The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Ah yes; the great public outpouring of affection for the late, wonderful Ted Kennedy.

But (sniffle) now that he's gone, what shall the nation do without him?

Plenty.

For starters, let's throw off all that phony "Camelot" pretentiousness, and realistically evaluate Kennedy's half-century effort as America's "champion the underdog."

First and foremost, Ted Kennedy was the consummate "problem drinker," who carried a custom silver hip flask, courtesy of  brother Bobby - a gift presented him after becoming Senator to Massachusetts in 1962.

No matter where Teddy Kennedy went - like Mary (and her little lamb) - the silver flask was sure to go.

On the night of his July,1969 accident with Mary Jo Kopechne, Kennedy had been drinking for an estimated 8 hours prior to driving off a wooden bridge. Then - leaving a still-alive 23 year old girl to drown - brave Teddy went back to his hotel and slept it off.

Later on, accounts from news reporters- who had interviewed Kennedy "off the record" - would be taken aback when he would non-chalantly pull out his flask, then drain its contents while recapping his ill-fated life's story.

Of course this was NEVER mentioned by a liberal press, choosing instead to portray Kennedy as some mythical protector of the underclass, rather than his real persona - a callous politician with a surefire forum for getting re-elected: buying votes- a trick that went all the way back to the days of FDR.

Ted Kennedy - knowing full well the story of Franklin D. Roosevelt - was the greatest vote-buyer in American political history.

From the time brother John was killed in 1963, to July 1969 when his chance ended, the Whitehouse had been destined to be Ted Kennedy's for the taking. His father (Joe senior) had always described young Edward (Teddy) as..."the best politician in the family"

That said, by the mid 60's, a power-obsessed Ted Kennedy began to build his coalitions - the minorities, the unions, the poor - the so-called underdogs of society, who's leaders were always in unanimous agreement ..."Ted Kennedy was the ONLY politician in America that could be trusted".

In 1964 - barely four months after his older brother was assassinated - trustworthy Ted Kennedy (then a 32-year-old serving his first term) gave his first major speech on the Senate floor over a divisive, highly controversial Civil Rights Bill.

Kennedy said...(quote) "We should not hate but LOVE one another".... "We should use our powers not to create conditions of oppression that lead to violence, but conditions of freedom that lead to peace"... It is in that spirit that I hope the Senate will pass this bill."

Bravo! Ted Kennedy, always the great speechmaker.

Call it what you will, Kennedy's impassioned statement was indeed, masterful political theater. He was probably half-drunk (or worse) during its delivery- although at the time no breathylizer existed on the Senate floor.

In 1965, it was Senator Ted Kennedy who would create an even more tense society by passing "chain immigration" laws. Presently, millions from incompatible cultures now call America home: Hispanics, Muslims, Hmongs, Koreans, Somalians, Ethiopians, etc.

Additionally, Kennedy's policies have created even greater racial tension between competing (and fast-growing) ethnicities, that have long-since failed to assimilate into America as "Americans."

The result? One of Kennedy's most enduring legacies – multi-culturalism..."press 1 for English; press 2 for Spanish" - with the once-great state of California as its origin.

Visit the "state" of California today; a foreign land of multi-cultural parallel societies; a liberal stew of hate that is responsible for legislators like Boxer, Feinstein and Maxine Waters, who call conservatives "Neanderthals", and want to distribute even more wealth from harried taxpayers, and make an already impossible situation even worse.

Yes; it was all thanks to a scheming, politically-ambitious Ted Kennedy, who's opening of the borders would be his way of establishing a permanent democratic voting block and eventually elect him President.

After 45 years of Ted Kennedy policies, we now face a tsunami of illegal aliens; crowding our classrooms, closing our hospital emergency rooms, unleashing violent crime, and driving down wages.

In the 1960's, it was a young Teddy Kennedy, who campaigned for the Great Society that would eventually destroy the family structure  of the "underclasses" - hurting blacks the worst.

As a result, the jails are filled almost exclusively with men who grew up without fathers, thanks to, among others, Ted Kennedy. .

It was Kennedy, the great "liberal lion," who spent 47 years clawing our U.S Constitution into shreds.

