Saint Obama-- prodigal son of the Whitehouse--finally comes home

Heads I win...tails you lose.

Indeed, ever since Barack Obama began campaigning for president, he's had it both ways:

Recall Mr. Obama's "go to" line on the campaign trail; it would work every time: (quote) "As a Senator, John McCain voted with Bush 95% percent of the time...so a vote for John McCain means four more years of  GEORGE BUSH."

Finally, after serving as a punching bag for 2 months, McCain himself put on the gloves and began fighting back..." Barack Obama's political career was launched at the home of Bill Ayers, an avowed anti-American terrorist!"

At last, the foundering McCain had discovered an effective tack: he would go after candidate Obama personally, as Mr. Obama had done to him.

But never lacking in resourcefulness --and backed by the media-- David Axelrod (Obama's "consigliere") quickly defused McCain's charge saying..."the accusation about Ayers was "guilt by association," brazenly skirting the fact that painting McCain as another Bush was indeed, guilt by association-- and the media KNEW it, but kept their "code of silence."

Obama survived, only because the press did not expose his radical roots in Chicago; and as usual, Obama had gotten it both ways.

And little has changed since he was sworn in as president.

Never in the history of the modern Whitehouse has the once-aggressive, mainstream media given a president such latitude to have it both ways:

EXAMPLE: After the 800 billion anti-stimulus bill was rammed through Congress, the press hailed it as if it were the next Marshall Plan: "The President's active efforts to create jobs by rebuilding our nation's infrastucture will lead the nation out of recession."

But the press conveniently ignored the fact that ONLY 30 billion was allocated towards the rebuild . And doing the math; we see that 30 divided by 800 = 3.7%.

That's right ladies 'n gents (and all you pro-Obama media types); after all the posturing by the press, and all the braggadocio from the Whitehouse, our beloved anti-president is spending only 3.7% of an astounding 800 billion (1.2 trillion when you factor the interest) on actual infrastructure.

And the code of silence?  The destination for the balance of the money-- thousands of new government administrative jobs to dole out Obama's new entitlement programs-- is seldom mentioned.

And those proud recipients of all the Obama largess? Can you guess who they'll be voting for in the 2012 election?

Bottom line: Obama's anti-stimulus is the biggest vote-buying scam in American political history.

Chalk another one up to Obama having it both ways.

And what about now, as the media has become embroiled in the Obama-manufactured CIA torture controversy, and the now-cancelled photo release?

In a quote from a recent Whitehouse press dispatch..."President Obama's change of heart on releasing photographs documenting prisoner abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan by the American military, is a practical decision to save lives of American soldiers."

Another sugary press release crows..."The President's change of heart deserves our respect and support"...."Once again, Mr. Obama has demonstrated ably that he does listen to the experts."

Splendid-- we now have a President that can change his mind. Such candor.

And get out the maple syrup; the media is lathering on sweet praise for the great "Obama Epiphany," yet there's scant mention of his administration's treasonous announcement back in April, directing the Pentagon to turn over 44 graphic photographs, each depicting abuse of detainees in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Bush years.

This was all in conjunction with the plan to sic our brave attorney general, Eric Holder, after any of  Bush's lawyers who'd given the green light to the CIA to waterboard captured terrorists.

It was to be the "great Obama master plan of distraction."

Whether conceived by either Rahm Emanuel, James Carville, Axelrod, or Obama himself, the sheer brilliance of the plot lay within its simplicity; put Bush's CIA lawyers to the fire, while under so-called "pressure" by the ACLU to release 44 of the worst photos depicting captives held at Abu Gharib prison.

This was the Obama administration's grand concept of "ex post facto"...putting the previous administration on public trial in the media, while diverting  attention away from the actual business at hand-- passage of cap 'n trade, climate change, government health care, and the other radical leftist agenda of the democrats.

It was all so clever-- the photos would distract a "concerned" public (and the rest of the world), while letting the Obama gang in Congress get away with legislative murder.

But who'd a thunk the entire plot would be foiled unwittingly by the most diabolic of all the Obama characters-- our cherished Speaker of the House-- the inimitable Nancy Pee-lo-si, whose lies have ironically blown the whole shindig sky-high.

So now with Pelosi under fire, suddenly-- in his great, infinite wisdom-- Obama will not release the photos, and the hysteria to prosecute the Bush CIA lawyers has mysteriously died down.

In his Machiavellian soul, Obama was quick to grasp it was time to breakout the political fire extinguishers, and quell the whole sinister plot...all for one basic reason: he could foresee that all the furor & investigation, would eventually lead to the evidence that might crucify his beloved Speaker on a cross of prevarication-- and his most vital cog in Congress would be banished in shame.

And it would all be to the great disgrace of the democrats-- negative publicity that our shiny anti-president could ill-afford.

So now saint Obama-- prodigal son of the Whitehouse-- has "returned to his senses," back home on the side of sanity and patriotism; and now publicly states..."I will NOT release the photos!" (play "Hail To the Chief" music)

And St. Obama (never one to omit details) has seen to it that Chief of Staff (chief thug) Rahm Emanuel has privately called each of the major media, relating, "if you continue to seek Pelosi's scalp, you will face the ultimate disaster-- no more access to the Whitehouse press corps."

And true to having it both ways, if Mr. Obama HAD released the photos, great praise would have been forthcoming  for his "great wisdom," his "presidential  transparency," and "change" from all past administrations.

Some call it a "flip-flop", some call it lying, and some call it judgment.

But in any event, a new teflon president has been crowned.

1976-2008...the Golden Age of Stupidity

Remember seeing the old black and white film clip of President Franklin Roosevelt's declaration of war on Japan after the bombing of Pearl Harbor? Mr. Roosevelt spoke in righteous indignation (quote)..."December 7, 1941-- a day that will live in infamy."

Now flash forward to August 18, 1976; a day-- as time progresses-- that will live forever in infamy, for both the Republican party and America. Hardcore political junkies can never forget it.

On that fateful day, one of the most electrifying floor fights in political history took place in Kansas City, Missouri, where Gerald Ford and  Ronald Reagan were virtually deadlocked in the delegate count going into the final vote for the presidential nomination.

Although Ford had won more primary delegates than Reagan, he lacked the amount necessary to secure victory. The convention had opened with both candidates pulling out "all the stops" to win.

But then Reagan committed his biggest career political blunder-- he alienated his core conservative support:

In a bid to attract liberals and centrists, Mr. Reagan nominated Richard Schweiker for his V.P-- the Arlen Specter of his day. The move immediately backfired, infuriating conservatives who despised the liberal Pennsylvania Senator.  Many of the crucial uncommitted delegates who were leaning to Reagan, now fled over to the Ford camp.

This would be Reagan's day of infamy, and it would indeed, have consequences...great consequences.

Had he gone with his first choice --conservative New York Senator, James L. Buckley-- political historians agree the nomination would have swung over to Mr. Reagan; but the blunder allowed Ford to gain the momentum he needed to win the nomination.

But yet, the final balloting for president was electrifying. As the first states began to declare, the drama and suspense were palpable in the air. Ford won the nomination with 1187 votes to 1080 votes for Reagan; and despite his blunder, it was that close...107 votes .

Reagan endorsed Ford at the close of the convention, and delivered a truly inspirational and magnanimous declaration of "party unity", an eloquent stirring speech that far overshadowed Ford's own acceptance address.

In an ironic quote from a story in the August 20, 1976 edition of the "Kansas City Star," it read..."Some delegates left the convention wondering if they had voted for the wrong candidate".

SOME DELAGATES? All the delegates!

Anyone on that convention floor who had heard Reagan's reconciliation speech, immediately realized they had made a grievous mistake in picking Ford; and thus we ended up with Jimmy Carter- the smiling peanut farmer-- a disastrous 1-term president whose damage to America is still resounding to this very day.

Yes, the delegates had left the convention "wondering" (knowing) if they had voted for the wrong man.

And how 'bout 1996? The Republicans nominated Bob Dole. What chance did a meandering, plodding speaker like Dole have against slick Willie Clinton?

But despite the obvious mismatch, the Republican delegates again had voted for the wrong man, nominating Mr. Dole on the basis that "it was his turn," and because of his staunch loyalty to the party, he "deserved to be nominated."

Predictably, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" (as they had done to Ford) ridiculed the dignified Dole to no end, portraying him as an ancient, senile, clumsy, and bumbling dolt, who could not even maintain his balance on a stage.

After the liberal media had sliced and diced Dole to pieces, Clinton won in a landslide.

So as before, the Republicans--in their vain attempt to "be fair" to a party loyalist-- we again harken back to that quote..."wondering if they had nominated the wrong man."

Ever since the untimely death of the political genius, Lee Atwater in 1991, the Republicans inexplicably have lost their ability to survive media attacks from the left, and it has cost them dearly.

Atwater was George H.W. Bush's media guru, who crafted the controversial Willie Horton campaign ad, and suggested that a video clip of Michael Dukakis--looking foolish riding atop a tank-- be incorporated in to a second negative campaign ad, that almost overnight saw the liberal Dukakis give up a nine-point September lead in the polls, to a turn-around where Bush won in a November landslide.

But if it hadn't been for Atwater, again it would have been a case where the Republicans would've nominated the wrong man, and the weak, meek Dukakis would have been in the Whitehouse, and in plenty of time to appease the blustery Saddam Hussein, and his 1991 takeover of Kuwait may have gone unanswered.

But what if Reagan had won in 1976? There would have been no Jimmy Carter's destruction of the CIA; no disastrous Community Reinvestment Act; no stagflation; no gas lines;  no Iranian hostage crisis; no Russian invasion of Afghanistan; and probably, no rise of Islamic fundamentalism.

Other than that, Carter would have been a legendary president.

But consider if the Gipper had won:

Reagan would have strengthened the military, shored up the economy; and unlike Carter, would have been no naive whipping boy, genuflecting before our Mideast enemies.

But it was not meant to be. If only it were not for those misguided 107 votes on August 19 of 1976, how different would our nation be today?

Even as late as spring, 2008, the litany of Republican political stupidity has continued on unabated.

Last year, in the initial primary days, the Republicans were on the verge of nominating Mitt Romney--an honest, experienced, self-made, super rich businessman-- who had an actual plan to re-invent America's economy using traditional means: fiscal responsibility, tax cuts to stimulate private investment in new plants, and create new industry.

But despite him being perhaps the most accomplished man to ever run for president, Romney was lampooned unrelentingly by the other Republican candidates for his religion, his 1994 "flip-flop" on abortion; and his stellar economic and political achievements were marginalized by a carping, jealous, liberal media.

Romney was shamefully victimized by his own party, and the very man the GOP needed most to shore up a sinking economy, had himself been sunk by sheer Republican folly, who got just what they deserved: death by stupidity-- political party suicide-- the nomination of  the boring, stodgy, John McCain, who had practically zero chance against the youthful magnetism of Barack Obama.

And if that were not enough, the shining charisma of Sarah Palin, who's brilliant acceptance speech for VP had won her legions of both partisan and non-partisan support, was mishandled so badly (stupidly), that within 4 weeks, she had been annihilated politically, with the public led to believing that she was little more than a female Homer Simpson: a dismayed, chuckle-headed, moose-hunting housewife, who just somehow happened to win the governor's seat of Alaska.

Of course, once again it was all courtesy of a jealous liberal media, borne of Republican political stupidity.

But only if Lee Atwater had been around for the last 20 years... who knows? This late, brilliant media strategist may have gone on to guide the Republicans to victories in 92, 96, and 2008; but the former architect of George Bush's victory in 1988, died of a brain tumor at the age of 40-- the peak of his political success and power.

Atwater-- considered the Republican Party's best political tactician of the last century-- was feared for his readiness to skewer democratic opponents, and his skill in carrying out those attacks.

But ever since his passing, the Republicans have done just the opposite -- played fair 'n square, and have been the party of the nice guys-- a surefire way to lose every election.

If the Republicans insist on being nice guys, they've gotta be smart; innovative; win on ingenuity-- try something different-- start the 2012 nomination for president right now.

That’s right...start now! It would capture the political spotlight; it would force the liberal media to see the Republican stars in action, firing away at the inexperienced arrogance of Barack Obama, and professing smart political and economic solutions of their own.

Imagine Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney on a national speaking tour: Palin for her expertise in energy, and Romney for his brilliant ideas to revive the economy.

