelligence-it's security. You save your own country from possible disaster through pre-emptive intelligence operatives: spy-vs-spy...We vs. Them. That's the real world out there. You will not be safe by playing softball with the enemy. Being  sneaky is a necessity- not by being open and playing goody-goody.

For years after World War II, U.S. intelligence forces had done their job well. The CIA succeeded in stalemating the KGB during the Cold War era in Asia . The agency had been staffed by the former members of the OSS , our World War II spy service. Before 1977, the CIA was highly effective world wide in keeping Washington informed as to what our enemies were up to.

But then came the election of Jimmie Carter in 1976, and the sad dismantling of a once-proud, highly-motivated intelligence organization. Carter, like all liberals, believed in being "fair". So what did Carter see as the first place to single out for reforming? It was those nasty, dastardly, secretive, 'immoral' CIA brigands. After all, hadn't the CIA taken part in assassinations, deception, blackmail, torture, and other knavish misdeeds during the 50 's and 60's?

Today, it can be noted back in history when Carter made one of the most ill-conceived presidential decisions of all time: He issued an executive order that placed all nine U.S. intelligence agencies under the coordination of one man: CIA Director Stansfield Turner, who was 54 years old at that time

Stansfield Turner had no agency or intelligence experience of any kind. He was Jimmie Carter's college roommate at the Naval Academy. Carter probably would have done just as well to appoint Mr. Rogers, or Mr. Magoo for that matter, because like Carter, Turner saw the world through rose colored glasses, and was blind to the true realities that indeed, America had many implacable enemies around the world, especially in the Middle East

In October of 1977, Turner issued an administrative order to sharply curb many of the clandestine practices that had brought the CIA much of its criticism from the liberal members in Congress back then (i.e. Idaho Senator Frank Church).

Long time CIA veterans began complaining about Mr. Turner's abrasive, arrogant style. So Turner callously decided to clean house. On Halloween of '77, Turner circulated a photocopied memo informing 800 staffers (mostly Republicans) of their dismissal. Many of the people fired were seasoned agents, going all the way back to the OSS of World War II. A lot of them spoke Arabic, and were fluent in other foreign languages.

It has been noted by many historians that Stansfield Turner was the single worst senior presidential appointment in U.S. history. Turner has been described as..."a CIA traitor, appointed by Jimmie Carter to castrate the agency...In eliminating virtually all human intelligence on the ground, he put the U.S. at a strong disadvantage, especially in the Middle East and Afghanistan".

But Obama and his idealogues have decided to repeat History 30 years later, just like the last liberal president who ruined the CIA with an inexperienced, party hack appointee.

Leon Panetta may not know very much about foreign affairs or defense matters. He is wholly unacquainted with the questions and quarrels that have roiled the U.S. intelligence community for a half century. But, as a veteran political warrior, he will do what President Obama expects of him.

America's proud OPEC "alliance"... will it pave the way to permanent energy dependence?

Shiver me timbers...those meany Saudi Arabians are at it again! They are out to pirate a big price hike for a barrel of crude oil with their announcement of a huge OPEC production cut. And two other non-OPEC outsiders, Russia and Azerbaijan, also announced similar production cuts, in sympathy with the move of the Saudis.

In a quote from the New York Times, it was reported that..."Saudi Arabia, the world’s top exporter, issued a cut of 2.2 million barrels a day, or the equivalent of 2.5 percent of global production, to “bring things in balance,” according to the Saudi oil minister, Ali-al-Naimi" (unquote).

OPEC and the oil ministers of the 11 nations, under the group's quota system, agreed to take a total of 4.2 million barrels a day off the market, the largest single production reduction in history.

Oh well; just when it looked like cheap, buck-n-a-half gas might be the remedy for an America mired in a debilitating, bone-rattling recession, we can instead look for prices to zoom back up to $2.50-3.00/gallon in the next 3-6 months or so, because OPEC is taking no chances: they've seen this "oil-oversupply" movie before, and they'll keep cutting production until the price gets back up to the 70 dollar-a-barrel level.

But what is most disturbing, is that Americans have also seen this exact same movie before in the 1990's, and learned ZILCH. Bill Clinton's presidency is widely regarded as the 'roaring 90's'. But Clinton was a leftist liberal, who luckily benefited from the perfect storm of falling oil prices, productivity gains of the computerized workplace, the explosive growth of the internet, and the concomitant dot-com job creation machine.

And in the eye of the perfect storm, was a republican Congress, who passed welfare reform, drilling in ANWAR, and a balanced budget-- and literally dragged a reluctant, kicking and screaming Bill Clinton, into a golden decade of prosperity.

But the Clinton administration made one of the most costly and long term damaging blunders in U.S. economic history, when slick Willie vetoed the congressional bill to initiate drilling in ANWAR. Back then, Mr. Clinton had 'succumbed' to the radical, Al Gore environmental lobby, and willingly danced at the end of the puppet strings of the Sierra Club.

But Clinton's 1995 veto didn't just restrict drilling in ANWAR. His lethal blunder set the stage for grievous long-term structural damage to the U.S. economy, due to the eventual result of the ban: a huge net capital outflow of  $700 billion annually to OPEC over the last decade, with no end in sight.

The veto also set the precedent for the current political-environmental insanity we have today, where 4 trillion dollars worth of American oil reserves have been declared to be both illegal, and also to be a supposed ecological disaster waiting to happen.