But are we being too harsh? Are we being mindreaders? Rather, should we grant Ted Kennedy a pass and say "he had great intentions", only with horrible unintended consequences?

To Kennedy's great credit, he was instrumental in writing the law that outlawed age discrimination - the "Americans with Disabilities Act".

As a child, Teddy Kennedy remembered how his mentally retarded older sister, Rosemary, was institutionalized (and later lobotomized) by his uncaring father. Hence, Kennedy did reveal - as many will contend- that he was a man of compassion and decency.

But decent human beings do not act the way Kennedy acted on the night of July 18, 1969, when Mary Jo Kopechne’s life was cut short by the Senator’s cowardly actions; and his subsequent lies to try to save his "future presidency."

Decent human beings do not drive their wives to drink and despair with their philandering ways. Kennedy often cheated on his wife, supported all forms of abortion, covered up for his nephew in 1990 when he raped a young Florida woman; then worst of all - abandoned a poor girl in a watery grave, when she could have been saved.

But other than that, Ted Kennedy was a devout, church-going Catholic.

Ted Kennedy, perhaps the most hypocritical, cowardly politician in American history, is largely responsible for the dark underbelly of America's welfare state; a left wing, bomb-throwing socialist - the most liberal democrat to EVER serve in the U.S. senate.

The unintended consequences of his “compassion” led to a legacy of disasters; the creation of a permanent underclass; the breakup of the black family; the disgrace that is public housing.

All this (and more), is Ted Kennedy’s heritage of compassion.

This man is directly responsible for the "immigration reform" that COMPLETELY changed the demographics and culture of this country. He was behind the scheme to force banks to loan to people who couldn't repay those loans; and not surprisingly, originated the current attempt to take away our personal liberty under the guise of "health care" reform.

As a final salute to his "great service" to his country, Ted Kennedy was buried next to his brothers in Arlington National cemetary.

But perhaps it would be more fitting they dump his casket into Chappaquiddick - a burial worthy of a true psychopath,  who had abandoned a girl there to die a ghastly death, then had the gall to ask "forgiveness" from the American people.

And for all eternity, the lion now sleeps; but only God, the devil, and Ted Kennedy know where.

Deciphering those baffling liberals!

Psychoanalyze a liberal? Well, here goes
:

First, we'll set the ground rules: This discussion shall be limited SPECIFICALLY to liberals who enter the highest levels of politics - those having an unearthly lust for power.

The most pertinent observation is the paradox liberals harbor within themselves: Deep down, they inherently understand they're selfish malcontents, but they seek to cover this scar on their psyche by lying to themselves:

"I am really a good person; I want to help others; I want to be fair to everyone"
"Once I get into office, I'm going to change the world for the better"
"My legacy will be somene who made a difference in this world"

The paradox of liberalism affects one early.

The most radical liberals are those born the youngest child of a wealthy, politically-connected family. Like astrological interpretation, birth order is important in liberal orientation - it sets up a deep-seated, eerie, unchildlike sense of the desire to control.

Being the youngest, this budding liberal child becomes frustrated - placing last in the sibling line; forced to wait longer before they're old enough to make a difference. Hence, by the time they're of school age, they've become totally obsessed with themselves.

But because of this self-obsession - much unlike other youngsters- these children have already determined their role for themselves in life. And coupled with being the "last-born", it prolongs the time line, creating an extra-radical liberal adult- the most sinister kind.

Having so many (family) role models, this child easily aquires the skills of power politics at a young age - quickly adapting to the language of "liberal-ese," communicating in egalitarian-sounding words and phrases.

Also, they become extra-proficent at "psychological manipulation with equanimity"...i.e. being able to lie with a straight face.

Thus, by the time they reach late teens, they are more than adequately prepared for the political arena. For now, it's only a matter of time

Not surprisingly, it's this dominate obsession with self, (Freud's "id" factor) that causes the selfishnes, the stinginess, and deceit: "Everything is about me"..."I am the most important person in the world."

Then, the final die is cast, setting up the most evil trait that develops in the young liberal adult: overriding vindictiveness; opening the door to that most deadly of political weapons- losing one's conscience.