Imagine Michelle Bachmann and Eric Cantor speaking together-- another dynamic duo, who now serve in the House of Representatives. Cantor for his brilliance on budgets and numbers, and Bachmann for her fiery patriotism, both denouncing the treasonous liberals in the Obama administration.

All four of these Republican stars, given a national forum, could outshine the false, "tele-prompted" popularity of Barack Obama, and expose him for what he is-- a shameless, supercilious liberal, who has but one agenda-- tax and spend America into socialist oblivion.

Picture a touring Republican cavalcade of stars-- a premature primary campaign-- warning America that the media is out to subvert all conservatives, and every voter must trust their own instincts, because there is no truth anywhere in American politics; only lies; only traitors (Arlen Specter), with liberal democrats strictly out for themselves.

Or it could be known as "the Republican Truth Squad of the Stars," revitalizing the party, re-energizing the nation; and demonstrating that there is hope--yes hope-- for the United States to once more be great; or as Reagan so artfully professed..."morning in America again."

Who-- besides the lying liberal media--says the Republicans don't have any ideas, and lack any true leaders? Let them be seen!

Stop the defeatist myth that there is no one who can defeat Obama in 2012. Stop it dead in its tracks! The democrats are behind it all--joined at the hip with the leftist media-- and the Republicans must put an end to their lies, or they will once again be victimized by their own naive stupidity.

Elections do matter; and not the best candidate, but the smartest political party, invariably wins; and not always to the benefit of the country as a whole.

The Republican fairness and "decency" doctrine continues to yield disastrous results in the form of 3 liberal presidents, who have appeased our enemies, and supported calamitous socio-economic policies, where America's long term survival as a great nation may actually be in doubt.

Lee Atwater--wherever you are-- what would you do?

Suburban Americans-- skinned by Obamanomics-- pray for refuge

Last fall, before the general election, pollsters described the "battleground" counties surrounding Philadelphia as "very much in play." And historically, the Philadelphia suburbs have been 'red areas' for generations, although occasionally they had gone blue and voted for Democratic candidates in the past (Clinton '96).

During the Pennsylvania primary in April of '08, only two of the four suburban Philly counties - Bucks and Montgomery - had polled more registered Democrats than Republicans. But by the time of the November 4 general election, it would prove vastly different.

The hotly-contested state of Pennsylvania would swing at an October town hall meeting held at Radnor Middle School in Wayne, Pa, where Obama opened up the door to winning not only the heavily-democratic city of Philadelphia over John McCain, but ALL the surrounding counties as well.

As September turned to October, Obama slowly began to surge in the largely affluent 'soccer mom', white-collar suburbs, as many voters began crossing over to his promise of "change." And many were gathered at Radnor Middle school back then to hear the great orator speak:

"For the last eight years, we've failed to keep the fundamental promise that if you work hard, you can live your own version of the American Dream," Obama railed at the townhall meeting...."But instead, people are working harder and harder just to get by."

Yes, the beguiling (although misleading) rhetoric had inexorably taken hold.

Obama had succeeded in creating a common enemy--George W. Bush--and the "Great Distractor" basically nailed the entire election at that fateful event, painting Bush as public enemy #1, and as if Dubya was the one running instead of McCain.

Suddenly, many of the suburbanites-- totally disgusted with Republicans in general--began to tune in with Mr. Obama; and the polls leading up to that November 4 showed that he had opened up an amazing 9-point lead over his rival.

Here is a sample of the political climate back then:

Scene-- last October, '08-- a telephone poll in an affluent Philadelphia suburb:

Pollster: "Good morning sir...I'm polling for the upcoming  election; do you have a preference for the presidency?"

Suburban Voter: "Your **!**!#* right I do! Before you go any further, I want to tell you that after what's happened to me, I think we need a change--a big change! And the heck with this "country first" stuff  of John McCain-- all I care about is gettin' even with that **^!*#-!!**!!* George Bush!"

Pollster: We sincerely thank you for expressing your opinion...good bye."        (END)

Indeed, Obama, the Great Distractor, had triumphed. And the rest is history.

As the revered Aristotle once said: "Anybody can become angry-- but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose--that is not easy".

Too bad ole Aristotle wasn’t working for the Republican campaign. He may have saved the day.

But most of America had taken the bait. Obama had painted the election as a mandate against George Bush, as anger caused suburban Americans to take leave of their senses, and ended up voting against their own best economic interests.

And in the parlance of Rev. Jerimiah Wright: "the chickens have now come home to roost"-- the economic chickens-- as The Federal Reserve recently reported that households lost $5.1 trillion, or 9 percent, of their wealth in the last three months of 2008, the most EVER in a single quarter in the 57-year history of record keeping by the central bank.

Cluck cluck.

This calamitous loss of wealth is staggering--much of it being comprised of a falling Dow, a plunge in home prices, and badly-shrunken 401K's-- which will undoubtedly "sentence" many suburban Americans to ten extra years of (hard) labor in the workplace, as they postpone retirement, and second guess themselves for their irrational exhuberance of anger against George Bush.

Yes-- now that they think back--maybe those greedy tax cuts "for the rich" weren't such a bad idea after all, as people face the prospect of the loss of their itemized tax deductions, and the attack of Generalissimo Obama upon whatever of their remaining assets he can plunder.

Even the richest have become a lot poorer. The wealth of Warren E. Buffett, (Obama's fallen economic guru) has tumbled an astounding $25 billion, from 62 to $37 billion. And if it gets any worse, maybe Buffett will be seen checking out price tags at Walmart, like many other "formerly affluent" suburbanite Americans.

Obama calls it "skin in the game"; but we'll call it, the "Reverse Wealth Effect".

Tobias Levkovich, the chief U.S. equity strategist at Citigroup, recently weighed in with his analysis of the losses of the top 20 percent of income earners: “When their wealth is mauled, they are not particularly interested in spending.”

Very profound Toby...we'd have never been able to figure that out. Give that man a bigger bonus!

And the decline in the stock market just since January 1 has erased another estimated 4 trillion MORE from the country’s collective net worth. So do the math. Since last November, the United States has become poorer to the tune of almost 10 trillion dollars-- and the losses could continue on indefinitely.

So it's no surprise that Walmart, Family Dollar, and McDonald's shares are surging, as people look for whatever ways they can to fight back against the onslaught of Obamanomics.

A Tampa Florida former CEO of a hedge fund has felt the sting of Obamanomics: he's plummeted from a six-figure salary to earning $7.29 an hour as a pizza delivery man. His family had been living the suburban American dream, nestled in their 4,000-square-foot home that sat on a golf course. Now they all reside in a $800/month, two-bed  motel room, and sleep in shifts.

A former Chicago industrial engineer, (now unemployed) recently applied for a $11/00 per hour janitorial position, only to be dismayed that there were 600 other applications ahead of his.

In Atlanta, two weeks before the opening of a new Super Walmart, an estimated 4,000 people stood in a serpentine line stretching a 1/4 mile around the parking lot, applying for 275 part-time and full time positions, with many of the people waiting as father-son-daughter family members, and were ironically competing against each other for the jobs paying a 7-9 dollar per hour wage scale.

So, can it get any worse? Any sign of hitting bottom?

The recession is already in its 15th month, making it longer than all but two downturns since World War II. The Dow is hovering around 7000, but will it hold-- or head lower?  Jobs continue to disappear, and one in eight American homeowners is in foreclosure, or behind on payments.

Economists are watching an array of statistics--some of them buried deep beneath the headlines-- to spot the turning point, such as a rise in metal prices, or a pop in the Dow Jones transport index (which would portend a bottoming); but no signs of anything yet.

Investors will be alert for turnarounds in housing, lending, employment, plus signs that consumer spending has picked up. Then market players would be more likely to move their money from safe havens, such as gold, or municipal bonds (or even their freezers), and back into stocks.

But for the average suburbanite, it may be a long time before they can make up their lost fortunes-- and for many it may be never-- as they lament the "change" brought on by Obamanomics, and the "skinning" they've received since Mr. Obama came to town, which has cost America an estimated loss of 2 trillion a month-- the most expensive 150 days in U.S. history.

PART I: the selection of a President

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie..."

"Therefore...it thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie... the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels.

“A lie told often enough becomes truth” Vladimir Lenin.

This is indeed frightening . But Nazis and Communists like Geobbels and Lenin had it right from the get go. If you want to assume power over the people, let them (or make them) believe it is they who are seeking the change. And in the parlance of Mr. Barack Obama... a change they all can be deceived in.

Mr Obama will indeed have campaigned hard to earn his ascendance to the presidency. His master organizational skills that he learned from his days in south Chicago have been invaluable.

Obama  knew exactly where to strategically locate his ACORN rent-a-mobs...in every swing state. Machine politics, Barack-o style. Intimidation, false registration... don't take no for an answer...get in their face. Heil Obama!

A political machine runs on contributions. But Barack goes it one better...just use the internet and get the whole world behind you . It's estimated that when the election is over, the Obama campaign will have accumulated unknown multi-millions in incremental 200-dollar anonymous donations from the Middle East. Although this is obviously happening, the media has been his silent partner. So why doesn't somebody say something?

And no good Marxist machine can "stay on message" without the media there to serve as his reliable bureau of disinformation. The Organization for Media Excellence has been keeping score; they maintain that the press has reported  3-1 negative stories on McCain, vs. 5-1 positive for Obama.

Can you imagine the all the hair-pulling at GOP head quarters since the convention? (e.g.) I'm John McCain and I approved this mesage..."WHY DOESNT SOMEBODY SAY SOMETHING?"

Yes Senator McCain; these media thugs in suits are indeed guilty of attempted first-degree political murder. So far it's been an ongoing double homicide against you, and your maligned accomplice, governor Sarah Palin. Charges for felony media assault on Joe-the-plumber, are pending. And there will be no investigation.

You have been condemned to political death! You are charged with being too honest, and too straightforward, too patriotic, and too courageous to be president.

The American people would much prefer an equivocating, double-talking, meek and shadowy candidate, who plays the dirtiest type of third-party politics ever seen in America; and all the while, Obama arrogantly remains above the fray.

But besides the unfairness aspect , there may be something deeper, something terribly ominous that all Americans should be aware of: The complicity, the co-operation, the conspiracy that seems to be involved. It's way beyond co-incidence that NBC, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, the New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times, etc. have ALL been on the "same page" in their biased reporting to get Obama over the finish line.

Turn to any channel, or read any article, no matter the headline or the by line, the story will undoubtedly be slanted against John McCain, or his running mate. The examples are too numerous to count. But it's safe to say that the slightest misstatements of senator McCain are played relentlessly over and over on TV and the net. There are staffers at Comedy Central paid to comb hours and hours of video, looking for Sarah Palin gaffes .

But undoubtedly, the 2 biggest gaffs of the campaign have been conveniently swept under the rug. Obama apparently thought there were 57 states. And train-ridin' Joe Biden recently implored America to "recall when Franklin Delano Roosevelt went on TV in 1929 to deliver his famous inaugural speech on fear".

But all along, the subliminal media message has been relentlessly one-sided..."John McCain has no brain.. incompetent...incoherent...doesn't get it".

But by far, the most damaging aspect in all this is that Americans are the ones who are not getting it. But Wall Street Street gets it. The damage has already been grievous! Example: In a recent CNN poll, Barack Obama was favored 54% vs 39% over McCain as to "who would better handle the economy".

But Obama's Herbert Hoover taxation policy has had investors stampeding out of the market in panicked droves. The Dow Jones has declined 30% and cost Americans 3 trillion in wealth. Yet the damage is blamed on Bush, instead of laying the blame at the feet of Obama, who will raise dividend taxes to 39%, and tax capital gains at 35%. There is no sense in buying stock if you will be punished severely for any gains on the way out. The risk premium vs. the reward will have fallen dramaticallly. This portends long term economic stagnation...or worse.

Obama's tax policies are tantamount to fiscal subversion. Without sufficient investment capital, how would any company be able to expand in a capital starved economy?

And even beyond all the huge wealth and assets that have been lost, there is that overriding feeling; what else are we losing? Is there more than just an election at stake here? Is there something even more sinister about to take place? Is more than just the presidency being decided here?  Any Intelligent educated American would smell conspiracy.