What America stubbornly refuses to learn is that OPEC has directly affected the quality of our lives just as much as Congress, or any of the presidents or foreign wars in the last 40 years. Consider where America would be if ANWAR had come online in 2000, and the price of gas had stayed below a dollar-fifty/gallon. What then? Would we even be in a recession today?

Well, for starters, the U.S. would now be producing close to 50% of its domestic needs, rather than the current 30%. Instead, were importing 70% of our oil, and U.S. domestic production from aging oil fields is currently dropping at a rate of 2% a year. In just the next decade, we will be importing better than 80% of our oil, and falling further down into the unsustainable drain of our capital outflow to the foreign oil producers.

Currently, the United States remains a capital starved country. We produce practically nothing. We import almost everything. We are literally a debtor nation; and when it comes to our energy needs, we’ve been reduced to the status of a BEGGAR nation. Our economic fortunes are no longer in our own hands, but in those of the very people who despise our culture and way of life, and will do all they can to see us continue to falter.

And as a beggar nation, a once-proud America can only hope and beg for OPEC not to continue to short their production, and further burden the world's economy with yet another energy price shock, similar to the four dollar gas we saw as recently as last summer; and which is sure to return again--it's only a question of when.

But regarding our self-defeating energy policy, we're the nation of hope. We can only hope oil prices stay low. We can only hope that OPEC doesn't get any greedier. We can only hope that somehow, a new miraculous source of alternative energy will magically emerge to replace oil, and provide us with the hope for cheaper energy prices, and better times ahead. Yes, let's all just sit back, and keep on hoping for the best.

But hope is basically an excuse for DOING NOTHING.  And given the current political climate, it's what America does best...doing nothing but hoping, and watching our standard of living decline ever further, with every new tanker of foreign oil that docks within our ports.

But can their be any hope that America will see any relief from OPEC, when the politics of the country is so virulently against 'Big Oil'? Barack Obama, during his presidential campaign, cleverly was able to create a common enemy, the Exxon corporation, and constantly railed against "big oil" as though Exxon was being run by Lucifer himself. This political insanity of opposing domestic oil companies is only going to make a bad situation much worse, as the rest of the entire industrialized world seeks to develop new oil resources, while America is worried about turning back the oceans, and saving polar bears from drowning.

Perhaps Obama will consider a new State Department cabinet position-- the Secretary of Hope. This person would be in constant contact, and travel abroad to brownie-up the various OPEC heads of state, and tell the oil producers very nicely that... "We sure hope you don't lower your oil production!". This person would also be informing the Chinese that we hope they DO change their plans to horizontally drill offshore with their partner Cuba, and hope they DON'T suck our domestic reserves dry from underneath the Florida continental shelf just 60 miles offshore of OUR borders.

But goshdarn; it's just so much easier to hope, because reality seems so bleak. OPEC is out for OPEC. And the Chinese are out for China. They care not about America. They only seek what's best for their countries, and undoubtedly howl about the folly of the United States for restricting its own oil production for none other than blatantly insipid political reasons, like putting the prosperity of people subservient to the welfare of animals.

And because of the blunders beginning with Clinton, our OPEC "alliance" will continue to keep us over a barrel for the next decade or so, given the politics of the day, as the Obama Administration teams up with an expanded liberal majority in Congress. And this same majority will no doubt begin an all new, even more disastrous environmental assault on "Big Oil" in the next four years, and continue to enrich OPEC to the unnecessary detriment of our nation.

Ah yes, let's all sit back and enjoy the honeymoon of Barack Obama!

In 1988, George H.W. Bush campaigned on a promise of no new taxes, and handily defeated Mike Dukakis, the hapless Massachusetts liberal, in a mini landslide.

But by 1991, the clever Tip O’Neil (then democratic Speaker of the House) convinced the conservative Bush that a tax hike was needed to "shrink the expanding deficit". So Bush, in "a spirit of cooperation", warily acceded to the idea. But the deficit only widened, and the economy got weaker as more jobs were lost.

And despite Bush's masterful performance in the First Gulf War, James Carville and the other Clintonians, skillfully outmaneuvered the Republicans with the famous, "it's the economy stupid" mantra; and exit polls revealed that voters had elected Clinton mainly because Bush had lied about raising taxes.

Clinton took office, and promptly hiked taxes even higher.

Now flash forward to the remarkable similarity we have today.

Presently, our exalted president-elect, Barack Obama, is acting presidential in spades. He is rattling off new economic proposals faster than an auctioneer can bid up prices.

Obama continues to name an an ever-expanding array of new advisors, creating a brigade of impressively-credentialed former fed chairmen, ex-treasury secretaries, and hallowed economists, all too numerous to name without losing one's breath.

By the time Obama's done naming new advisors, they may have to construct a new office building on Capitol Hill to chair them all. But too many cooks spoil the soup.

And Obama knows the only true economic indicator that matters is the stock market. It is the true barometer and keeper of the nation's wealth and prosperity; and despite the recent upward movement, it's only--in the parlance of a broker--"a bear market rally".

The stock market tells the real economic truth. The value of its shares are the sum and substance of all the nation's businesses, and the insider-stockholders of each company know what's to come. They set the pace for the market's trend; and right now it's SOUTH. And will America continue to see its wealth disappear in fear of the socialist taxman, Barack Obama?