In their scheming minds, the end now justifies the means - the classic reason why liberals wield political advantage over conservatives.

If a liberal sees the unfair as "being fair", but the conservative is bound by morality, how does one (the conservative) possibly compete on such an unlevel psychological playing field?

Curiously, the two most egregious examples of runaway radical liberalism- Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy -were born the youngest of many children from powerful political families.

And this is why liberals in political circles act alike; they've all grown up framed by a similar psychological pattern. So they recognize the kindred spirits in each other, and bond easily into a homogenous, highly-effective voting bloc.

It's HOLDING onto power that motivates everything liberals do, and it defines everything they say - which always means the oppposite.

If liberals define something as positive, what they really imply is negative. If liberals vow they absolutely won't do something, that is exactly the course of action they've taken in their Machiavellian minds.

Hence the paradox of dealing with liberals -everything becomes the opposite- the "bizarro," politically-juxtaposed world of liberalism.

Now that we have defned them, let's brand them "the Universal Fraternity of Liberals", who, in positions of power, feel they are superior over the common man.

Because of their perceived greater gift of intelligence, liberals see themselves as flag-bearers for advancing humanity and civil rights; but again, paradoxically, they are never compassionate.

Liberals use their power to deny others liberty, holding up fairness as their excuse for legislative tyranny, and the re-distribution of wealth to the poor.

However, they're especially fair when it comes to allocating other people’s money; but quite stingy when it comes to contributing their own. They pretend to be morally superior, even though they seldom, or never, attend religious services

They freely pass judgment on others; yet they resent being judged themselves. Their universal mission..."Making the world as it should be, rather than the way it actually is."

Therefore, liberals believe in their right to acquire power using Marxist principles..."by any means necessary."
Once again, the end justifies the means; this includes lies, cheating, distortion, and deception. For the radical liberal, when it comes to retaining power - anything goes.

And now for the sake of "empathy", lets walk in their shoes for a minute, and recite the liberal pledge against conservatism:

All stand please:

"We shall deceive the Conservatives, for they are the common enemy of the greater good."

"We will steal their elections...begrime their reputations... belittle their accomplishments...ridicule their lifestyles...dis-enchant their supporters. All is fair in love, war, and politics. We will do everything - and anything - to advance the cause of liberalism everywhere, because we are the ones who must save the world!" (end)

You can be seated now - and forget once and for all about trying to figure out a liberal.

Get ready for future shock-- Ken Salazar's lunatic fringe energy policy!

Ah the Christmas fruitcake-- the present everyone gets, but no one actually EVER wants. According to scientific estimates, Christmas fruitcakes are annually re-gifted several hundred million times each year.

And back on Dec 18, 2008, America received an ominous Christmas fruitcake of its own--the appointment of Kenneth Salazar-- Obama's radical-environmentalist nominee for Secretary of the interior, who has promised to... "take the moon shot on energy independence."

"Moon Shot" on energy independence? Get ready for a rough ride. The statements of this demon's radicalism on renewable energy policy tell the tale:

"We need to be honest with ourselves and the American people about our energy future".

"We simply cannot drill our way to energy independence."

That's indubitably correct Mr. Fruitcake-- once the Obama administration gets done taxing the oil companies out of existence, we'll not be able to drill at all!

OPEC must have cheered wildly after hearing that one.

Thus far, Salazar has all but come out and said... "I will personally see to it that no new oil wells will ever be dug under my environmental watch."

Probably the most egregiously stupid quote from Mr. Fruitcake came recently about his concept of "going after" coal fired power plants...(quote) “The idea that wind energy has the potential to replace most of our coal-burning power today is a very real possibility”...“It is not technology that is pie-in-the sky; it is here and now.”

Mr. Salazar obviously has visions of wind-turbine grandeur. He wants to hurriedly construct thousands of windmills offshore to obviate the possibility of drilling, and concomitantly eliminate thousands of coal fired power plans, and replace their electricity output with wind.

So far, our interior secretary is proving to be a fruitcake with more than enough nuts:

EXAMPLE: Recently Salazar predicted..."Ocean winds along the East Coast can generate 1 million megawatts of power, the equivalent of 3,000 medium-sized coal-fired power plants, or nearly five times the number of coal plants now operating in the United States"

The equivalent of THREE THOUSAND coal plants? Insane may be too mild a word to describe the energy projections of this environmental lunatic.