If you connect all the dots, you cannot deny it. Something much deeper may be at work. There is Obama's shadowy history in south Chicago. He trained ACORN in the tactics of Marxist intimidation. Badgering and rabble rousing are their stock in trade; mob politics under the guise of a benign name, ACORN... the most clever kind of deception to rig an election. A fiction writer could not have come up with a more sinister storyline.

This all points in one obvious direction- textbook 1984 Big Brother Marxism. Nothing can be proved, but so many questions linger. Why are the public school teachers all for Obama?...why are all the unions? The young people are all for Obama. The media set-up of disinformation ...anonymous campaign contributions from shadowy overseas sources... government funding for ACORN....radical associations with avowed anti-American friends. Where do we stop? Everything points in the same direction.

The questions could go on for days. Why has no one in the media actually even performed a thorough backround check on someone about be given the secret codes for the arming of our nuclear weapons?  Yet the man cannot even produce a valid copy of his birth certificate, nor his college transcripts, or his client records as a lawyer. Yet no one, other than John McCain has dared to ask the obvious..."what is he hiding?"

What we have had here in this campaign for president, has not been an election, it's a SELECTION. When Obama and Michelle are on their podium, waving elatedly after his victory speech, the media pundits will all declare in unison..."congratulations Barack Obama...on your selection to the presidency"...

Our intellectual absentee-ism...will it eventually doom America into another unnecessary war?

Let’s play the blame game. We need to determine why so many voters today are clueless about their candidates. Is it because of left-leaning media bias? Or rather is it true that the public is so woefully uninformed, that they're just too easily led to know any better? Are we being manipulated en masse into voting for a leftist ticket of candidates, who will have majority power in all 3 branches of government, and be absent of any checks and balances? This would be in effect, a non-violent coup in America, with no shots fired other than from the comedians.

Scene: Election day 2008: man on the street in front of polling place:

Excuse me young lady, before you vote...do you know about our checks and balances system of government?..."Uh, yeh...umm; I've heard of it...it's like, ah, like when the president can't do somethin because the congress, like, is able to stop him or impeach him, or somethin?

Consider this election. The one thing that is so blatantly obvious is the incredible level of this overriding intellectual absenteeism that has proliferated dangerously, throughout every socio-economic strata of our entire nation. Look anywhere...on TV...on the net, or in the papers-- stunning political ignorance! Shocking disbelief at what today's voter deems as what's important, vs. the  true reality behind the scene. The slanted liberal media is really pulling a swifty on America this time.

Example: in a recent CNN news poll, the public voted Obama 54% vs 39% over McCain as to who was the strongest, most decisive leader. Ai-YEE! Who were they polling...a class of 8th graders?

Does the public even realize that the principle job of the president is to make the tough decisions? The president isn't in charge of the economy. The president doesn't determine the price of gas or oil. The president doesn't create jobs, or determine fiscal policy. The president is the chief executive! He hires and fires everyone. He determines who goes where and who does what. This includes the military; and that's the toughest part of the job!

Examine the record of Barack Obama. Sure; he's decisive...how many times as a state senator did he vote "present? Except for some shameful opposition to an aborted live-infant survival bill, he voted present almost every other time!

How about his record as a U.S. senator?  Same thing, the great Decisive One, Barack Obama, voted "present"  70 times in 4 years. He authored no game changing bi-partisan legislation. He voted "present" on some of the most crucial bills, and "yea" only on ones that involved tax hikes, or other liberal legislation.

But the public pictures him a strong, decisive leader! Why?... because he's so calm; and so level-headed during a crisis. But what life crisis has he ever faced? A commander in chief must make unwavering decisions, often when lives are at stake.

Once elected, Obama would undoubtedly react the same way as he did when he was informed of the Russian invasion in Georgia. First, he said the aggression should stop, and both sides should mediate and seek peace. How historic. How calm. A few days later, he delivered some press-release babble about the U N . Finally, he issued a statement agreeing with McCain's original reply of blunt disapproval toward the Russian aggression.

The evidence is on record. He changed his mind about his response to the Russians 3 times. But the press has selective amnesia-- they continue to spin away about his calmness during the recent economic crisis, which in fact, wasn't a crisis. McCain dropped everything and rushed off to Washington. Obama stood pat right where he was, and in effect, voted "absent" when he meekly declared, "just call me if you need me"...ugh!

How pathetic. Typical Obama. He does nothing, then lampoons his opponent as being erratic; when only a few weeks before he erratically was all over the board concerning a real foreign crisis; one that could have expanded into a regional military conflict.

Unfortunately, the McCain political campaign was not even astute enough to exploit this flaw before the public. But its gravely important that the nation be apprised by the media to do precisely this!  If the wrong man were to be ushered into the Whitehouse, couched beneath a cloak of media disinformation, this could lead to war!  And the intellectually- absent public has no clue!

Back in the late 70's, this is PRECISELY what happened. In the election of 76, Gerald Ford was portrayed as a bumbling, oafish character. In fact he was an intelligent, star collegiate athlete at Michigan. Media favorite and victor, Jimmie Carter, was perceived as a waffling, weak candidate by our enemies. The Iranian Revolution of 1978, led to the Hostage Crisis of 1979; which gave Leonid Breshnev and the Russians the green light to invade Afghanistan in 1980.

Our enemies had correctly pegged Carter as inexperienced, indecisive and a naive leader who could be easily misled by lies. And the Afghan war against the Russians gave rise to the Mujahadeen freedom fighters, which gave rise to their leader, Osama bin Laden, who had emigrated to Afghanistan from Saudi Arabia, seeking a holy jihad war against the infidel Russian invaders. And this very day, Bin Laden is shacked up in his cave over there, planning his next big event.

Thank you Mr Jimmie, peanut farmer Carter, for your great 9-11 legacy, that to this very day, the press has never revealed.

So what would be the legacy of President Barack Obama, if the Iranians attacked Israel and sunk a tanker at the neck of the Strait of Hormuz.? How would  president  Obama react, eh? Does the media ever pose this question?

Or what if the Chinese (who have made ominous recent military advancements in space) downed one of our spy satellites, and blinded the United States in that region? Yes America...the dreaded 3 AM call to the Lincoln bedroom. Like the famous Hillary commercial-- who do we want answering the phone?

There's a time for eloquent talk, and there's a time for action. A president must always be ready to answer that zero-hour call, for either decisive action, or inaction, to avert war. There is no time to negotiate. You can't vote "PRESENT"; appeal to the U.N, or hide in the Whitehouse.

Yes, Obama may be an articulate, intelligent, and level-headed fellow, but to our great peril-- the one thing he excels at is INDECISION: and is expert at taking both sides of an issue. This gets you by in a political campaign...it's great for the pollsters, but not for our nation.

But the one blunt fact about Senator Obama, unlike McCain, is he's never been forced to make a really important decision...one that could involve the lives of hundreds of our soldiers. Could he face a critical moment-- one that could lead to averting a conflict, or would he disastrously blunder the country into an unforeseen war?

Given the perilous global threats that America faces, the one great overriding concern that we should consider before voting is who should be commander in chief..not the economy, not who would be calm or erratic , and not who would be giving tax cuts. No! None of the above.  All of those are ultimately determined by Congress; the president’s job is to make the tough decisions. The buck stops here, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Would President Obama decide to make a tough stand; or pass the buck to his Chiefs of Staff? Does America want another inexperienced Jimmy-peanut famer Carter, in the re-icarnated personna of community organizer Barack Obama? Our enemies might see it that way...how could they not?

This is what America  should  be aware of. This is about our security, and the continuing survival of our nation! Sure the media spins the news...sure they're on Obam's side. But are they on America's side? And if Obama's is elected, could they be held liable for treason should America become involved in another unnecessary war?

Getting even...the revenge against George Bush

Remember the good ole days of 2006? The leading economic indicators were up. Retail sales were strong. Unemployment had declined to 4.7%. People were busy with two jobs, family matters, keeping pace with their mortgages, and paying the bills. But despite all the pressure of of staying ahead, things weren't too bad.

People still traveled, people still were well-housed, well fed, and basically satisfied with life in general; except for the unpopular war in Iraq. But this was the year president Bush really had alienated the people. The more he steadfastedly defended the war, the lower his approval rating .

Front page news about the war was grim and unending. Americans grew weary of suicide bombers, armored humvees, I E D's, amputee soldiers, and Don Rumsfeld's separation from reality. It seemed like Vietnam deja' vu; but this time rebellion was not to be found in the form of the street protester, but rather in the voting booth. Americans turned out in hoards for the congressional election '06, and sent nearly every republican incumbent to the cleaners.

Theres no way of telling, but 100 years from now, the history books may read:

..."the Congressional election of 2006 was the fateful turning point in American history... when Americans over-reacted against the standing party of an unpopular president, and elected a new generation of liberal Democrats, who used their majority power to pass a leftist agenda of socialist legislation; which ballooned the national debt to18 trillion dollars by 2012,  and ultimately lead to the collapse of the U.S. dollar; put the nation into insolvency; and caused its eventual decline into a third world country by 2035..."

From 2001 to 2006, the primary driver of the economy had been rock-bottom interest rates. People took out mortgages on second homes. House-flipping Americans began selling homes back and forth between themselves. But this only served to expand the trade deficit, since no new money from foreign dollars was coming in; and oil imports were causing $700 billion/year to leave offshore-- an unsustainable pace.

And since 2006, America has declined more rapidly than in almost any other brief period since 1929-1932. What opened the door was Nancy Pelosi, and that fateful day in history, Jan 4, 2005, when she was sworn in as the new Speaker of the House.

Immediately, Wall Street commodity traders were on red alert. They knew she was a radical San Francisco environmentalist-- virulently opposed to all drilling-- and quite content to see America continue to export much of its disposable income to OPEC. She vowed to keep offshore drilling illegal.

After Pelosi assumed the Speaker's gavel, the oil commodity traders in the pits lined up at the starting line. They knew the new speaker would block all republican drilling bills from reaching the House floor for a vote. The traders recognized the coming bonanza. They began to rapidly bid up the future price for oil, correctly assuming that no new U.S. supply of crude would be coming online to offset rising future worldwide demand. The price rose from $47 to $144/barrel, and gasoline prices doubled from 2.13/gallon  to 4.44, in just 18 months.

In 2006, the world's economies were in a growth phase. The world markets were clamoring  for more oil and gasoline; But Congress had chosen to block all new refineries and domestic offshore drilling.  After gas prices went past $3, the entire American economy turned into a national pawn shop. Everyone suffered the plague of expensive foreign oil imports, which provided 70% of our domestic supply.

Businesses were forced to trade their profit margins for higher energy costs. Americans, no longer able to drive to their second jobs, began to suffer household budget crunches. Food prices rocketed upward; the cost of living soared. After their savings, credit card limits, and retirement accounts were bled down, the mortgage default parade began, and the domino effect was on.

Now the second bubble began to burst. The Fannie Mae crisis had been a simmering pot of fudged assets, and cooked books hiding the18 billion dollar per year average losses.  Enron-style accounting concealed the debacle from federal bank examiners. But the main culprits in the cover-up were the three "banking amigos" that were in charge of congressional oversight committees...Charles Schumer, Chris Dodd, and sweet-talkin' Barney Frank.

Yes, the cover-up firm of Schumer, Dodd, and Frank had traded big campaign contributions from Fannie Mae CEO Howard Mudd, in return for blocking any fed bank examiner from snooping too closely. These 3 great American patriots were instrumental in hiding the mounting losses.

But they hadn't planned on a sudden foreclosure crisis, which blew the lid off the scandal, and threatened all banks who had taken large positions in Fannie's "government-guaranteed" mortgage securities. One by one, the subprime lending firms collapsed, all the investment banks indicated trouble, and the quasi-government lending agencies of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac imploded in a sea of red ink.

This is basically because of the price of oil had quadrupled in less then a year and a half, which triggered the foreclosure tsanami.  People were literally forced out onto the street, and live in their SUV's and RV's parked overnight at Walmart.

But the worldwide financial markets were all affected: for any bank caught in the tainted mortgage cauldron, all their assets were now questionable, and possibly worthless. In this cloud of uncertainty, investors headed for the exits.