Investor behavior is seeded in emotion...there is fear... there is greed. The market despises uncertainty. And now there is great uncertainty about Obama's future tax policy.

This uncertainty fosters doubt. Doubt leads to fear. Fear leads to selling. Nothing complex; it's how any market works. But despite all his advisors, does Mr. Obama understand this?

But the one thing Mr. Obama undoubtedly does understand, is that he could easily calm the turbulent waters of the Dow Jones with a simple pronunciation..."No Wall Street; I won't raise taxes in a downturn!"

But Obama, ever the clever politician, is already plotting ahead for his second term, and he will not dare risk it by repeating the mistake of the first George Bush. So he will phlegmatically stand aside while the market trends ever lower; destroying the wealth of Wall Street and Main Street alike. Investors realize that raising taxes in a falling economy is akin to throwing an anchor to a drowning man, and they would rather sell now than risk drowning  later.

But criticizing our august-sounding president-elect, is an exercise in futility. Obama acts confident, and sounds SO reassuring, that it only invites return fire and vicious liberal counter-attacks..."How can you say that about our new president?...what do you know?...give him a chance!...look what that *^*#**!* Bush did to us!... and now, look at all Obama is doing!

Yes America; let's look at what Obama is actually doing. His disastrous tax proposals are slowly crashing the market, just like it did between 1929-1932, when it went up and down, and trended ever lower. And all the while, the so-called "experts" said not to worry-- everything would be back to normal. But it wasn't. And it wasn't until 1954 that the market fully recovered.

So Mr Obama...what happened to your abandoned friend-advisor, Warren Buffet, who only a few month ago was your chief economist? He's a fallen star, and lies drowned in your political wake.

Only a few months ago, Mr. Buffet, the investor "expert", also urged America not to worry--and to step up and buy, because "stocks were on sale". As of today, Buffet has surrendered approximately 30% of his wealth, and there is no end in sight to the market's descent. And he can thank his buddy Barack...but he will not be able to return the favor.

Oh, and one other thing Mr Buffet sir...how about that saying of yours..."being fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful". People are obviously fearful now.

Recall how Obama got elected: he created common "enemies" of the people..."Exxon made 14 billion in profit last quarter"..."Big Oil is greedy"..."Bush-Cheney's failed tax-cuts for the wealthy"... "Wall Street greed is causing pain on Main Street." Is there a pattern in all this? To Obama and his cadre of liberal advisors, PROFIT is a dirty word, and tax cuts are verboten!(forbidden). And Wall Street knows this, and this will continue to tank the market ever lower.

And where has train-ridin' Joe Biden disappeared to? Did he board the wrong Amtrak departure? Yes, Joe Biden-- he of the patriotic tax hike mantra-- has also been abandoned by the Machiavellian Obama, who knows that he doesn't dare hint about his plans to tax the coal industries to bankruptcy, and force all smoke-stack industries to knuckle under to draconian new environmental regulations. And once again, the corporate insiders of the stock market are keenly aware, because THEY will suffer the most with these costly new regulations.

In Washington, Obama recently made a speech about, "forming new policies... adopting new ideas coming from fresh voices.... and new ways of thinking". How glorious! But it's just that old famous Obamian rhetoric, because Obama (the political kite) only does what he needs to do for the moment.

And right now, what he only needs to do, is to keep the rhetorical fires burning, and APPEAR to be really doing something, and keep his critics at bay. But he'll callously continue to ignore the true situation at hand - the falling stock market-- which will  give him all the more reason to blame his favorite common enemy...the failed republican policies of the Bush administration..

And what new economic policies and ideas could possibly be out there? The laws of economics are basic…there is supply, and there is demand: and in a perfect world the two are always in balance. If you short one side, the other becomes bloated. There's only two options...either supply side, where you incentify producers, or the demand side, where you incentify the consumers.

And oops...we almost forgot! During your campaign, Mr. Obama, you constantly assured everyone there would be 5 million new green energy jobs created. Then after your election, it was about creating 2.5 milion new jobs in infrastructure, and in making houses and buildings more energy efficient. But now, it's about creating and SAVING 2.5 million jobs. And by next week, what will it be down to then?

But the actual boom in jobs created, will be in you favorite sector-- the federal government-- your employer of first (and likely last) resort. Wow, there sure won't be any recession or tough times in this sector! And ironically, you plan on spending more money in the next 2 years "creating" all this great assemblage of jobs, agencies and government programs, than the cost of the entire six year war in Iraq. And all the while, your glorified promise of the five million new renewable energy jobs will fade off into the political sunset.

So will we all see a return to prosperity? Only the federal government will prosper if this is to occur. Now couple this to all the infrastructure deficit spending, and the national debt could explode toward 15 trillion dollars. Oh well, if Bush doubled the deficit to five trillion, ole Barack-O and his congressional cohorts certainly are not to be outdone...they'll be more than proud to triple it.

And all the while, the more people who lose their jobs in the private sector, they will, in a sense, then be working for the government in the category titled "newly dependent". And Barack is quite aware of this economic law of averages... once there's enough of those who must survive on a government stipend, after the ratio approaches 45%-50% of the population, his re-election is assured.

But right now, as things get worse, Mr Obama, you'll still be on your honeymoon. And you'll use your political license as president-elect to constantly blare away about the " disastrous economy you inherited from George  Bush", our #1 common enemy, “who caused all this”.