So far, the American Coal Council remains aghast at the idea of just walking away from coal, which RELIABLY generates over 50% of the nation's electricity.

Befuddled by Salazar’s obtuse forecast, energy experts know that wind power is thoroughly UNRELAIBLE, and the unsightly installations have always faced fierce local opposition wherever they've been proposed.

Not only are wind turbines an inefficient way to generate electricity, they are a horrible sight, and a source of a maddening, whirring type of noise pollution.

Windmills kill birds-- millions and millions of them. The 45 foot diameter rapidly spinning blades of offshore windmills could portend an eventual extinction of a number of species of seabirds.  And most curiously, the environmentalists and the Sierra club remain suspiciously mum about the horrendous sight of thousand of dead sea gulls washing ashore along our coasts.

And there would be an impact on shipping lanes. The ports along NJ/NY take in a huge amount of shipping. Nighttime collisions with offshore wind turbines pose a considerable threat, not only to the ships themselves, but to the environment should their cargoes leak into the sea (e.g. chemicals).

To provide maximum safety, redundant navigation and control systems, a ban on  tankers, crew training , traffic management systems, and emergency tug boat provisions--all are relevant considerations that would eventuate from installing offshore wind turbines

And has Mr. Fruitcake considered the possibility of a hurricane? Or a vicious nor'easter storm off the eastern Atlantic? Probably not since he's only the secretary of the INTERIOR.

Wintertime is yet another serious challenge to wind turbines. Wind farm developers all will tell you that... "winter is probably the hardest time of year to maintain turbines."

And speaking of weather, the best wind plants generate power only about 30 percent of the time. So every summer, when an annual Bermuda high settles off our southeast coast and brings extended periods of calm, what would Mr. Fruitcake have to say if we had no coal or nuclear back up?

Steady winds are required to maximize the windmills potential. If we went along with Salazar's idea, "windmill calm blackouts" would soon enter the nation's lexicon, along with "worst-case scenario."

Better go out and buy your Honda generators if Mr. Fruitcake gets his way.

Salazar rails against coal, despises nuclear, and would rather pay OPEC $700 billion a year for imported oil. Yet he refuses to define how he would put that many new (wind) plants up, especially in deep water.

Wind energy now accounts for a whopping 1 percent of the nation's electricity. A 2008 federal energy report predicts (optimistically) wind energy could generate 20 percent by 2030-- but offshore sources would only account for 20 percent of that.

So according to Salazar; we're to dismantle coal plants-- take 20 years to construct thousands of these 16th century technology wind farms-- with no mention of the  problems in efficiently transmitting power from far offshore.

As Shakespeare once wrote in "Hamlet" in 1603--something is rotten in Denmark.

Wind power is capital intensive--it takes 300 windmills @ 1.5 million dollars EACH (plus years to manufacture them) to equal one oil well, which takes 2 months to drill, and produces 1000 barrels of oil per day.

Air has practically zero energy density-- while oil/gasoline has explosive energy density.

Estimates reveal it would take tens of thousands of windmills to generate the equal of just ONE modern nuclear plant. The average wind turbine generates only 2 to 5 megawatts per unit on a WINDY day.

And what do we do with all the coal miners Salazar wants to put out of a job? Put 'em to work "manning" the windmills?

And where would all the capital come from for setting up the manufacturing plants to build these monsters? And what about the vast expense of installing them, anchoring them to the sea floor, and then constructing an offshore transmission electric grid to reach the baseload power demand in the cities?

How would this all be built and paid for? With ACORN volunteers?

And how would it be financed? Sell bonds, like the "war-bonds" of yester-years? Yes America-- join the drive to energy insanity-- buy windmill bonds!

What about the legal roadblocks? The local opposition-- yes, those bedeviling NIMBY problems over the right of way for transmitting power from  offshore--what about those people? A mighty ocean wave could easily trash an entire windfarm, plus the offshore grid that goes with it. And If you have a severe enough storm, the blades or generator can be severely damaged.