As stock prices tumbled, Americans saw their 401K's melt faster than a popsicle in the sun.The political blame game began; but the public held the party in power responsible, unaware of the real story...the actual perpetrators were being hidden by a far-left liberal media. But the public clamored for a scapegoat, and pointed the finger at the Republicans.

As if it were an act of God, this came at the worst possible time for John McCain. His late September, 5-point lead over Obama evaporated overnight.

People now forgot about Iraq altogether. The public disregarded the major selling point for finishing the war-- the big economic peace dividend that's about to materialize after the political climate there is stabilized.

The public's rage against the republicans is palpable . They have been blinded by revenge. If you listened to the conscience of the typical American voter today, you might hear..."I'm willing to give up Iraq. I don't care about the surge. I want an intelligent president who doesn't deliver incoherent, mumbling speeches".

"I don't care about ACORN and voter fraud. I don't care about Ayers, expanded abortions rights, or the possibility of a triple header democratic congress and president that will tax and spend the country to oblivion. Yes, I just don't care anymore after what those republicans have done."

"I don't care about the dollar shrinking in in value...I don't care if we don't drill for oil, and pay permanently high gasoline prices. I'll buy a darn motorcycle... I'll pay more taxes...we need something new!"

"I'm okay with a bigger welfare state...okay with a bunch of new leftist judge appointments...I'm okay with more affirmative action, and more welfare for the disadvantaged.  I'm okay with a declining economy, and over-taxing the very person who might eliminate my job".

"I'm okay with a president who'll raise taxes during a recession, and might start another depression; I'm okay with a dumbed-down workforce because of increased affirmative action programs, and it weakens our  competitiveness, and causes us to be a nation in decline".

"After what's happened to me, I'm okay with every bit of it ! We need a change! And the heck with this "country first" stuff  of John McCain-- all I care about is gettin' even with that **^!*#!!**!!* George Bush!"

Senator McCain's "Thank You" card to his loyal supporters

C' mon Senator McCain... show a little gratitude for all the faithful. Start sending out the "Thank You" cards. Do you need the all the addresses? We'll help 'ya out. For starters, send one to CNN. Be sure to include the entire staff. They've been a great help to you in this last 3 months. And theres those good guys at ABC, Chuckie Gibson, and Georgy-boy Stephenopoulos. Don’t forget them. They've stood by your side.

Lets see, who else gets a card? Of course...NBC; and MSNBC! . Sure don't wanna miss them. Boy you'll need a whole box.. there's Williams, Obermann, Brokaw, Matthews, Maddow...ah, there's just so many to write to, so you might be better off doing a candy gram. They've all been positively exuberant about the way your campaign has proceeded in the last two weeks.

And be sure to include a nice enticement for that cuddly, gnarly-faced MSNBC sweetie, Andrea Mitchell. Now there's a reporter with gravitas, She deserves at least a McCain keychain and magnet for the fridge . So if you ever need her again to help you lose an election, you'll certainly want to stay on the good side of her..

And don't forget about the great spark to your campaign that cutie pie Kate Couric has provided lately. It was an absolute gas the way she and those wonderful CBS studio editors sliced your partner's interview into snippets.

Oh well, what’s a little bias any way? After all, the first rule of politics is...THERE ARE NO RULES! You know the old saying....if you want a friend in politics-- get a dog. And how about the innovative way that those reptiles kept running that soundbite... "the economy was fundamentally sound"? What a coincidence that your lead evaporated right afterwards. But it probably was all in good fun.

Yes Senator; without all their co-operation you wouldn't be where you are today. And you must admire their conformity. They're ALL for your opponent...united in lockstep against you! You could almost think of them as the "Stepford " media, in the non-stop invectives they continuously direct against you.

And don't be an ingrate if you lose. Just think of all that trouble and time the Stepford media may have saved you in the future. And think of the good times you've provided them; and all the happiness you've brought their way. Picture all those slimy Stepford media reptiles, slithering gleefully back and forth between their corporate TV offices, laughing at the endless Couric interview soundbites on their monitors, and snickering about whatever else they can devise to embarrass you on to defeat.

Yessir...you can  thank them all. And if you're wondering, (as many of your supporters out there are) how could they ALL be so coldblooded? Don’t forget; they're snakes...spineless and without principles.

The snakes crawl over every word you say, and twist it out of context. They've made sure that that nary a kernel of disinformation about your campaign ever slips by. And sooner or later, it begins to take hold. Their Orwellian blanket is all-encompassing. Nothing penetrates their iron curtain of disinformation. Our First Amendment has been shredded. News journalism is dead. Thomas Jefferson once  wrote: "Information is the currency of democracy".

So don't be at all surprised about why your disingenuous opponent has surged ahead of you. And because of the disinformation that has seeped through, YOU are the one the masses believe who's misleading them. Yes Mr. McCain, it's ironic. The majority now think that your opponent, the Great Fabricator, is the one to be most entrusted to the presidency.

And who can blame the masses for this travesty of truthfulness? The people have heard nothing ill of your opponent, whose speeches they revere. People of today hear and see nothing but sound bites. They have no time for newspapers, and place their credence in the political opinions of comedians, instead of journalists, Yes; a neutral electorate can absorb only so much disinformation, before it gradually takes on a life of its own. If Thomas Jefferson were around today, he might write: "When comedians are taken seriously, democracy is destined to become a joke"

"Set your alarm clock Senator McCain...it's time for your wake-up speech"

                                                                           McCain Wakes-Up-His-Campaign Speech...

...My friends, I am addressing you now because I think the entire country is in dire need of a wake up call. Now that my opponent has taken the advantage, it's time for more than straight talk; it's time for some blunt talk because we're rapidly approaching the time of decision. And before you all make your choice, the one thing to remember... the primary job of a president is to make important decisions...sometimes ones where the lives and fortunes of many people are at stake.

But I must point out, that although my worthy opponent is an articulate, intelligent, calm and level-headed fellow, who certainly looks presidential, the one thing he excels at is his INDECISION: he's expert at taking both sides. My friends, this gets you by in a political campaign...it's great for the pollsters, but not in the Whitehouse. Has Senator Obama ever been forced to make a really important decision?...one that could involve the lives of hundreds of our soldiers...or react during a critical moment that could lead to either averting or blundering the country into an unforeseen war?

Has Mr. Obama ever been confronted with ANY crisis? A commander in chief must make unwavering decisions when lives are at stake; What I perceive Mr. Obama doing is to basically use his Joint Chiefs of Staff as subcontractors for any crucial military decisions.

Every president faces international crises. Kennedy and the Cuban missiles. Johnson and the gulf of Tonkin; Nixon and the Pueblo incident; Ford and the Mayaguez crisis; Carter and the hostages; Reagan and Korean flight 007; Bush I and Saddam's Kuwait invasion; Clinton and Kosovo in the Balkans; Bush II and Sept 11. A president must always be ready to answer the zero-hour call for either decisive action, or inaction to avoid war. There is no time to negotiate. You can't vote "present", appeal to the UN, or hide in the Whitehouse.

Look back at our recent history. The last time our country was disgusted with a Republican administration, our nation chose to make a 90* turn. The public voted for an inexperienced liberal named James Earl Carter, a peanut farmer, who tortured our nation with 444 days of indecision during the Iranian hostage crisis. The man meant well, but he waffled in the Whitehouse, consulted with the U.N. and the World Court, and froze in his tracks, while our hostages were tortured and badgered until Reagan brought them home.

Examine my opponent's LATEST position on Iraq. He's had several. Yes he was against the war in 2002. Since then he's been dependably inconsistent. But now, the situation has decidedly changed. History is about to prove that we made the right decision. We are about to achieve a near-miracle accomplishment, a stable functional Muslim democracy, in the center of what was previously an area of instability and hostility. And Senator Obama wants us out. He would have us not only forfeiting our hard fought victory, but also he would be forfeiting the great peace dividend we are about to reap that could go on for the next hundred years.

Yes my friends, the war has been costly, but eventually we may recoup our expense a hundred-fold. As we speak, foreign investors are preparing a surge of their own. A United Arab Emirates developer will soon break ground in Baghdad on a 30-story $270 million hi-rise tower. It will house shopping malls, office space, and apartments. The cessation of sectarian tensions, and the dramatic improvements in security have attracted developers worldwide to Iraq.

The Mayor of Baghdad, Saber Nabat el-Essawy, is positively exuberant: His vision is to one day look across the city and see billions of dollars worth of malls, luxury hotels, apartment towers, outdoor amphitheaters, gardens, stadiums, and parks.

At our 80-acre military base at Rashid, a massive 5 billion dollar development has already attracted 16 foreign bids. This will include a state-of-the-art medical center, apartment complexes, hotels, shopping centers, and a sport stadium. A sports stadium? Apparently the Iraqis are planning on some long term stability, which well might last A HUNDRED YEARS! Now that the fighting has subsided, the Iraqi people are demanding cars, satellite dishes, phones, I pods, computers, and high definition TV's. Cell phone use has surged to over 70% in Iraq.

The future possibility of Iraq becoming one of our main export markets is there for the taking. The abundance of Iraqi oil is a resource for the capital they would send us to buy American goods...appliances, software, hardware, prescription drugs, airplanes, food, electronics, beverages, and whatever other markets we could develop.

But Senator Obama wants to cut and run, because he feels our money would be better spent on the alphabet soup of social agencies he has planned. Mr. Obama would subordinate our free market economy to his own liberal big-government style of socialism. Maybe he should be running for president of Sweden. Who knows?...maybe he could grow their government from the bottom up? But I don’t think that would work very well here!

But now that we've largely solved our problems in Iraq, the next president will undoubtedly be facing an even more menacing situation next door in Iran. How will the next president deal with a nuclear Iran, in the hands of Mr. Ahmadinejad? He's testing missiles. His engineers are spinning uranium into its heaviest molecular form, so it can be used to trigger a nuclear explosion. His first nuclear test could be in less than two years, and it could very well occur in Israel’s backyard.

Mr Obama said he would start negotiations with Ahmadinejad without preconditions. Would he return successful, or would he only succeed in becoming the next Neville Chamberlain? What if Iran then launches a surprise attack on Israel? Or Israel strikes first at Iran? Would Senator Obama agonize in the Whitehouse? Would he waffle, or get involved, and risk a wider conflict by aiding Israel? What if Iran blocks the straight of Hormuz? We would face a fuel shortage overnight, and our military planes would quickly run out jet fuel.

These Muslim dictators have no moral code. You can't hold them in good faith in any diplomatic agreement. Yes...they will lie, and try to lull us into a false sense of security. That's why you don't negotiate with a dictator or a sworn enemy. An Islamic theocracy and our American democracy are polar opposites. Iran has spent the last five years buying up American technology on the black market, and making electronic detonators for the roadside bombs, which have been used to kill and maim our soldiers in Iraq. This Ahmadinejad character is no friend of ours!

My friends, the best way to assure our own national security is to develop our own resources, so our children don't have to fight any future energy wars. If we were to begin a Manhattan project of new offshore drilling, in the short term, it would put one million people to work! In the long term, it would translate to even more workers, more oil, lower gas and diesel lprices, and we can keep that 700 million we send annually to Opec in this country for new investment in jobs; and enable people to purchase a new car, or washing machine, or home improvements, because people would no longer be spending so much on gas!

Mr Obama would create five million new green jobs in alternative energy. But he must have been quoting from an estimate from the National Council of Mayors, which said five million new alternative energy jobs will be created in the next 30 years! THIRTY YEARS!

That's a long time to wait for a new job.

Mr Obama says we use 25% of the world's oil, but we have only 3% of its reserves, so we should plan on driving less, turn down our thermostats, and reduce our standard of living so the rest of the world can catch up. That's his plan for real change.

My friends, you can't grow the economy without a low cost supply of energy. Our factories run on natural gas...our heavy industries use diesel vehicles, and our airlines run on kerosene. Mass-produced electric and hydrogen cars are years away. 60% of our electricity comes from coal. And I plan on supplying the rest of it with new nuclear plants, that would put many other people back to work. And Mr Obama is against it all. He promises to replace all fossil fuels in 10 years. This would jeopardize our military security. Tanks, Humvees and jet fighters can't run on wind or solar.

Mr Obama is the taxman. He would place a carbon tax on coal plants; a tax on natural gas. Like that old song from the Beatles...he will literally tax your heat! Mr. Obama despises fossil fuels. He will have Al Gore whispering in his ear, as he dismantles our present energy infrastructure.