Your just so smart, Mr Barack Obama; no one since Niccolo Machiavelli himself, has ever been so politically clever as you.

Will our learning-disabled Congress spend us into a second Great Depression?

The National Debt Clock in New York City has run out of digits to record the growing figure. The economy continues to get worse. The housing glut endures. Fearful consumers are turning from the yellow of caution to the red alert of panic. Retail stores are doing all but giving away merchandise to avoid going dark next year.  Banks and other financial institutions continue to suffer more losses.

Other than that, the out come for the U.S. economy looks stellar, especially now that the new era of Baracko-nomics is about to get underway! Hi ho and its off to the unemployment line we go!

And to what great economic heights will the Chosen One lead us in his first four years in the new Camelot of Obama?

On his recent "60 Minutes" interview, Barack was asked rather bluntly by CBS"s Steve Kroft: "Is there a point where just going to the Treasury Department and printing more money ceases to be an option?"

Obama : "We shouldn't worry about the deficit next year or even the year after...The most important thing is that we avoid a deepening recession, and we have the tools," the president-elect said .

Atta boy Barack-o! Don't back down! Show everyone that the naysayers were wrong when they accused you of having no working knowledge of either business or economic principles. We know you'll show 'em all when you break out the old reliable democratic tool for any economic problem.. the old reliable printing press in the basement at the Fed.

The primary originator of the printing press as an economic tool, was good ole LBJ. In the late 60's, the Vietnam war costs were spiraling out of control. Johnson was sinking in political quicksand, trying to pay for an unpopular and unexplained war without raising taxes, but yet without cutting all the political promises he made about his Great Society social programs. Congress bitterly opposed his idea of a 6% tax hike, and  all the while, the pentagon's budget was exploding with the war's spiraling costs.

Inflation was bubbling up. The dollar was sinking. Every time president Johnson appeared on TV to announce another troop escalation, he looked as if he'd aged another ten years. Poor LBJ!.."oh woe is me...what can I do?"

So Mr. Johnson decided to set a economic democratic precedent that has flourished to this very day... he would deal with the problem using his new C& P program...Conceal the problem...and keep it Painless-- unleash a new federal reserve strategy-- run the printing presses!

In all its previous wars, the U.S. had paid for them by tax hikes, or selling what the old timers refer to as "war bonds". But Johnson had the fed crank out approximately 200 billion in paper currency to avoid a tax hike, and keep his Great Society ship of state afloat. But by march of1968, the wolf was at the Whitehouse door.

Back in those days, the dollar's role was to act as the world's reserve currency. But the dollar suffered its first black eye when the U.S. began defaulting on that role by allowing its short term liabilities in the form of dollars held by foreigners, to FAR exceed its short term assets in the form of readily available gold. Inflation began to worsen and the dollar began to sink even lower.

Then Richard Nixon attempted to sit on the country's inflationary suitcase, when he went off the gold standard and instituted rent and price controls in 1971. Naturally the suitcase burst open in 1973 when inflation rocketed to 7%. So tricky Dicky Nixon devalued the dollar to juice the U.S. trade balance, and it boomed the economy from the export side of the ledger; and for awhile, the economy thrived for the first part of that year.

But in late 1973, oil prices quadrupled during the Yom Kippur war ,and the U.S. economy  went into an OPEC-stimulated tailspin. But the irreparable damage to the U.S. dollar had been done; never again would it be pegged to the price of gold; it would float up or down in relation to the other currencies of the world.

And then there were those oh so happy days of Jimmie Carter, (the next democratic-economic prodigy), bringing his stellar financial expertise to Washington as a peanut farmer. Carter created the "misery" index-- double digit unemployment, double digit inflation; and double digit interest rates-- a triple header of legendary disaster ! New terms such as "stagflation" were added to our lexicon during the Carter era . He indeed had succeeded in making peanuts out of the economy.

The only thing that saved the country from an economic calamity was the opening of the Alasakan oil pipeline, which saw the price of gas drop precipitously in1977, and gave a huge economic boost because of the big increase it brought to the people's disposable incomes back then.

Clinton, the next democrat, was widely depicted as having balanced the budget, putting everyone back to work, and reducing welfare. But Clinton may have been the luckiest president of the 20th century, largely as a function of  being in the right place at the right time.

Had not Ross Perot siphoned 7% of the vote from incumbent George Bush senior, Clinton would probably be serving out his life term back in Arkansas as its most popular governor since Orville Faubus.

"I will focus on the economy like a laser beam" said Mr. Cinton in 1992! But about all he did was get even luckier as his time in the Oval office progressed.  Deep down Clinton was just another tax & spend liberal vote-buyer, who had to raise taxes (against his campaign promises) to cash all the political chits he owed from the various support groups who got him elected. His luxury tax fiasco (10% on yachts and large boats) illustrated his shallow understanding of economic principles-- taxing the rich puts the middle classes out of work everytime. Boat builders laid off 8,800 workers; and as a result, the unemployment benefits paid out far exceeded the miniscule tax revenues brought in.

When the Republicans won an overwhelming sweep in the Congressional '94 midterms, Newt Gingrich as much as threatened Clinton that..."nothing further would pass unless he reigned in spending and cut welfare into workfare". Its all part of the Clinton book of mythology.