And what about coastline real estate values? If you live near a wind turbine farm, it makes a LOT of noise-- more than man or animal can withstand over time.

Besides the high installation costs-- and the fact that saltwater is highly corrosive-- who would maintain these monstrosities? Anything that has moving parts always breaks down.

To produce 1,200 megawatts of electricity (an output comparable with that of a nuclear power station), a wind farm would need to occupy around 140 sq mi. How would that massive mess look off the coast from the Maryland eastern shore?

Wind farms are not a panacea-- green energy groups enthusiastically propose them-- but NO ONE wants to live near one.

Shortly After his inauguration, Barack Obama announced his $I billion proposal to build the nation's first offshore wind farm off Cape Cod. But charging to the opposition was Sen. Edward Kennedy, an avowed foe of the plan to erect 130 giant turbines across 25 miles of federal waters in Nantucket Sound-- right along the sightlines of the pristine Kennedy compound at Hyannis port.

This indeed poses an early test of our anti-president's renewable energy policy-- the dual of the political titans!

Kennedy has fought the "Cape Wind" project for eight years, arguing (truthfully) that it would kill birds, endanger sea life, and imperil the scenic area's tourism and fishing industries.

The turbines would stand 440 feet above sea level-- each taller than the Statue of Liberty--when the tallest blades are pointing straight up. The Kennedy family's oceanside compound would have a clear view of the project to be located 4.7 miles offshore, but Kennedy says (falsely) "it's not WHY I oppose the project.

But who can blame him?

Windmill farms are horrifyingly ugly. But maybe they can paint them with invisible paint, and it'll all be fine 'n dandy!

In France, leading environmentalists  argue that wind turbines are inefficient, ruin the countryside, and ultimately, have little impact on carbon emissions.

Germany by contrast, is turning its countryside into a huge, ugly mass of solar panels and windmill  farms. Result? France still looks like France. Germany is beginning to look like another planet.

Across the USA — from Cape Cod to the Southern California desert — new wind projects (touted as emission-free options to oil and gas-fueled power plants) face resistance over wildlife, noise and vistas. The clashes come as wind-energy demand is growing, in part because 17 states have passed laws requiring that some of their future energy come from renewable sources.

But once again, where are the environmentalists on the issue of land wind turbines?

These wackos will  go out of their way to protect the spotted owl and the salt marsh harvest mouse, yet remain silent  about massive fiberglass blades that have been chopping up tens of thousands of birds that fly into them, including golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, burrowing owls and other native American species.

Scientists now are beginning to worry that turbines, added to other factors, could tip a species into decline.

Windmills — derisively dubbed by some as "ugly toilet brushes in the sky" — draw fire when they're planned in areas prized for their pristine landscapes: Cape Cod groups are fighting what they call visual pollution. Fishermen fear the loss of prime fishing grounds from the USA's first offshore project.

The Government Accountability Office has begun to study the effects more windmills would have in the Appalachians. Research found that existing turbines there killed up to 4,000 bats on Backbone Mountain last year.

The State of New Jersey last month ordered a 15-month wind-power moratorium on their own shore, where the desire to preserve Atlantic views has collided with plans for offshore turbines near Ocean City and other sites.

But despite all the controversy, its obvious why Salazar was appointed-- he will serve as Obama's "cover man" to do all they can to move America to an energy catastrophe.

They both believe in saving the planet from the rising sea levels, and switching to their vision of energy nirvana--solar panels, windmills and biodiesel-- which would be equivalent to going from the car and truck back to the bicycle and kerosene lamp-- all for their concern about our non-existent threat from global "warming".

So in the coming years, prepare to ride your bike to work, and live without electricity-- especially when the weather is perfectly clear and calm—‘cause it's likely to ruin your day.

"Thomas Jefferson...where are you now?"

Thomas Jefferson once wrote: "Were it left to me to have a government with no newspapers, or newspapers with no government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." Jefferson 's most relevant quote however was..."better watch out for that federal government... it'll make a slave out of you".