If you want to know what your Obama future will really look like, just watch the news from Atlanta, and see the gas lines winding around the block. This is what the democrats have done to our country from their anti-American energy policies. No new drilling...no new refineries... tax the energy companies. Blame George Bush. Strangle the free market. Do the bidding of the environmental puppeteers. Pretend alternative energy is just around the corner. Let the people keep paying 4 dollars a gallon, so they can continue to send their money to Opec, instead of to the bank for their mortgage payment.

My friends, as your president, in my first act of bi-partisanship, I will go directly to the Congress, and meet with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. I will tell them that we are going make a maximum effort to drill our way out of this present energy crisis.

We will develop our alternative energy supplies. We will build 45 new nuclear plants, and we will get rid of Opec in ten years after we perfect our shale-to-oil, and coal-to gas domestic energy supplies. There's your five million jobs!...and they're all ready to be filled now under a new McCain-Palin administration.

Governor Palin is America's most shining example of the perfect energy czar. She has the experience where America needs it most...solving our energy problem! We are going to find as much offshore oil as we can, which will lower the price of gas, and restart our economy.

And we will go to work on our infrastructure, and construct new corridors of hi-speed rail, and take the burden off our airports and interstates, conserve fuel, and create another job boom in alternative transportation, and put our engineers to work developing geothermal, solar and more efficient wind power.

But my friends, none of this will happen without your support this November. You may not agree with all my policies, but as your president, we'll regain our prosperity and place in the world, because the economy comes first, and restarting it requires realistic policies backed by firm, unwavering decisions. And I ask you to think very carefully about whom you choose to send back to Congress, because a president can accomplish little unless the people and the entire government are all on the same page.

And after you go into the voting booth, and begin to mark your ballots, I'd like you to think of our soldiers abroad, who are serving in Iraq and the Middle East. They're not on the front page any more, or in many news stories, because we're winning: but just the same they are still out there everyday, accomplishing their missions, and securing our freedom back home. Keep them in your prayers. Remember those who have died, or have survived with amputations and terrible burn wounds. We've payed a heavy price, so like Ronald Reagan always said... we must stay the course.

"United we fall...divided we stand!" McCain's victory speech?

How often in a clash between two titans, such as two boxers, or two football teams, is the defeated fighter or coach bitterly criticized because "he played not to lose". But risks are an inherent factor of life. Sometimes, overcaution can be much worse than not being cautious enough. Just ask John McCain, whose campaign strategists had obviously advised the man to use an ill-conceived strategy of playing not to lose.

When the presidential debate commenced, i
t was rather apparent McCain was showing unnatural restraint. In boxing parlance, champion McCain chose only to jab in the first half of the fight. And in the latter half of the contest, McCain swung wildly at his bobbing opponent, but failed to land a series of punches. The only time he had Obama on the ropes, his opponent was saved by the final bell.

Too bad Senator McCain. You could've scored an early knockout on your nervous rival, but you had erroneously chose to listen to your incompetent managers, who had cautioned you "not to make any gaffes". But ironically, that was your biggest gaffe...you held back your blows, and your glib, stammering opponent was let off the hook.

It was a scene eerily reminiscent of Rocky I. Obama as Rocky, McCain as Apollo. Rocky Obama knew he "just had to go the distance". He obviously had trained hard, had carefully studied his opponent, and knew where he was vulnerable. His handlers knew he could win by just hanging on till the end, because if their man was still standing, the judges (media) would fix the fight.

In the post fight analysis, the judges agreed that Obama had been bloodied, but awarded him a close decision, only because he hadn't been knocked out. Most of the spectators went along with the verdict, but stunned McCain supporters had every right to cry foul. To an impartial observer, it was apparent that the McCain scorecard was way ahead by the end, despite his "rocky" start.

Well Senator McCain, what do you do, now that you fully realize that you're against a Machiavellian opponent, who's been able to out-clever your campaign at every turn? You're now left to fight alone against a political Mafioso that, like the Al Capone mob, has its origins in south Chicago...an opponent who uses the laws to act in an outlaw manner...an opponent whose disinformation would make the KGB seem amateurish.

Senator McCain; please throw aside your advisors, they naively want to play by the rules, because they understand little of the strategy of ruthlessness. The thuggish enemy against you is playing for keeps. They operate under a guise of 'civic' organization. Even their name seems benign (ACORN). But like a malignant political cancer, once they quietly invade any area, they will subtly eat away at the opposing organism, and weaken and destroy it before it can fight back.

Even you do not realize the extent to which the Acorn cancer has penetrated. It's metastasized into college campuses in all the swing states, employing illegal "instant voter" registration tactics, including same day registration/absentee balloting. If challenged, ACORN will tie up the issue in court, and if the state secretary and state supreme court are pro-democrat, ACORN wins; you lose. ACORN fights for relaxed voter rules that allow early balloting. One no longer need present a reason to justify an absentee ballot. Chicago machine politics has indeed been raised to an art form.

The Acorn malignancy has crept into every major TV newsroom across the country, where staffers mock videos of the Palin-Couric interview, but censor any whiff of an Obama misstep. They spread the cancer of ACORN, but in ways imperceptible to anyone but the closest observer. They lie to the public by omission. They do not seek the truth. They worship only your opponent, because they see him as a rainmaker.

Mr. McCain, take this Reagan-esque advice: "Tear down this wall"...the wall of bi-partisanship and political correctness that your advisors have erected around you. Your maverick status is at stake. You best fight alone now, because that’s how you fight best. The media and the young are in the camp of your opponent. And the remaining voting public has begun to sing that democratic song titled, "You're not in touch". They do not realize they've swallowed the bait.

Forget about Iraq. Your opponent has the right idea...talk about HIM. He speaks mostly of you. You've fallen into their trap. They have you on the defensive. So get aggressive, before the clock runs out. We're in the fourth quarter.

Playing not to lose is costing you the Whitehouse. Is this any way to win an election, trying to dispel your previous reputation? Did it ever occur to you that you're the polar opposite of your glib opponent? And that's just what the undecided people are looking for! Someone with the fire and backbone to run our country. Go ahead, lose your temper...let the public see the real McCain again. Reclaim your respect.

You are a sincere, patriotic, straight-talking, courageous war hero. You have principles. You have always taken a stand for what you believe is right for your country, while you opponent always takes a stand for what is right for only himself and his party. Your country has always come first. Your opponent has always said "I'm first".

You must bluntly counteract your opponent's polished oratory using the very thing that got you here in the first place...straight talk! But here's your challenge, bring back the straight talking, but limit it to one subject; your opponent's credibility. Defeat it in the only way you know how-- by telling the truth. Forget the media criticism, your advisors, the pundits, and start being commander McCain again! What have you got to lose?

Give people the real story. Call it, "the Great Revelation strategy". Leopards don’t change their spots. Start from the beginning, and go forward. Drop all the negative TV commercials. Save the media buys. Use the money for some good old fashioned campaign mailings. We still have freedom of the press. Let loose with a blizzard of straight-talking literature. Let the people read the truth. Unmask the imposter!

Let the the people know of your opponent's political origins in south Chicago. Does the public know of his ties to ACORN? Nope. Does the public know he despises ALL guns? Does the public know he's virulently anti-oil, and is for higher gas prices as a form of forced conservation? Does the public know that in 2005, he earmarked 1 million dollars to his wife's employer, only a few months after the hospital had TRIPLED her salary? How's that for starters? The public is not aware of any of this.

Meanwhile, back at your opponent's ranch, they've been unable to dig up any real dirt on you. So they continue to say that you're out of touch. But that's the best they'll do. So put your advisors on an expedition of their own; let them start mining some dirt on this deeply-flawed candidate. They won't have to go very deep. Call an impromptu series of Town Hall meetings. Talk about how your opponent received $126,000 from Fannie Mae right after he was sworn in as a U.S. Senator. Was this hush money? Let the public decide.

Criticizing your opponent won't tarnish his sacred, media-worshipped image. So, just keep telling the truth about him. Your “great revelation strategy” may go down in election history like the famous Truman "whistle stop" train tour of his last thirty days before the 1948 election. Truman's opponent (Dewey) was a polished eloquent speaker, and was way ahead in the polls. Truman decided to tour the country, and speak from the back of a passenger train.

Even on the election night, the media still had difficulty accepting the fact that Truman could win. But once Truman shucked the political rhetoric, it reinforced his image as a fiery leader who avoided all pretense, and understood the average voter. Truman ultimately won against his elitist and extremely haughty opponent.

Well Senator McCain...time for history to repeat itself. Hop on your bus, get on your soapbox, and make the campaign stops. Trust your own instincts. Be your own campaign strategist. Rise again from the ashes like you did a year ago before the primaries. Make history. Become the next Harry Truman.

But above all, make sure you remind everyone of one thing all will agree: Government by division is always in the public's best interest. A democratic Congress and a Republican president preserves democracy, and portends prosperity. Or vice versa. Remind them of the glory days of the 1990's, when Clinton was held in check by Newt Gingrich. Or the 1980's when Reagan was held in check by Tip O'Neil. Times were good during those years.

Remind the people that a democratic sweep will be four years of reign by those who caused all the problems in the first place. Let them know the real truth about Fannie Mae. You warned it was sinking, but the democrats were the ones who sandbagged the rescue. Clamor loudly that "this won't happen on my watch, but only if the government is divided between the 2 parties!" They'll elect you in a landslide!

Let the great revelation reveal that Pelosi and Reid will reinstate the permanent ban on drilling. You know it's true, so it's your duty to let the people know. Be blunt, tell them point-blank: THEY are ones out of touch with the real story...they are being led by the media into a leftist ambush. You need not speak like Churchill. Just warn them repeatedly that a democratic sweep will subordinate the majority to a leftist agenda of unchecked liberal legislation, and the irreparable transformation of the face of our nation.

"C'mon Mr. McCain: time's a-wastin'...forget that bus and ride that hi-speed train into Washington!"

There’s no denying it: John McCain certainly loves riding around the country in his campaign bus. But you  have to wonder: has the very distinguished and honorable Senator McCain ever once been a passenger on a train?

John McCain grew up in a military family, and graduated from the Annapolis Naval Academy. He became a flight commander, and went on to become a Vietnam war hero. Afterwards, Mr. McCain goes to Washington, and begins yet another long stint in service to his country. But after 25 years in D.C. it's too bad John Sidney never once hooked up with good buddy Joe Biden for a Delaware ride home on the Amtrak; otherwise we might have an entirely different look to today's contentious, nearly deadlocked campaign.

McCain can blather on all he wants to about, "committing yourself to a cause greater than your own self  interest", and "country first". Yes it's very wonderful and noble. No one doubts that. But the average middle class voter is thinking a lot more about 'ME' first..."how in the world am I gonna survive in this scary new era of hellishly high energy prices, and cost of living increases?"

We're all worried because everything from food to super glue is heading north, so the average John Doe wants to know..."Why is this guy talking about 'fighting on with me for change in Washington', when I need a job that pays enough to live on?" Today's voter isn't looking for miracles, just the guy who can cast some sort of positive picture for the future, like Eisenhower had when he pushed through the Interstate Highway Act in the 50's; or Kennedy, when he challenged America in the 60's to land on the moon.

Americans have a history of responding to presidential challenges. We love to be inspired, but only with a worthwhile national goal, like defeating the Axis in World War II, or beating the Russians in the space race.

But in this election, we have a bona fide voter enigma. It's no wonder there are so many undecideds. There's a candidate who's inspirational, yet seems insincere and hollow, and can't offer America a truly worthwhile vision. And the other guy has many visions, but is just plain uninspirational. But we need only one goal, but it must appeal to every one.

However, at least give Mr. McCain an 'A' for patriotism and sincerity. He's already rich. He loves to serve the nation. He needs only to be provided with some truly inspirational idea, and get fired up with a game-changer that could be key to a Republican victory. So how about we all get on board with the McCain train? Yup, it's about that time.

Have you ever heard anybody say..."ecch, I HATE trains", or "I hate riding on trains"? No? Okay now, could you apply that same comparison to flying on a plane nowadays, or commuting on our jammed interstates? That's because trains are just plain neat. They are mechanical creatures with a certain romanticism. They project an aura of mystique. Most have their own memorable logos. There are many train enthusiasts. There are clubs, model railroad fanatics, and train nostalgists everywhere. Most people love trains or even train-watching, for whatever reason.