Myth: Clinton put everyone back to work.
Reality: the introduction of personal computer of the 80's had percolated through the economy by the 90's, replacing the paper age with the digital office age. Productivity soared nationwide . Now couple this with the dot-com boom, and concomitant job explosion, and Clinton, who was a largely a bystander to it all, graciously accepted credit as the president of "job creation".

Myth: Clinton balanced the budget.
Reality: this has about as much validity as giving Gore credit for inventing the internet! Ronald Reagan, in conjunction with Tip O'Neil, actually did accomplish making social security solvent by instituting  the original lockbox in the 1980's.

But if the average American of today, worried about his (her) retirement, could just call Mr Clinton onto the carpet now, there are a plethora of questions to be axed.

"Yes Mr Clinton: What was the relationship of the Social Security Trust Fund to the U.S.’s national debt during your 2 terms as president? Was the federal budget actually balanced during this time as every one has been led to believe?  Explain what happened when you were accused of "raiding the Social Security Trust Fund”. Would the Social Security System face financial crisis today if Congress simply didn’t rob the Trust Fund to pay for its expenditures during those years? Is this what Congress did back then? Explain in full detail, please."

The liberal press has led us to believe that the Clinton years were like the days of wine and roses; but just like any myth, the bubble burst in 2001 just as the abominable George Bush entered the Whitehouse. The internet's "unlimited expansion" proved to be quite limited . Clinton's strong promotion of China as "most favored trading nation" began to create the giant offshore sucking sound of America's manufacturing jobs. And  China was the great vacuum cleaner; and Clinton was the one that plugged them in to the world's economy.

Now, add on NAFTA to all that, and history may go on to prove (in due time) that the Clinton years of "prosperity" were those that greased the skids for the U.S. economy to careen downward into its 2nd Great Depression in 100 years.

How about today? Of course the democrats are willing to spend their way to prosperity using the old Lyndon Johnson c-p method of economics. Conceal the problem, and keep it Painless, Yes, those good ole democratic sound  principles-- print our way to prosperity--  then make the problem disappear by saddling the future generations with unbearable debt, because the future generation has no relevance... the only thing that counts is the next election.

Hooray! Lets all cheer for the new era of the Congress with learning disabilities! Barney Frank talks glowingly of tax increases on the wealthy, and breaking out the national charge card... (quote) "I think at this point there needs to be a focus on an immediate increase in spending, and I think this is a time when deficit fear has to take a second seat'.

Is this the way the Obama-energizd tax & spend 111th Congress intends to manage our financial crisis? Joe Biden, during his campaign said..." paying more taxes was patriotic, denying the obvious precedent of Herbert Hoover, who proved that tax hikes during downturns are IDIOTIC. Will they ever learn?

Enter Barack Obama..."Tax hikes on the wealthy are about being fair and achieving balance"...yet more evidence of a learning disabled democrat!

And now, after all this planned runaway deficit spending, we have the bail-out banquet running at full throttle! Congress has voted to increase the national debt to a measly 11 trillion now, with probably another trill or two during the next 2 to 4 years. And what's to stop this leaning-disabled Congress from printing the country into insolvency?

Certainly not the media, who speak nor decry of the reckless financial trends on Capitol Hill. Certainly not all those who are getting in the entitlement line for all the juicy campaign  promises of Obama.

Alexander Hamilton, our first treasury secretary, insisted that the United States pay its debts and practice fiscal prudence. He persuaded Congress to establish a national coinage, a national banking system, and a revenue program to provide for the repayment of the national debt. That then-controversial proposal gave our new nation a chance to grow into the powerhouse it is today.

But what would be the fate of Alexander Hamilton if he were in Washington in this day in time? The media would attack his personal life as a lawyer. Nancy Pelosi would label him a "member of the radical right wingers", with no legislative experience. Barack Obama  would condemn him to the dreaded republican status as "being out of touch" with main street.

So, for how much longer do we sit by silently and watch the democrats print more currency? How much longer can we go down this path toward economic oblivion? How much longer will we borrow until the interest on the national debt (currently 500 billion annually) sinks the ship of state into the ocean of insolvency? How much longer will we reach the point where the dollar is destroyed, and we become the next 1920's era Germany? Will history not repeat itself? Could we expect any different result?

These reckless, treasonous democrats are setting the scene for unprecedented disaster! We are inviting the worst of all economic worlds --a hyperinflationary depression! The democrats are against mining our own energy, and FOR sending our money abroad for OPEC oil. The democrats want to tax our employers, who will then downsize us from OUR jobs. Barack Obama wants to tax big oil with a windfall profits tax, and increase the corporate and capital gains tax, all because its fair? Fair to who?

These disastrous tax policies have already created the current Wall Street slow motion crash; and the housing disaster of declining real estate values. And with Obama in the Whitehouse, and the radical left in control of congress, it'll be gasoline on the fire!

These events have led us up to the current economic crises. And now that we have been  backed into this fiscal corner, the country has two choices.... we either take control of these events, or these events will take control of us,  in either this generation, or the next.

But no matter what the consequences of these corrupt Congressional criminals, once the disaster is upon us, they will be filthy rich and long gone.

It's time for McCain to inflict some pain

My friends...if Barack Obama has you all believing that I am the next George Bush, then why isn’t he the next Jimmie Carter? In the mid 70's, the nation was disgusted with Nixon and all Republicans in general. So America made a 90-degree turn and elected Carter; an inexperienced liberal, who promised bigger government, change forAmerica, and lastly, "that he would always tell the truth".