Boy could we ever use another Tom Jefferson today, or even back in the 60's, when liberals such as Ted Kennedy, took up their semi-permanent residency in the Senate. With the landslide 1964 victory of Lyndon Johnson over Barry Goldwater, it signaled the start of a concomitant landslide of liberal legislation that forever changed our nation in an irreversible way.

Liberalism remains most popular among those in academia and politics, because liberals seek positions of influence. Lliberals commonly tend to be highly educated and relatively affluent. Liberals are predominantly white, and garner the support of the young. They are also the least religious political group.

;

Since they are educated and wealthy, liberals believe they're entitled to power. And ironically they seek their power to deny others liberty, holding up fairness as their excuse for legislative tyranny. They seek to “generously" re-distribute wealth from the rich to the poor. They are especially fair when it comes to other peoples money; but they’re quite stingy when it comes to contributing their own. They feel morally superior, even though 43% report they seldom or never attend religious services

They freely pass judgment on others; yet they resent being judged themselves. "Didn't all these evil rich people make their money by taking advantage of the poor? Therefore we must tax them to the point of getting even". To them, Robin Hood had it right from the get go. This tax the rich idea in America really came to the fore in the early 60’s, at a time of economic prosperity.

In the late 50's and early 60's, the unemployment rate had dipped sharply, and people went to work in such significant numbers that companies found themselves short of workers. But under the bold liberal charge of Ed Kennedy, disastrous, job-killing employer-taxation laws were passed in the Senate. Business owners were now required to match their employee's social security contributions, and to pay payroll taxes to the government for every worker under hire. This forced many small business owners into downsizing, because they only could now afford to keep their key employees. Small business creation began to decline almost overnight.

This legislation caused the employer cost of doing business to skyrocket. It's destroyed the formation of untold millions of small businesses ever since, and has kept many an entrepreneur from expanding. It also was the dawn of the big automatic deduction payroll tax. To this day, many companies now go offshore rather than expand domestically.

This liberal doctrine of “fairness” keeps the unemployment rate artificially high. Free enterprise or fair enterprise- which is better for a poor person? Things such as the minimum wage, and mandatory retirement benefits have expanded the welfare state to the point where it's part of the structural economy. These welfare people figure in the unemployment rate, but most are not even seeking work.

Ironically, these liberal legislators probably couldn't even recognize a pick or a shovel, or ever worked a hard day in their lives. If they did, they'd realize what it is to earn money, and would respect an individual's or employer’s right to keep their earnings, rather than tax them to the limit, and spend the tax revenues to help the poor people that these liberals themselves have created.

Nowadays, to start a small business, one has to pay many fees, and have insurances in place before they can start out. It’s no wonder that most small businesses are either family-run, or are the result of spin-offs from some larger company that refused to act on some promising new entrepreneurial idea. How would a married person with a family start a small enterprise? Either he or she maxes out credit cards, or a great idea withers on the vine.

If everybody was free to make a buck with their own idea or initiative, what else would stop them from taking a shot? Everyone has their own dream of how they would get rich. But unless you know a banker, lawyer and insurance agent, you have to pay dearly and risk almost everything to go into business today.

Good ol' liberalism; these people constantly are trying to make the world "as it should be", rather than the way it actually is. The country probably will never learn its lesson and throw off these regulations, until the political climate undergoes an apocalyptic shift to the right; but demographics and time are decidedly against it. Ever since FDR and the New Deal, liberalism has been gathering political momentum. The two-term limit of the presidency will probably preclude any chance of ever reversing this disastrous political trend of trying to be fair to the poor.

It’s estimated that since the Great Society liberalism of the Johnson administration in 1964, an astonishing wealth transfer of 41 trillion dollars has gone toward welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment funds, and other government directives and entitlements. And already, the country is faced with another 35 trillion in unfunded future entitlement obligations for the next 30 years. But as recently as this month, Congress ‘generously’ added on another $800 billion onto our 9.5 trillion national debt, to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because of the housing bust; and the liberal media doesn't say boo about it.

Of course, if there were enough conservative media people to take on the warning role of the canary in the coal mine, this monetary insanity of our fiscal policy would be held more at bay, and possibly go into reverse. But otherwise, it'll take the collapse of the dollar and a second depression before any one decides this all wasn't such a good idea in the first place.