Now contrast that to all those interstate highway enthusiasts throughout the country. Or how about all the airplane and airport lovers that abound? Oh, you say you don't know any? In the old days of propeller flight, some tightwad would breakdown and splurge on two ice cream cones, and then take his girl on a cheap date to the airport,
watching the planes take off and land. It was a novelty back then. But you get the idea. The need  for high speed rail in this country is long, long overdue, and you can bet that the opposition would be practically non existent.

People never think of it, but if a lot of the undecideds had any concept of the potential for high speed rail in America, they would cast their vote to Obama, who occasionally mentions..."establishing economic corridors in this country, connected by high speed rail networks". Obama's plan to end the Iraq war immediately, and instead spend the $10 billion a month here on infrastructure, may or may not be a foreign policy blunder, but at least Barack is on the right track in this one. He actually DOES understand the huge economic efficiencies of high speed rail networks. Plus, the mostly flat topography of our country makes the idea all the more feasible.

Even the Chinese, our trustworthy Asian competitors, have successfully introduced a high speed rail corridor from Beijing to the Tianjin airport. The two cities, with a total population of 30 million, are now connected with 200 mph overhead electric-powered bullet trains. The trip takes just thirty minutes, and has reduced the overcrowding at the old Beijing airport. The Chinese are taking the idea nationwide. High speed rail has been a huge success on every continent so far. The Australians have decided to be next; so what are we all waiting for?

All political issues have two sides, but opposing high speed rail in this country would be a bona fide head scratcher. What group or party would object to the all the new jobs generated by an actual, completely new industry? It could re-vitalize the stagnant manufacturing sector, particularly in the rust belt. And this wouldn't be another political

promise boondoggle.

Just like the exists off interstate highways sparked new suburbs and nearby proximal land development, high speed rail would generate at least a ten to twenty year boom in construction jobs, and engineering, surveying and legal jobs in building out the corridors, and securing the right-of-ways.

After the startup, there'd be permanent high paying railroad jobs both on and off the trains. We'd have steel and manufacturing jobs; railroad and construction jobs, plus jobs requiring signal technology employment. There would be a whole new sector of "destination jobs" that would be created at the junction stops and cities, such as hotel-motel, car rental, restaurant, retail, and even tourist jobs.

Hi-speed rail travel would be as much of a lifestyle effect on our culture as the interstate highway. This would be similar to how the American economy exploded in the late 19th century after the trans continental train network was completed in 1869. Nearly all towns west of St. Louis (Las Vegas) were originally founded because of spurs or stops on the transcontinental railroad.

Could there be any bitter opposition against not having to travel jammed interstate highways between major east coast cities? (There'd be no longer need to widen I-95). People could leave their cars at home. The road rage and time wasted in traffic jams would be supplanted by relaxing on a train, socializing, text messaging, laptop work, watching a movie, eating a quality meal, reading, or sightseeing out the windows at 130 mph. It sure beats looking at cloud tops from a window seat, or getting flipped off by some aggressor in an interstate traffic jam.

These days, have you ever heard any one say..."Can't wait to fly to Phoenix tomorrow!" Yeah! Or "Man, I can't wait for the weekend to go by so I can commute to work Monday on the interstate". Luv those vacant HOV lanes! On a train you don't get trapped in traffic, or go postal waiting to take off for an hour with a flight delay. Remember the old days when people could buy crash insurance policies at the airport? (Such a comforting thought). Fatal train accidents are occasional, but are mostly rare in the U.S.

What about our jammed airports and flight corridors? Would there be opposition (other than luggage-handler job losses) to no longer being searched like a felon after waiting in some obnoxious security line? That would indeed be hard to give up. What about all the decline in short regional flights; or the fast-rising ticket prices, with those wonderful luggage surcharges? On the train you can actually bring all your stuff. Many major airlines would be spared from bankruptcy.

And how bout the idea of eliminating the federal gas tax? Now that would be sorely missed. A 100 car high speed, intermodal freight train carrying 200 piggy-backed semi trailers, would remove thousands of 40 ton trucks off the interstates, and would eliminate the billions spent on the annual road break up, and all those glorious lane-restricted bridge repairs. But caution...this may put a lot of orange barrel manufacturers out of biz. The road barrel lobby would be up in arms, but the amount of diesel fuel saved would conserve millions of barrels of oil over time.

And how tired are you of hearing that dreadful ominous phrase..."our addiction to foreign oil"? Ugh. Who in the world came up with that one? How about our addiction to foreign cars? How about our addiction to foreign Walmart-type imports? How about our addiction to foreign food (Chinese/Italian)? Like the money we spend, oil is necessary to run our economy.

And what could possibly conserve more gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, or whatever fossil fuel, than high speed railways? How much annual transport time would be saved on a national basis? Our GDP could actually spike after the first few years after start-up.

We would now have a way to provide an actual reduction of our capital exports to OPEC, and shift our trade deficit to a surplus. The money saved by keeping it in this country would provide capital investment for the maintenance and build-out of the hi-speed infrastructure, which could go on well on into the middle of this century.

The only possible objection might be our neo-Marxist friend Obama. His intention is to have the government run the new rail networks, but Amtrak's perennial deficits and mismanagement would belie that possibility. Amtrak will never see a profit because there's no incentive for its workers to be efficient. But where would any true opposition lie? Even the dreaded environmentalists would be chirping at the possibility of reducing fossil fuel use and improving  air quality.

Could one actually raise even one cogent argument against the idea? Sure it would cost mega billions. But the people could buy bonds to raise the huge capital required. However, since the rails would be privately owned and operated on an anti-Amtrak basis, they would make a profit and give bond investors a yield on their money.

Besides the binge of permanent, high-paying skilled employment, we'd have the one thing that's been lacking since the 1960's...we'd be united in purpose and have a national goal-- building the rail network.  Just look to the NASA moon shot of the 60's; or the Alaskan pipeline of the 70's. Not only would there be an offspring of huge economic benefits, it would again make us feel proud of our country, possibly even Michelle Obama, for the second time in her adult life.

"Stay tuned everybody...can the Democrats get away with their felonious assault of poor Fannie Mae?"

Well here we go...the Fannie Mae finger-pointing contest is off and running. Place your bets! Who will be able to come up the winner of this latest blame game? Probably Obama. McCain has already  bumbled his opportunity to carve up and package a whole corral of Democrats as nefarious collaborators in this one: but instead he foolishly chose to call for the "formation of a new federal commission". Very brilliant. And the result? Obama nailed him to a wall of ridicule later in the day; and predictably, McCain's new lead in the polls evaporated literally overnight.

Sorry Mac... bad news. Your V.P. genius-like pick of Saran Palin two weeks ago has now been been eclipsed by your most blundering move to date...you inexplicably misspoke about the economy, and dragged in SEC Chairman Christopher Cox as an unworthy scapegoat for this latest debacle on Wall Street.

Yes Mr. McCain, don't you know by now that in both hunting and politics, when you have your quarry in the crosshairs, you pull the trigger immediately, because that's the best shot you get. And in this sound bite era of elections, the first shot taken at a political opponent is the one that'll be played out forever. Plus, you've given the Obama-crats enough ammunition to truly make you look "out of touch". And you tarnished the reputation of an honest competent man. Oooohhh boy!

Has John McCain, the candidate steeped in naval tradition, mindlessly chosen neutrality this time? Or is he staging for a second strike in the coming debates? If McCain and company can play it smart, the Republicans may have found their Watergate. Hopefully Mac is just keepin' his powder dry. Fortunately, he's got a little time to to pick the juiciest targets.

This is one time when the Democrats have nowhere to hide. They are vulnerable to Republican fire left right and center... all up and down Pennsylvania Avenue...in both the House and the Senate. And even the most holy one, Barack Obama, has exposed both his flanks this time. Actually, McCain's biggest problem is who do you aim at first? Jimmie Carter? Clinton? Dodd? Schumer? Pelosi? Hilliary? Kerry? Reid?  In military parlance, what we have here is a "target rich environment".

Lets start with the magnanimous Jimmie Carter.  His 1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), compelled banks to make loans to low-income borrowers, or what the supporters of the Act call "communities of color".  These loans might not otherwise have been made based purely on economic criteria. Predictably, the original lobbyists for the CRA were the hardcore leftists who supported the Carter administration. The CRA had fangs; it was enforced by the Federal Reserve, Comptroller of the Currency, and the FDIC. If a CRA protest were to be issued by a "community group", any of these agencies could act against the offending bank to prevent any merger, expansion, or new branch formation.

The CRA literally violated all financial prudence, and compelled banks to hold portfolios of bad loans. It was ingenious...a law actually forcing banks to write stupid loans! The only way a borrower could qualify was to take out an adjustable rate mortgage.

Now flash forward to the Clinton era: slick Willie decided to put CRA on steroids. Clinton had found nirvana; a way to do some big time vote shopping for his re-election, and he turned Fannie Mae into a quasi-government high end employment agency. The Clinton cronies lined up , and it was now time to come to Washington and get the party started.

Fannie Mae was transformed into an incredible cash cow that looked like it could be milked forever, and never go sour. The local banks would make CRA-encouraged shaky loans, then bundle them with good loans into debt insrutruments. These "securities" were bought and guaranteed by Fannie Mae, who then would sell them to Wall Street firms, who held them for the purpose of their higher yields. Ah yes, from the branch banker all the way up to the Wall Street broker, everyone could now get fat and forget the risk. And government guarantees made Fannie all but impervious to credit downgrades.

Now it was crony time. James Johnson, campaign director for Mondale in1984,  led Fannie Mae from 1991 to 1998. He worked to streamline the loan underwriting process, and subprime lending firms blossomed under his tenure. In 1996, Clinton named Franklin Raines as director of the OMB. Raines became CEO of Fannie in 1999, taking over from Johnson. During their stints as CEO, Johnson earned 21 million, and Raines scraped by on a paltry $90 million. This was the total of their base salaries, bonuses, stock grants and incentive payments,

After Raines decided to juice Fannie Mae's performance by fudging numbers, the fraud begin to snowball. Earnings per share appeared to grow at an average annual rate of 18 percent under Raines, and Fannie's assets bordered on a trillion dollars. After being unable to hide a 9 billion dollar loss, Raines was ousted. He was replaced by Daniel Mudd in 2003. From 1997 to 2003 Jamie Gorelick, yet another Clinton appointee, served at Fannie as vice chairman and chief lawyer. She had previously been Clinton's deputy attorney general,

The sins of Fannie were well-hidden because Enron-style accounting was used to amortize losses over years, and not be realized annually as they were supposed to be. By this method, the Fannie Mae management siphoned off millions of dollars in excess compensation to top management, including Gorelick, who left Fannie with a measly 26 million. Yup, it was tough going for all of them during those go-go years.

Through all Fannie's good ole days, various calls for investigations were smothered by the collaboration of various Democrats who served on the congressional banking committees. Campaign contributions were bartered for protection. The committee members prevented Fannie from having to increase the capital requirements for losses, and they helped themselves to the booty. The hogs lined up at the trough, and the feeding frenzy was on.

The oversight of Fannie (and Freddie Mac) were in the hands of the banking commitee chairmen, and they decided to put on the blinders so everyone could now join in and fatten up. They all aided and abetted CEO Daniel Mudd's abilty to keep the wolves at bay, and did all all they could to foil the fed regulators.

So where do we begin?. For starters, lets discuss a 2005 meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus. Daniel Mudd certainly lived up to his name when he appeared hat in hand before the group and used code words for HE-E-E-L-P! The Fannie ship was ready to be swamped with losses that were about to come to light, and these forthright members of the Caucus responded in kind. Barack Obama was brand new to the assemblage, and was won over by Mudd's plea. He forced himself to accept a $126,000 campaign contribution for his trouble. Ah yes, Barack had discovered that once you're in Congress silence indeed can be golden!

Ya gotta give those demmy-crats credit... they sure believe in sharing the wealth. To date some of the noteworthy recipients of past Fannie generosity are Chris Dodd, Obama, John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Hilliary Clinton, and Barney Frank; plus we can't forget head honchos Harry Reid, and the odious Nancy Pelosi, who somehow managed to get in on the fun.