So what would we get with Obama? A change for America, bigger government; and...well, two out of three ain't bad. Obama would certainly bring liberal changes, and make the government your second mother, but would he always tell the truth?

Is Obama telling the truth about Bill Ayers? He says he only knew him casually. HAH! And he decries, "it's guilt by association". But yet, he turns around and paints me as guilty by association, just because I happen to be a republican serving during an unpopular administration.

Such hypocrisy! This is Jimmie Carter deja' vu 30 years later, and we all know about how Carter turned out; an indecisive weak president, who brought the nation 4 years of waffling and embarrassment. But despite Mr Carter's incompetence, at least the man was honest

So Mr. Obama, why don't you talk a little more in depth about your .95th percentile tax cuts for the middle class? But aren't you planning on raising taxes after one year; similar to what Bill Clinton did in '93? Are you really being straight with the American people by not telling us your plan to re-instate the inheritance tax? This would realy hurt farm families. And why are you waiting to reveal your 28% capital-gains tax on all home sales? This would drastically cut short the retirement of older people who are ready to sell their homes.

And what about your ingenious idea to triple the tax on stock dividends to 40%? When do we get to hear about that? Have you no idea of the disastrous effect this would have on our unsteady stock market, and how it would send capital fleeing from our shores? People would dump stocks en masse' upon hearing the surprise news. Why would you do this to America when our economy is under extreme duress? Have you no idea of how free markets work?

And how about a discusssion on the merits of the Obama-Biden World Poverty Act, that you both co-sponsored in senate committee last year? How much more would this $70 billion a year stipend to the U.N. add to the deficit? But yet, you would have no compunction about quitting Iraq, abandoning our soldiers, all for the sake of saving 10 billion a month. Is this your idea of ending the war responsibly...forfeiting the huge peace dividend we are about to reap, right in the center of the Middle East? Have you no foresight?

You said saving $18 billion in earmarks wasn't a lot of money. But do you have any idea of what it is to work hard and suffer for a paycheck? You're the great defender of the middle class, but you said behind their backs..."they cling to their guns, and their religious beliefs". Mr Obama, have you no idea of our sacred American values? What country did you grow up in? Who is the one here who's really out of touch? We'll let the American people decide that.

Mr. Obama; you promise "you'll fight for the middle class every day, cut taxes for 95% of working families, reduce health care costs, and end the war in Iraq responsibly". But tell the truth Mr. Obama-- you have no idea how you'll be able to do all this during a down economy. America might not want another George Bush...but we sure dont need another  Jimmie Carter.

Mr Obama, tear down this wall of deception...tell the people about your true plans. Be straight with America. Clear the air of why you really want to be president. Let your past be an open book. We want to hear about your friend Saul Alinsky...we want to know all about ACORN...we want to know about why you accepted a $13,000/year job in South Chicago in 1985,  instead of your lucrative offer on Wall Street. We still don't know why your college grade transcripts were lost, your Chicago law office client records are missing, and your entire files as a state senator from 1997 to 2004 were thrown out.

Mr Obama, this sounds like you might be too unorganized to become president; or is it something much worse? America was ready to impeach Richard Nixon-- but he chose to resign. Americans thoroughly despise dishonesty in any president! It is a shameful legacy, and it is that for which they are most remembered.

Please Senator, stop this illusion, and dispense with the the abba-cadabra speeches...we  like your stories, but America needs realistic solutions. The highest compliment a man can be paid is that he is truly an honest person .

Barack Obama, what are you hiding? And if you assume the presidency , where would you really take this country? And what will be your true legacy four years from now?

Bill Clinton- great president of the 90's...or 21st century disaster?

It's getting tiresome. How many times a day do you hear people rant and rave about George Bush? Turn on any political talk show and hear the invectives; Bush did this; George Bush did that; "the disastrous policies of George Bush Jr", etc. Sure, Bush has been a fiasco; just look at the economy, the acceleration of the national debt, the price of gas. Everything looks bleak.

So everyone blames Bush. And Obama came along at just the right time. The vast reservoir of his support is actually more anti-Bush than pro-Barack. Obama has come to the fore right when the middle class is in dire straights. The very word "republican" is pronounced by many with gritted teeth. But has Bush been the one who's solely responsible for the suffering of the common man these days? Has he been incompetent?  What was behind his strange motivations for invading Iraq ? Is he the evil president out to enrich himself? Just look into his back round.

Picture Bush on September12th atop the rubble of the World Trade Center. It was the high point of his approval rating. He rallied the nation that day with his pledge to get Bin Laden. Actually, Bush was only acting out his high school days. He attended the all-boys school Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, where during his senior year he was head cheerleader. So Sept 12, 2001 was just another pep rally to him, with megaphone in hand, and wearing a fireman's hat for a prop.

Bush attended Yale University where he became a member of the secretive fraternity, the Skull and Bones society. Has he treated the presidency any different? Not much. He's pulled one political prank after another. He's defied the Constitution with a number of clandestine executive orders. Bush has basically spent the last seven years recreating his good ole secret fraternity days in the oval office. The fact that his approval rating may hit single digits doesn't faze him in the least. Only his circle of political fraternity brothers count. Bush has appointed 10 previous members of Skull & Bones to high posts in his administration, including Associate Attorney General Robert McCallum Jr. and SEC chief Bill Donaldson.

So why did Bush go into Iraq?  Again, he was going back to his egotistical days in the Skull and Bones. He needed to show everyone he could leapfrog what his dad did in Gulf War I. He defied the Constitution because he wanted to prove his power over Congress. Bush broke all the rules in school, and got away with it; and his presidency has been no different. Bush II will never go down in history as the most immature president, but he basically spent the last 7 years acting out his foolish days at Yale at the expense of our nation. And he gets blamed  a to z for all the the current troubles during his two terms.

But if we examine the root causes of our nation's present woes, it basically boils down to NAFTA, China , and OPEC. Is Bush responsible for high gas prices? Is Bush responsible for all the jobs gone overseas? Is Bush responsible for the incredible inflation that's ruining the middle class?

Before he became President, George Bush was already wealthy. It seems Bush accomplished most of his misdeeds out of callous immaturity; he seems to have done everything to enrich his buddies instead of the people. Combine this with his massive ego, and the results have been calamitous for America .

But ironically, Bush's historical standing might skyrocket down the road for stabilizing the Mideast. Time will tell if the removal of Saddam actually helped reverse the Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism of Al-Qaeda; but it probably won't be known for another thirty years. However, if we go back in time to the Clinton era, quite a few answers to the present problems of the Bush administration seem to come to light.

Hearing about the wonderful days of the Clinton years is commonplace, (and the opposite of George Bush). "When Clinton was president everyone was working... he created jobs, he balanced the budget", etc. True. But The actual historical perspective of a president can only be judged after at least 3 decades have transpired.

Clinton today looks like Abe Lincoln compared to George Bush II. During the 90's, the country was prosperous. The stock market rose mightily. The internet boom was riding high. College grads could write their own ticket. But was it Bill Clinton who was punching all the right buttons? Why did he push so hard for NAFTA? Or was he only taking the advice of Robert Reich, his eager-beaver labor secretary?

Why was Bill Clinton so pro-Chinese? He pushed hard against stubborn opposition to grant them most favored nation status in the World Trade Organization. And why did Clinton veto drilling in Anwar, despite the approval of Congress and the nation? Was Mr. Clinton really that concerned about the polar bears and the Alaskan wilderness? Hmmm. They didn't call him slick Willie for nothing.

During the 90's we had an era of massive deregulation. Temporary and part time employment skyrocketed; full time employment and pension benefits were weakened. The political lock box on the social security surplus was removed to balance the budget. The Glass-Stegall Act was amended, and the seeds of the present housing bust were planted. The middle class began to shrink in the late 90's, and by 1999, the great offshore job migration to Mexico and China.was well underway.

Did Clinton wreak this havoc out of basic selfish dishonesty? Did he benefit at all from granting China most favored nation in the WTO? In Feb. of 1996, President Clinton authorized the export of critical booster-rocket satellite technology to the Chinese, undercutting the Justice Department's investigation that it would harm U.S. national security. A New York Times reporter had uncovered a smoking gun in the form of an admission by Democratic fund-raiser Johnny Chung that he had given the Democrats nearly $100,000 for the presidential election of 1996.

Currently China is practicing how to shoot down orbiting satellites. Clinton saved them about 20 years of research- good ole slick Willie! He really seemed to have a genuine soft spot for those once-poor starving inhabitants of the People's Republic, who presently hold the majority of our nation's 9 trillion-dollar national debt.

And how much money transferred hands when Clinton vetoed drilling in Anwar in 95? The environmental lobby, which stands to make huge money now from ownership in alternative energy companies, may have been instrumental. Strangely, it was the only environmental veto of Clinton's entire presidency. Clinton's net worth after he was president went up by how much? His combined wealth is estimated at over $100 million. Probably no other exiting president in history ever came out any better financially than William Jefferson Clinton.

Harry Truman was widely lampooned in the 40's and 50's as an incompetent; but look at his legacy now. And  George Bush Jr. is our grown-up fraternity prankster President, but his pranks have caused the nation about 7 trillion in national debt, and weakened our standing as the pre-eminent nation in the world

Bill Clinton has always been able to slick-talk his way through life. He escaped the Vietnam draft; was elected governor of Arkansas , and become a long shot 2-term President. And now that he's fudged his way to being super rich at the expense of our nation to China and OPEC, many are paying an unreasonable penalty for the brief prosperity of the 90's. And the only contempt the people have for Bill Clinton is because of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Now that's what you call REALLY being slick.

Civilian vs. Veteran Presidents...Who's More Fit To Serve?

How would Barack Obama respond to a homeland terrorist attack? His reaction to Putin's Russian incursion into Georgia was tepid compared to John McCain's lusty reply. But McCain has military blood deep within his veins. Contrast this Obama's liberal disdain for the military. But considering that the child is father to the man, it's no mystery how the early back rounds of the two are as sharply contrasted back then as to the way the two might perform now under the pressure of a crisis.

Every president faces international crises. Kennedy and the Cuban missiles. Johnson and the gulf of Tonkin; Nixon and the Pueblo incident; Ford and the Mayaguez crisis; Carter and the hostages; Reagan and Korean flight 007; Bush I and Saddam's Kuwait invasion; Clinton and Kosovo in the Balkans; Bush the 2nd and Sept 11. A president must be ready to answer the zero-hour call for either decisive action or inaction to avoid war.