Most Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contributions have gone to lawmakers who regulate their industry through the House Financial Services Committee; the Senate Banking Committee, Housing & Urban Affairs; or the Senate Finance Committee. Besides campaign contributions, Fannie  would cleverly funnel money into certain congressional districts for pork-laden federal housing projects. If all their shenanigans are ever uncovered, it will no doubt leapfrog Watergate, and go down as the biggest financial boondoggle in U.S. history.

But despite this mountain of Democratic dirt, Barack Obama may manage to bury it all with his most-clever and beguiling rhetoric. Example: after McCain's gaffe about "the economy is fundamentally strong", Obama fired back a deadly volley:
OBAMA: "Senator McCain bragged about how, as chairman of the Commerce Committee in the Senate, he had oversight of every part of the economy. Well, all I can say to Senator McCain is, nice job...nice job". Is this Obama a word-wizard or what? He could probably talk his way out of a Siberian gulag, and be given a new suit for the trip home.

But seriously folks, Commander McCain needs to come up with some counter punches in a hurry. He has to realize Obama is tough to corner, and has turned into an elusive target. And if McCain thinks he has any chance of winning in November, he'd better be getting in some serious target practice before the next debate.  He's already provided both Obama and the Democratic 527 groups, more than enough soundbite torpedoes to sink his ship.

Look out Barack! The "McCain Awakening" has finally arrived!

Just you wait everybody...the yard signs will soon be poppin' up everywhere; "McCAIN-PALIN...COUNTRY FIRST". If you watched the Republican convention, didn't those omni-present "Country First" signs in the audience strike a positive chord within you? After all, when's the last time a presidential candidate, or any candidate for that matter, has talked of putting the country first? Yup, it was John F. Kennedy, who spoke those immortal words in his 1961 inaugural speech..."Ask not what your country can do for you; but what you can do for your country." Whew! That is one downright powerful message of patriotism! But in the last 47 years, that message seems to have been transposed. Just ask Barack Obama, who seems to profess just the opposite.

Now enter "the awakening" of John Sidney McCain, circa 2008. More and more everyday, the man is beginning to look every bit a genius. He's emerging late in the campaign because his mysterious maverick qualities have been grossly misinterpreted. How? Well nowadays, truly patriotic politicians could qualify for protection under the Endangered Species Act. After all, who can recall in recent memory, ANY Washington politician who puts not themselves first, or their party first, or lobbyists first, or special interests first, but rather their COUNTRY first? And especially when you examine his past, John McCain fits the mold of true patriot; and we're just now beginning to realize it.

Example: During his recent acceptance speech, Mr. McCain spoke glowingly of "a cause greater than your own self interest". He waxed enthusiastically about "reaching across the aisle", and "appointing a truly bi-partisan cabinet". Of course, the liberal media reacted predictably, calling it just another ho-hum, boorish McCain speech. But if you look deeper into his past, all the evidence points to the fact that McCain will be as genuine of a President as anyone since Harry Truman, another man who at first was dubbed as boring, and noteworthy of little else besides having a bad temper.

But isn't about time we elected someone with some true fire in the belly? And the fire of John McCain is something nobody has ever doubted. Not since Teddy Roosevelt has anyone running for President had a more aggressive backround than John McCain. The most storied example of the McCain temper involved a 2006 confrontation with Arizona Congressman Rick Renzi. At a Republican strategy meeting, McCain repeatedly addressed the rookie Congressmen as ‘boy.’ Renzi, a former college linebacker, rose from his chair and literally challenged McCain to some good old fashioned pugilism. McCain lunged at Renzi, punches were thrown, and the two had to be physically separated. Later on, the two became fast friends because Renzi's aggressive posture had won McCain's admiration.

Why has McCain surged ahead? Maybe our country is awakening to the fact that John McCain wouldn't back down to Russia, and wouldn't play softball with Iran in a Middle East crisis. Or maybe were just now awakening to the idea that McCain is the first presidential candidate in memory who's not playing the blame game. Example: When asked about the recent corporate debacles on Wall Street, Mr. McCain remarkably refrained from finger-pointing at the Democrats, but in a conciliatory tone replied that, "both sides caused the problems", and as president, he would "work with both sides to arrive at a solution".

Yes, McCain's diplomatic reply revealed that playing politics was passe’, and the country would now come first. The media were stunned by McCain's remarkable prudence, because they had been expecting the same usual partisan retort that we always hear from Barack Obama, whose robotic blather about "the failed policies of George Bush" are growing exceedingly lame. If you ask Obama just about anything these days, it no doubt occurred because of "the failed policies of George Bush". Jeez Barack; and you're supposed to be such a great orator...hmmph.

Yes indeedy, ole Barack-o has seemed rather stale lately, but it's not so much the fault of his speechwriters, it’s more because McCain is suddenly emerging as a master of the political chessboard, and appears to be out maneuvering Obama at every turn.

As evidenced by the recent polls in key swing states, Senator McCain brilliantly managed to create a political "pivot point" when he named Sarah Palin as his V.P. The polls changed literally overnight. Undecideds suddenly had become staunch McCain-ers! And overnight ten point swings in polls are no everyday event in elections, especially when no boffo-sized gaffes have occurred. McCain is proving he's a shrewd, clutch performer, capable of coming up with the big hit when behind in the score.

Recall the Republican primary debate last February: Mitt Romney had opened up a 5 point lead in the Florida polls. The two had been purposely seated next to one another. The acrimony between the candidates was apparent. Then McCain struck: he suddenly began to hammer away relentlessly about Romney's "willingness to surrender in Iraq". Romney, the very essence of political decorum, stammered under the scathing surprise attack.

Afterwards, McCain had come off as crotchety and mean-spirited. However, within 48 hours, the polls revealed that McCain had blistered Romney. And Senator McCain knew what he had to do to win: create a crucial pivot point to swung the election over to him.

But back then, no one had yet realized that McCain wasn't just some back-alley fighter, but also the consummate political master of strategy. Yes, looks are deceiving. And day-by day, Obama and his pro-liberal media cohorts are finding that out the hard way. If Obama doesn't come up with a counter strategy by the first debate, the media rats might desert the sinking Obama ship, and actually cease their shameful bias against McCain.

Historically, in close presidential elections, there have been pivot points where seemingly overnight, a huge shift in the polls swung the momentum to one candidate over the other. In 1964, it was the famous (or infamous) "Daisy" commercial, which doomed Barry Goldwater, and propelled Lyndon Johnson to victory. In 1976, it was the "eastern Europe" gaffe of Gerald Ford, that enabled Jimmie Carter to triumph. In 1980, it was Reagan's famous rhetorical question, "are you better off now than 4 years ago?" In 1988, it was Mike Dukakis, riding helmeted atop an Abrams tank, looking as if he were playing GI Joe instead of commander in chief.

During the recent Republican convention, one could see that McCain and Company were laying in the weeds for Obama. Like overtime in a college football game, the Republicans had the advantage of going second. McCain succeeded masterfully in turning the tables, and adroitly laid down his case that he, not Obama, was the true candidate of change. And with Sarah Palin now on board, they easily wrested the mantle from Obama, who'd managed to play the George Bush blame card once too often. Obama had fumbled, and just as in college football, once you acquire that all-important swing in momentum, it's mighty darn hard to stop.

John McCain’s reputation as a maverick is no recent contrivance. The Senator first captured the media spotlight in September 1983, not long after he’d been elected to his first term in the House. McCain drew national attention when he voted against President Reagan’s decision to put American troops in Lebanon as part of a multinational “peacekeeping” force.

Back then, McCain boldly had taken a minority position against Reagan, and was in one of only 27 Republicans to break with the President. McCain even rose up on the House floor to make a passionate speech against the move. It was at this time, the Washington press corps first began to notice his acts of political independence, and that he had put "country first".

So even early in his Congressional days, Mr. McCain had demonstrated his unbridled patriotism, and willingness to subordinate his political career to his country. But do leopards ever change their spots? No-o-o way; national security is the name of the game with John McCain.

Twenty four years later, he unilaterally fought for a surge in Iraq, because he alone saw that America could win, just at the time when things looked bleakest. Even Bush was attempting to play Pontius Pilate back then, and was preparing to wash his tainted hands of the whole mess. Again Senator McCain had showed his prudence, but was rewarded by the tag as a "warmonger" by the leftists in Congress and the pro-liberal media.

So everybody, even if you're still undecided, you better get those yard signs ready. Go with the patriots! We all like to say that we voted for the winner. And at this point, it looks like the maverick team of Palin-McCain is going to be riding triumphantly into Washington, and injecting a booster-shot of patriotism into a Congress mired in the implacable gridlock of self-serving politics.

Today, like his predecessor of a century ago, Mr. McCain sees himself as the last bastion against political abuses and corporate greed.  He may not turn out to be the second coming of Teddy Roosevelt, but if elected, it'll sure be interesting finding out

The America pullout in Iraq...but will they soon want us back?

These days the world seems to be devaluing our dollar, and contends that it may someday be replaced by the Euro. But ask the Iraqi people what they think of our money; or the Vietnamese; or the Germans and Japanese after World War II. These countries saw a post-conflict  boom because of the American dollars that were introduced into their economies.

Not only did the U.S. have a profound change on the Vietnamese economy, but also its culture. Presently, U.S. dollars serve, as they did during the war, as the country's true currency. And one of the few things common to the North and South is a taste for rock-and- roll. Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, and other American music was an integral part of the culture during the war years.

There's plenty of rock to be heard in today's student hangouts in Saigon and Hanoi. The Beatles can be heard all over. ''Hey Jude'' blasts in its original verse from a Hanoi radio station. And if you ask any older Vietnamese resident, they'll confess that the entire country still misses the Americans after they fled in 1975, taking with them their "almighty" U.S. Dollars.

So just how almighty is the American dollar? Plenty. Ask the Jordanians who emigrated into Iraq two tears ago. They were recruited to carry out the normal, day-to-day operations at the American embassy in Baghdad. American  officials had been unable to find Iraqis to fill these solid-paying jobs, even in a country where the unemployment rate is estimated to be 25 to 40 percent. Why? The very real fear of reprisal to anyone and their family seen cooperating with the "occupiers".

Murder, kidnapping, and beheading were commonplace to any native Iraqi who worked for the U.S. So two years ago, the State department sent out pleas for foreign workers to go to Iraq, but the responses were mostly from folks who could fill only low-level jobs. These were primarily Jordanians wishing to escape the poverty of their oil free country. They assumed the menial tasks of sanitation and maintenance. The Jordanians were well paid, and were issued snappy, green, official-looking uniforms. The Iraqis considered them as their Arab brothers. And the word spread fast; more and more Jordanians began emigrating to Iraq to work, and to send money back to their impoverished families.

Now the surge of 30,000 new American troops took place, and were dispatched around the country's various troubled provinces. And along with the troops, there followed a mini-surge of Jordanian workers, who were also needed as sanitation workers in the cities the Americans were occupying. These areas were primarily in Sunni regions, which had been unstable ever since the disbanding of the Iraqi army. So why was the surge actually so successful? Was it General Pretraeus? Was it brilliant military strategy? Maybe.

But the real story behind the success was the Jordanian garbage collectors! Unlike the U.S. soldiers, the Jordanians could go safely into any area and clean up the refuse in the streets. These garbage men quickly assumed another vital function; intelligence. They spoke the language; they knew where all the IUDs were planted. These improvised unexploded bombs were the chief weapon killing the Americans. They were often disguised as garbage, or were underneath animal carcasses. The Jordanians liked their jobs- they warned the American soldiers where these IUDs were hidden, and the casualties began to disappear.

Wisely, the American officers decided to give a pay raise to any worker who reported these roadside bombs. The Jordanians were now flashing $100 bills around, and the Sunni residents became a little jealous, wishing  to also wear nice green uniforms and have well-paying jobs. They complained to their mullahs. Yup, you guessed it...American money talks! The mullahs made a deal with the American officers, and now everyone was on the payroll.

Suddenly, not only were the towns being cleaned of refuse, all the citizens began rebuilding the damage. Walls, houses, schools etc. were repaired and repainted . The Americans took the credit, and everyone else got paid. This was the true "Awakening" movement...just your basic good ole fashioned bribery. Everyone now was cooperating. The Americans cleaned up the insurgents, and everyone else cleaned up the towns. General Petraeus was hailed as a military genius.

But what's to happen when the Americans leave, and take away all the $100 "Benjamins" along with them? Throughout Iraq, there's rampant unemployment, unrepaired infrastructure, and no electricity or running water full time in most areas. Yet the Americans are to be gone from the cities in another year, and entirely gone in two years. And already there is trouble brewing for the next Iraqi general election. People are being intimidated at voter registration stations. And the Kurdish city of Kirkuk in the north is as unstable today as it was four or five years ago.

It looks as if the post-war proposals  of John McCain suddenly are proving remarkably prescient. He's no longer lampooned for his "another 100 years" gaffe of 3 months ago. For a while, the democrats were playing this for all it was worth

McCain has lately been demonstrating some real foreign policy savvy. He definitely looks like the safer horse to ride when compared to Obama's hemming and hawing about how he opposed the Iraq war in the first place. That's great Barack...but what have you done for us lately? Your reaction to Putin's invasion of Georgia was flabby and unpersuasive. And what would you do if the Iranians and Israelis got aggressive with each other? Yes, we know..."We must never fear to negotiate; and we must never negotiate in fear". Ho hum.

As a matter-of-fact, McCain's 100 year gaffe might ultimately end up being proved correct by History. You just get the feeling that we might need a "re-awakening" in Iraq if Obama wins, and he were to pull out all the soldiers prematurely for political reasons. Iraq may prove to be a Vietnamese deja' vu. They'll surely miss the Benjamins, and and in due time, we shall see if Mr. McCain all along had it right from the getgo.

"Is John McCain Missing the Boat On High-Speed Railways"

John McCain wants to drill offshore. Barack Obama wants to rebuild the infrastructure. If only the two could compromise. Combine both plans, and for once, all the insipid political promises for "job creation" would actually have some basis for reality.

But is John McCain missing the boat on high speed railways? He needs to go along for the ride with Barack Obama . Mr. Obama may be a socialist, paint-by-the-numbers liberal wonk, but he sees above the horizon with his infrastructure proposals.

One of the few good uses of massive government spending, besides defense, is infrastructure. But defense spending raises inflation; it pumps huge money into the economy, but the products and services it creates can't be purchased. So more money in the economy chasing the same amount of goods and services, weakens the dollar.

But the amount of money Obama is proposing to spend on infrastructure would lend a vastly beneficial impetus to the economy. Infrastructure spending generates huge job growth, and the results are semi- permanent...the benefits are there until the concrete and steel begins to crumble.

Everyone's heard Obama's boilerplate standard stump speech..."Hey North Carolina"...or "How are we doing today Milwaukee "...ugh.  He begins them all the same way, and delivers them with the same vacuous blather about hope and change; free college tuition, etc.

But lately Obama has brightened up the blandness with a new tack..."Connecting cities by economic corridors of high speed rail networks." Bingo Barack!...a home run idea from the man with no other plan, other than the re-hashed robin hood proposals of more government and higher taxes.

But at least Obama has one thing right. If we don't update the infrastructure soon, our overripe roads, sewers and bridges will be rotten in less than a decade. So give the man credit for something no other candidate has mentioned in any of the primaries...the railroads.

High speed rail would have made sense for the  U.S. twenty, thirty, or even fifty years ago. If we had placed high speed rail right-of-ways parallel to all the interstate highways built in the 50's and 60's, this nation would never have had an energy crisis. But the original intention of the interstates was for national defense- rapid military transport during wartime. No one ever assumed the highways would become so vital to travelers, commuters, and interstate commerce. If that had been assumed back then, they would've made the roadways 20 inches thick with concrete, and built the bridges with rust-resistant steel alloys.

But ever since, we have an orange-barrel/construction zone season in the summer, and pothole/corrosion season in the winter. When one area is patched , the next must be dealt with. Not only is this a huge annual tax drain, there's no permanence to it; sort of like renting an apartment vs. buying  one's own home. The government gets nothing in return for its money, other than a mild boost to the local economies who do the repairs that year.

Now if John McCain were to climb on the high speed rail bandwagon, he could play upon the one, massive weakness in the Obama plan: government ownership. If McCain's plan would be based on privatization of the new rail networks, people could buy tax free construction bonds in Burlington Northern, Chessie, B&O, and Norfolk Western. This worked well 150 years ago when the government granted Union pacific and Central Pacific the cheap land for the transcontinental railroad's right of ways back then, and it would work again.

Face it, anything owned or run by the government never succeeds, because no one has any incentive to perform above mediocrity. Amtrak is always in the red for this reason. Could the transcontinental railroad of the 1860's been finished by 1869 if the government owned it? The two private companies worked at a maniacal pace to finish it because they were motivated by the profits that would begin immediately. The nation grew rapidly after the completion of the railroad, because regional markets became national ones almost overnight.

This same boost would be realized nowadays, only in the form of efficiency, and providing an alternative to the current horrific state of air travel. It would save Americans time and gasoline, and jet fuel would be conserved.

The benefits of high speed rail construction would be permanent. There'd be high-paying, skilled employment creation. We'd have steel and manufacturing jobs, railroad and construction jobs, engineering and technology employment. America would see a steel industry revival.

And in this pricey energy era, what's more practical than high-speed FREIGHT TRAIN corridors spanning the nation? The benefits in time and diesel fuel saved, and the reduced damage to the interstate highway system from 40-ton trucks would be enormous- possibly eliminating the need for the federal gas tax. Picture inter-modal, 100-car high speed freight trains, piggy-backing 200 semi trailers across the country at  90 MPH ...how energy-efficient would that be? Speedy just-in-time deliveries would boost the nation's GDP, and reduce OPEC imports by a huge percentage.

So are ya listening out there Mr. McCain ? Aren't you tired of the pro-democrat pundits that say you're the next George Bush ? Well then show 'em...you  ARE the maverick when it comes to the economy. Praise Obama for his idea of high speed rail corridors, and then nail him to the wall about how the government would bungle the thing up, just like they always do. The best strategy is always to take the strong point of your opponent, and turn it against them.

And for God sakes, once you're elected, then see to it that your administration actually gets it off the ground and moving forward. Call it whatever you want...the next Apollo moon shot, or the next Manhattan project. Just co-opt the Nike slogan for your motto...just do it!

Civilian vs. Veteran Presidents...Who's More Fit To Serve?

How would Barack Obama respond to a homeland terrorist attack? His reaction to Putin's Russian incursion into Georgia was tepid compared to John McCain's lusty reply. But McCain has military blood deep within his veins. Contrast this Obama's liberal disdain for the military. But considering that the child is father to the man, it's no mystery how the early back rounds of the two are as sharply contrasted back then as to the way the two might perform now under the pressure of a crisis.

Every president faces international crises. Kennedy and the Cuban missiles. Johnson and the gulf of Tonkin; Nixon and the Pueblo incident; Ford and the Mayaguez crisis; Carter and the hostages; Reagan and Korean flight 007; Bush I and Saddam's Kuwait invasion; Clinton and Kosovo in the Balkans; Bush the 2nd and Sept 11. A president must be ready to answer the zero-hour call for either decisive action or inaction to avoid war.

Flashback to the election of '92. Clinton was being painted as unfit to be president, because of his pacifism and draft avoidance of the Vietnam war. But the "comeback kid" shrewdly replied that, "Franklin Roosevelt was a great commander-in-chief during World War II, and did not serve". Clinton went on to a spotty performance in the foreign policy crises of the Balkans, and Somalia. But he did grievous damage to our present military strength when he balanced the budget in his second term, committing the liberal sin of subordinating the military to social policy priorities.

Actually, Franklin Roosevelt was an effective wartime commander-in-chief, but he was more the administrative wizard rather than military master. His friend, Henry Stimson was appointed Secretary of War. Stimson's master stroke in appointing George Marshall, led to Marshall appointing Dwight Eisenhower. Stimson also presided over the Manhattan project. FDR led the nation to victory, but his historic leadership can be attributed mostly to his political astuteness. FDR seemed to have had that uncanny ability to navigate through the 4 year crisis without ever putting the ship of state on the rocks. But his one big Yalta blunder originated the cold war.

When Harry Truman assumed command in spring 1945, the Red Army was at the borders of Iran. Unlike Roosevelt, his steel-spined decisions were shaped during his days as a World War I artillery captain. Truman never backed down. Truman ordered Stalin to back off from the oil-rich country, or he would drop a 3rd atomic bomb right on top of the Soviet armies, who were massed at the Iranian border. Stalin complied. Truman also knew instinctively that the Korean War could have easily escalated into a third world war, and went for a stalemate- a politically unpopular decision that cost him re-election in '52.

Eisenhower proved to be a great peacetime president; but ironically, his greatest legacy was the result of his wartime experience in Germany. Mr. Eisenhower saw how mobility on the autobahns favored Nazi troop movements. This was his original intention in 1956 for constructing our invaluable interstate highway system. To this day, we continue to reap the economic benefits from Eisenhower's greatest peacetime accomplishment.

Question: Would John Kennedy have been able to back down the Russians in the 1962 Cuban missile crisis if he had not been an experienced World War II veteran? We'll never know. But everyone remembers how Kennedy's gut instincts called for force rather than negotiation with the Soviets. This is the essence of what any president does during any foreign crisis...deciding under pressure when much is at stake. This often separates the soldier presidents from the civilians. Do we fight or take flight?

Civilian Richard Nixon campaigned in 1968 to end the Vietnam war. But he chose to escalate it in 1969 with a B-52 carpet-bombing campaign. Rightly or wrongly, the war disastrously dragged on for 6 more years.

Another civilian, Lyndon Johnson, blundered greatly during the "Pueblo" spy ship crisis, and humiliated America by backing down from the North Koreans, who'd captured the ship in spring 1968.

Jimmie Carter may have been a nuclear engineer in the Navy, but his bungled appointment of his college roommate, Stansfield Turner, as head of the CIA in 1977 has had repercussions to this very day. The experienced CIA operatives back then resigned in droves rather than subordinate themselves to Turner, who knew nothing about spying. We lost most  of our Middle East agents on the ground back then, and the 1979 Iran hostage crisis began a domino effect of U.S. setbacks in the Middle East. Carter had zero wartime experience, and America has paid dearly for it ever since.

Ronald Reagan never fought in World War II , but he acted in war movies while living through the era. Reagan also understood the importance of absolute power and not backing down. Reagan had a poker face. By showing strength and decisiveness, he ended the cold war with the Soviets without firing a shot.

George Bush Senior was a World War II Navy pilot who was shot down and rescued during action in the Pacific. He proved to be a master coalition builder, and commander-in-chief during the first Gulf War. And he knew when to back off, and chose to stay within the borders of Kuwait after defeating Saddam in '91. History will always wonder what he could have accomplished during a second term.

George Bush II also avoided the Vietnam war by serving in the Air National Guard. He got the nation into the quagmire in Iraq chiefly by appointing buddy-buddy Don Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary. Rumsfeld saw to it that the war was under-funded, under-supplied, and under-manned. Only the intervention, war experience, and fortitude of Senator John McCain saved the nation from a possible involvement in an all-out civil war there.

McCain constantly badgered Rumsfeld for more weapons, more soldiers, more armor, and a different command structure. He convinced Bush that we could win with 50,000 more troops. Whether elected or not, he will eventually standout in history as having saved the U.S. from a possible humiliation a hundred times worse than Vietnam, because it would have alerted the enemy that America always eventually backs down politically at home, if only they suffer enough soldier casualties abroad. The Islamic radicals are well aware of our great disadvantage...we value the lives of our soldiers. To us life isn't cheap as it is to them, with their unlimited cadre of ready-to-die suicide bombers.

We are a nation of Christian principles and freedom; polar opposites to the ones who oppose us. And John McCain knows this. The Vietnamese were no different. The enemy will lie during negotiations, and will not back down unless forced. They have no values. Only the desire to destroy us.

But is Barack Obama aware of their principles? Does he believe that conflicts should be fair? Would he be his own man in command, or basically just use the Joint Chiefs as subcontractors for all his military decisions to either back down, fight, or negotiate?

Is McCain the next Harry Truman? And is Obama the next Jimmie Carter? History always repeats itself, and leopards never change their spots. America is at an electoral crossroads. Will we turn right this November, or vote to make a hard left?