Flashback to the election of '92. Clinton was being painted as unfit to be president, because of his pacifism and draft avoidance of the Vietnam war. But the "comeback kid" shrewdly replied that, "Franklin Roosevelt was a great commander-in-chief during World War II, and did not serve". Clinton went on to a spotty performance in the foreign policy crises of the Balkans, and Somalia. But he did grievous damage to our present military strength when he balanced the budget in his second term, committing the liberal sin of subordinating the military to social policy priorities.

Actually, Franklin Roosevelt was an effective wartime commander-in-chief, but he was more the administrative wizard rather than military master. His friend, Henry Stimson was appointed Secretary of War. Stimson's master stroke in appointing George Marshall, led to Marshall appointing Dwight Eisenhower. Stimson also presided over the Manhattan project. FDR led the nation to victory, but his historic leadership can be attributed mostly to his political astuteness. FDR seemed to have had that uncanny ability to navigate through the 4 year crisis without ever putting the ship of state on the rocks. But his one big Yalta blunder originated the cold war.

When Harry Truman assumed command in spring 1945, the Red Army was at the borders of Iran. Unlike Roosevelt, his steel-spined decisions were shaped during his days as a World War I artillery captain. Truman never backed down. Truman ordered Stalin to back off from the oil-rich country, or he would drop a 3rd atomic bomb right on top of the Soviet armies, who were massed at the Iranian border. Stalin complied. Truman also knew instinctively that the Korean War could have easily escalated into a third world war, and went for a stalemate- a politically unpopular decision that cost him re-election in '52.

Eisenhower proved to be a great peacetime president; but ironically, his greatest legacy was the result of his wartime experience in Germany. Mr. Eisenhower saw how mobility on the autobahns favored Nazi troop movements. This was his original intention in 1956 for constructing our invaluable interstate highway system. To this day, we continue to reap the economic benefits from Eisenhower's greatest peacetime accomplishment.

Question: Would John Kennedy have been able to back down the Russians in the 1962 Cuban missile crisis if he had not been an experienced World War II veteran? We'll never know. But everyone remembers how Kennedy's gut instincts called for force rather than negotiation with the Soviets. This is the essence of what any president does during any foreign crisis...deciding under pressure when much is at stake. This often separates the soldier presidents from the civilians. Do we fight or take flight?

Civilian Richard Nixon campaigned in 1968 to end the Vietnam war. But he chose to escalate it in 1969 with a B-52 carpet-bombing campaign. Rightly or wrongly, the war disastrously dragged on for 6 more years.

Another civilian, Lyndon Johnson, blundered greatly during the "Pueblo" spy ship crisis, and humiliated America by backing down from the North Koreans, who'd captured the ship in spring 1968.

Jimmie Carter may have been a nuclear engineer in the Navy, but his bungled appointment of his college roommate, Stansfield Turner, as head of the CIA in 1977 has had repercussions to this very day. The experienced CIA operatives back then resigned in droves rather than subordinate themselves to Turner, who knew nothing about spying. We lost most  of our Middle East agents on the ground back then, and the 1979 Iran hostage crisis began a domino effect of U.S. setbacks in the Middle East. Carter had zero wartime experience, and America has paid dearly for it ever since.

Ronald Reagan never fought in World War II , but he acted in war movies while living through the era. Reagan also understood the importance of absolute power and not backing down. Reagan had a poker face. By showing strength and decisiveness, he ended the cold war with the Soviets without firing a shot.

George Bush Senior was a World War II Navy pilot who was shot down and rescued during action in the Pacific. He proved to be a master coalition builder, and commander-in-chief during the first Gulf War. And he knew when to back off, and chose to stay within the borders of Kuwait after defeating Saddam in '91. History will always wonder what he could have accomplished during a second term.

George Bush II also avoided the Vietnam war by serving in the Air National Guard. He got the nation into the quagmire in Iraq chiefly by appointing buddy-buddy Don Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary. Rumsfeld saw to it that the war was under-funded, under-supplied, and under-manned. Only the intervention, war experience, and fortitude of Senator John McCain saved the nation from a possible involvement in an all-out civil war there.

McCain constantly badgered Rumsfeld for more weapons, more soldiers, more armor, and a different command structure. He convinced Bush that we could win with 50,000 more troops. Whether elected or not, he will eventually standout in history as having saved the U.S. from a possible humiliation a hundred times worse than Vietnam, because it would have alerted the enemy that America always eventually backs down politically at home, if only they suffer enough soldier casualties abroad. The Islamic radicals are well aware of our great disadvantage...we value the lives of our soldiers. To us life isn't cheap as it is to them, with their unlimited cadre of ready-to-die suicide bombers.

We are a nation of Christian principles and freedom; polar opposites to the ones who oppose us. And John McCain knows this. The Vietnamese were no different. The enemy will lie during negotiations, and will not back down unless forced. They have no values. Only the desire to destroy us.

But is Barack Obama aware of their principles? Does he believe that conflicts should be fair? Would he be his own man in command, or basically just use the Joint Chiefs as subcontractors for all his military decisions to either back down, fight, or negotiate?

Is McCain the next Harry Truman? And is Obama the next Jimmie Carter? History always repeats itself, and leopards never change their spots. America is at an electoral crossroads. Will we turn right this November, or vote to make a hard left?
